@loneshark2000 Hey there. I bought the Gen1 XT used for $3,200. The seat was an extra $500. Anyone who can balance can ride it. Being able to stay stable is the most important factor. Getting on and off is not so easy, but worth it!
@loneshark2000 Hey there, I bought the Gen 1 XT second hand, from rental stock and I paid $3,200. I bought the seat new from Segvator.com for about $450. If you can lean forward and lean back in a controlled manner, yes you can ride a Segway! Scott
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I'm a C 5-6 Quad. Would be great if you could share with us on our social network for sci's . google "pushrim" you will see "life after injury". Take care :)
That's sick!!!...have you tried it on sand yet? I'd be really curious how it would do in deep sand. I'm a L3-L4-S3 para, and surf alot. As you can imagine, pushing my chair through the sand is a pain in the ass. How hard is it to break down and put in your car?...or do you transfer into your regular chair first?
I have taken the Segway in the sand, the dirt and even hard packed snow. I just deflate the tries, but not too much. The Segway is no fun to be on top of when hard tires spin on a loose surface.
I've got a pair of Segway folding ramps that I keep in the back of my Audi A6 wagon. I can easily get it in and out of the car alone. Then I transfer from the chair to the gate of the wagon and scoot forward with one leg on each side of the center pole.
Getting on&off it is tricky, but I do it alone.I need 2 be sitting on something higher than the Segway seat, like a kitchen counter.I am planning 2 make a video of me getting on&off of it.I'll send U a mail when I post that. The car I own now is an Auto.I would love to buy a 5/6-speed car but haven't researched yet how to do it.I was visualizing running the clutch cable up to the gear shift so I could control the clutch with my right hand.I would be interested to see how U did it!
how much did that cost you bro !! that is awesome !! do you think someone with spinabifida could drive it ??? plz reply !!
