  • cool

  • this is real bad information shitty hand grip technique

  • Cup and saucer grip? Seriously?

  • boooooo expert village!

  • ho holj.... hold your breath. this guy is just as good as talking as he is with his knowledge.

  • just put the damn trigger and let the bullets do their job, geez.....

  • this is Josh...teaching you how to breathe...from expert village WOW

  • this guy don't even know how to hold a gun.....what the fuck is he talking about.....not much of and expert.....

  • @dirttymason Very much A expert! As for position...would look rather silly pointing at camera? Full grip with free hand UNDER the frame so as to not injure fingers with top action sliding back and fourth. Again...was the F'Bomb needed?

  • @SteelBustingShooter it was as needed as much as the reply comment you made about mine. And you don't put your fingers on the slide.Oh let me guess you just got mad at the curse word huh.....if you know anything about shooting pistols you know that this guy is way off....unless he made this video 20 years ago....anyway you want to look at it ,it is still improper grip...

  • @SteelBustingShooter nothing wrong with the word fuck. It's just as good as hell, or what in the word. Perhaps better considering the silly social stigma fuck has.

  • @mistereveready Ok...seems that's we're steel kicking a dead horse? The only thing I can equate handling a simi-auto pistol proper position was the single handed pocket shooters of old. Weapon extended out with shoulders inline with target. With free hand in pocket so as to stiffened body for lessening pistol wavering. Sir, that's is so Old School! As to "Fuck"? It denotes anger, aggression and a lack of a intelligent response? I sometimes use it when I "Bitch-Up" when need it? SBS

  • @SteelBustingShooter eh wasn't worried about the old style as much. Though in some of his videos he seems to have to readjust. I disagree about lack of an intelligent remark. Like any word, it depends on how it's used.

  • So all he basically said was, "Relax, relax after your shot (right and wrong), and breathe" breathe by going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, quickly then exhaling 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

  • I hate when people smack their lips...

  • that was STUPID expert village sucks

  • yee yee stfu and tell me how to use it -_-

  • This guy has incorrect form. LOL @ Marine marksman, this guy couldnt group 3" at 25 ft

  • his arms and hands are in the wrong position. dosent matter if you hold your breath your gonna miss anyway. LOL

  • Yawn!

  • blow your nose first you snotty bastard, i can listen to this fool.

  • WTF is a morn?

Actually the guy on the video knows as much about handguns as a dead rat's ass.

    Thank you for your support.

  • This guy is a shitload better than any of you morns. Why don't you pull the dick out of your ass and go out and do something.

  • @TheVampyreCat what are you talkin about that was boring... maybe if the vid longer it'd something to watch, but i learned practicaly nothing from this vid.

  • were having a baby while firing

  • at least if someone does have a gun they know how to use it and dont put people in danger

  • jesus just as well they have kindergardners showing us how to shoot

  • stupid fuck ........ dumb ass .....

  • that's constructive, why bother commenting meat head!

  • dumb bitch

  • OMG he is basically telling people to slap the trigger. what is wrong with this guy....

  • i fuckin hate expert village

  • this guy has no idea what he is talking about.

  • The way "Expert" Village works is they ask people to submit educational videos on certain subjects. Then they go through them and select the most "expert" looking ones and pay them $500 for the video. So basically any idiot calling themselves an expert with a spurious background can submit videos in the hopes of making some extra cash. And that's how they end up with idiots like this guy.

  • @redmunkee "Expert Village" staff are the ignorant ones for choosing the lame and misinforming content. They have thousands of videos and it would take quite an effort to replace all these stupid videos; they are in it for the ad revenue they don't give a crap. Their brand "Expert Village" is turning into a serious joke.

  • @xraidedlok then why are you watching it?

  • @thehate448 because its all over the goddamn place are you blind?

  • @xraidedlok No, but look at the little thing at the bottom, if it says "by expertvillage" then go to the next page

  • Great video. I find that using a lanyard around your neck and attached to the gun helps. Push forward until there is tension on the lanyard. It really helps to keep your hands steady. With a cz 82 I can hit an 11 inch by 11 inch target at 70 yards. Yes 70 yards.

  • Uh, to which point on the pistol is the lanyard attached to?

  • You attach the lanyard to the lanyard ring. A lot of guns dont have them. I like them because you can use the lanyard, hang the gun on a nail by your bed, and even hook the gun if it falls in the lake. :)

  • but but i thought u was suppose to hold it sideways while sayin nigga fuck yo couch!!! yeah i dont believe this guy

  • Weak very Weak

  • these are just terrible, frankly, it's very concerning to me that people watch these videos and think that this is good advice.

Check out todd jarrett's shooting tips on youtube, that's a real expert.

  • The old cup and saucer grip....terrible....no control and an attacker can easily disarm you.

  • well, the title does say "TARGET SHOOTING" not self defense shooting.

  • I hold my gun one way, wether I'm target shooting or in a self defense situation. Why would you change it just for target, makes no sense. Not to metion you will be more accurate using a better grip with less felt recoil.

  • I am relatively new to shooting. This is the only grip I know. Do you know another video that shows a better, more appropriate grip. The "cup and saucer" as you call it seems very comfortable and easy to control but if there is a better grip I am open to trying it.

  • even if it's for target shooting, you need a proper handgrip. You don't want to do the cup and saucer grip because when you shoot at anything, a target or a person, the gun jerks to the left because you don't have an opposing force from the left to balance the grip from the right so if you are target shooting, your shots will always been off to the left.

  • No, not really. I shoot like that all the time, even with a .45 or a .50 I don't get any sideways movement.

  • Check out todd jarrett's shooting tips on youtube, that's a real expert.

  • look up the Weaver grip or the isosceles stance and grip.

Cup and saucer leads to too much wiggle in the barrel

  • I prefer the isoceles stance with a clam shell grip.

  • This guy's right, who are the idiots who gave him thumbs down? It's stupid and dangerous to train with one grip and apply a different grip for real world use because you will be unfamiliar with it. Do people know that expert village pays $500 to any idiot that can submit a halfway convincing video that they're an expert on a subject? That's why they all look like a village of idiots.

  • A grip that encompasses the full surface of the grip is necessary for both target and defensive shooting. It gives you better control over both the recoil (allowing for faster target acquisition and follow up shots) and the gun should someone try to take it. The cup and saucer grip is over a hundred years old and was already overshadowed by the weaver stance almost 50 years ago.

  • Proper follow through is holding the trigger AFTER the round has fired. After the round has fired, you slowly release the trigger until the trigger "clicks". Then you proceed to apply increasing pressure to fire the next round. You are describing "trigger slap". It doesn't matter where you hold your breath, as long as you do it the same every shot. You also maintain proper sight picture the whole time.

You are an epic fail at being a firearms instructor. You were never a Marine Marksman.

  • I am glad that you brought up the proper follow through. Good advise for anyone whether they have been training for years or for days. Good shooting.

  • dont like to hold the gun like you did, personaly, but you explained breathing quite well. Some people hold the breath after breathing in and not out. Thats a big mistake in my opinion. Pulse is high and influence great. After you have run quite a while i.e. you can actually feel your pulse in the whole body when you hold your breath after breathing in.

  • Teacup is how you GRIP the gun, isoceles and weaver is how you STAND.

  • hes a Marine Marksman, i think he know what he´s talking about

  • Yea he has good advice, but in a combat situation you might want to go with a double tap.... Or other combat tecniques.

  • His grip isn't the best. It isn't incorrect, but you can gain more control over the gun with a different grip which will make your shots slightly more accurate. They don't teach the style of gripping I'm talking about in standard training though. Usually, it is only taught to special forces, swat teams, pro shooters, etc. Also, all Marines are marksman first so your statement is redundant. You should have just said Marine. :)

  • Sorry, im not from USA or england so i dont know what redundant means, but i never said his grip was the best :P

  • Well, redundant means saying he is a marksman is not needed because everyone who knows about Marines knows that they are riflemen first and foremost so just saying Marine is enough because everyone knows they are marksmen. They actually have to test their marksmanship every year and maintain a certain level of accuracy or they get into trouble.

  • kk thx for info :)

  • the level of accuracy required to qualify is not very high, and very few of them get any USEFUL pistol training. They are told they are experts, because confidence in your training is a requirement in battle, not necessarily because it's true

  • Comment removed

  • Weaver is also a grip.

  • meanwhile your gettin ur ass handed to ya by an AK haha!!!

    i know, i know...its targets!

  • Actually, his arm position is taught in the Marines...its called the teacup position. Its not wrong, its just different from the isosceles and weaver style stances.

  • he was talking about breathing,not stance,,pay attention,dolt.

  • how to kill 101, eh?

  • oh shadap.

  • improper stance, grip, and thumb position jesus

  • his stance is wrong, arm position, and you don't take your finger off the trigger.

  • at first i thought it was kirmit the frog talking

  • i cant pay attention to this guy with all his stuttering

  • i shoot a glock 23 and a m1911 if anyone can give me some real tips besides this peice of shit sent me somethin

  • Look up todd jarett. He uses mostly 1911's but all the techniques can be applied to any semi auto. Great info on all his videos. A REAL Pro shooter.

  • thank you so much that accualy helped me a lot. i used to have loose goupings now there getting tight. what do u shoot?

  • If you want info on clearing malfunctions search for clint smith or thunder ranch. I have a taurus .38 and will be getting a taurus pt1911 soon. I had a .45 hi-point as my first gun,but it was too top heavy and the slide would hit my hand when I fired. I will say it was accurate and reliable for a $169 gun

  • i agree. that doc was pretty weak.

  • omg this guy can't get anything right!!! TRIGGER RESET!!! WTF!!

  • fail..

  • 1. This Guy is a fuckin idiot.

    2. I've yet to see him shoot his weapon. WTF?

Why doesn't he demonstrate it while firing his pistol.

  • Thats what I'm going to tell an intruder at 2 in the morning. "Hold on...I'm breathing between shots"

His grip sucks. Hes gonna get people killed teaching them his way of doing things.

    Expert my ass.

Watch my "amature" gun videos. theyre much better

  • Right, the breathing technique is important or it will affect your target or bullseye.

  • critics

  • If you want to squeeze that trigger get a bolt action rifle. If you want to defend your life with a pistol learn how to slap that trigger. if a bad guy wants to do you in squeezing and resetting might cost you your life. Know how much pressure your trigger needs to go off. Apply it quickly and consistently through out the pull. That's the key consistent pressure. This is called slapping the trigger. It will put an end quickly to a bad situation. Only Squeeze your bud cheeks if you must :)

  • You should'nt releease the trigger fully, just release it enough to allow you fire once more. other wise your sight allignment will be dissrupted due to excessive movement.

  • unless you are a pro like me...

  • As a pro are you showing beginers the proper way or your way of doing it?

  • I was joking about the pro thing :) There are lots of ways to shoot, each one is just another tool in the tool box of skills you can use later. I did post a basic handgun use video though if you want to watch it. Just click my name and you will see it. But I think the video is better than this one

  • Why is this guy called an expert...with his teacup grip and all.

If you want real expert advice look up Todd Jarrett and/or Shootingcoach here on youtube.

  • Exactly, square up, both arms extended and have hands all 4 corners of the grip.

  • expert mah foot, learn to properly hold a handgun first, your grip is so wrong

  • yep, and also follow thru is leaving the trigger pulled back, releasing it can cause a jerking motion anticipated before the shot, leave it pulled back and THEN release it after 2 seconds : D

  • my military (marine corps) and law enforcement training both teach you to fire during your natural pause of your breath. however ive found it to work better if i lock in the breath right before im through exhailing, then squeeze the trigger. it works for me.

  • It's called BRASS. Breath, Release, Aim, Stop and Squese.

  • didnt mention a thing about trigger reset....

  • I guess anybody can call themselves an expert these days...the Guy probably means well but he is not bringing the message across clear enough.

  • No, follow-through is holding the trigger back until the bullet exits the muzzle and following your sights through the recoil arc. Think of follow-through on the trigger like follow-through with a tennis racket, baseball bat of golf club swing, the job isn't over after contact or in this case primer ingition. Alot of new shooters release the trigger as soon as the hammer falls, this movement disrupts sight alignment. Would be easier shown live firing.

  • Exactly my point Exhoser. At least take a pistol in your hand and demonstrate by dry firing, slowly showing the exact motion of the trigger finger during the shot...
