  • It surprises me that a 100% complete ice cover does not establish until December. The September-October verge is usually the beginning of 100% winter in Barrow, isn't it? So it takes two months for an ALWAYS cold sea, not that far from the always-frozen ocean and occasionally getting bricks of its ice even in mid-summer, to get fully frozen?

  • Great video! I went to Svalbard (Spitsbergen)one year in late May.There was still snow on the ground yet what was great was seeing broad daylight at 2o'clock in the morning.

  • After my return from the north pole in 1960 I spent one night in pt Barrow and since it was dark just about 24 hours a day I didn't get to see that much..I did notice that they installed a few street lights since then.
