Yes, I see so much of it here in the US they may as well be naked. But something doesn't feel right, Muslims( and I respect this great teacher, Shiekh Fiez) talk equality, there is no equality in Islam, not according to this shiekh.
There is equality my dear sister. The quran in fact mentions male the same amount of times as it does female. but our ideas of equality are distorted. The feminists believe that equality would mean women doing exactly as the men do. But equality doesn't have to mean this. We were created differently, each with different roles. If we were meant to be the same then we would have all been created the same.
A woman's responsiblity is first and foremost her children and household, this is not (cont)
this is not to say that a woman cannot work etc, no, I wouldn't say that much, in fact Khadija RA was a busines woman, but equality does not mean doing exactly the same. It does not mean coz we have a daughter we should bury her alive because she is worth less. In fact, there is a hadeeth that says that if a man has 3 daughters, and they are raised righteously then they will protect him from hell fire.
A hadeeth also says "jannah lies beneath the feet of the mother"
There are so many examples of women in Islam, great women. But sadly we often hear about the men, and not the women. This is not the fault of Islam, this is the fault of the people teaching it.
The first woman to embrace islam - Khadija RA.
so many great examples.
sadly this society has made us believe islam treats women as lesser, why should a woman cover, why this, why that. shes oppressed, shes this, shes that.but that is not the case
Thanks Domaap3000, I know, its fear i think. I dont wish to be dominated by my husband. Its already still a man's world and i saw the writing on the wall when i was 13. They can do while you can not.
For my own good ,yes maybe, but it flows over into everyday life.
ah my dear sister, if it is domination then it is as abuse of his rights. Every person is like a shepherd and they have their own flock to take care of. khair inshAllah. if a man fears Allah then he wil treat his wife with respect, and not as a slave even though he has certain rights. I am aware that in some cultures the men tend to have this big head, that the wife is as their slave. But this is so so wrong. A wife is a companion, a friend, she should be treated as such :) true?
lol hahah, never thought bout that. probably lmao.
Over in my state theres a speaker, he always reminds us marry someone who fears Allah, coz he'll treat you right. and if the 2 must part for whatever reason, then they'll part on good terms and not go around bad mouthing each other :)
I don't know what its like in USA though, I only been there once when i was 7 years old :-D
truly if one does lower his gaze completely 100% even does not see a girl from her face to toe ... and gives his 100% in lowering gaze...one does feel light in his heart , iman in his heart and coolness in his heart and feels like air conditioner is on in his heart.
This is so true, may Allah save us from indecent glares of na- mahram men.
