  • hi, i quite like the comparison table, except for the diameters.. i'm pretty sure atoms are usually in the range of Angstroms.. which are already much larger than the picometer range.

    i would think viruses should be in the nanometer range, bacteria/fungi close to micrometer range

  • Virus's are not alive, but they also are not dead. In order to be dead, you must have been alive at some point. Besides, your comment that they are not alive is still an issue of debate. Sure they are intracellular paracytes, posses no mitochondria and do not grow, but they can assemble proteins and replicate. I don't know of any rocks that can do that. I prefer the term parasitic life forms.
