Hey Al, It says broadcast date "tenative" Also says "written arranged + composed by the Chestnut tree (Chestnut tree with one line through it, and a "nickname I think" below that." It's numbered recording 001a. it seems like it was a family kind-of recording, ill send you all the specs with some pics. I really hope for you that this is something that you guys worked on in the 70's (5/7/1977). It would be a neat piece of your history.
In "Tyrone's" handwriting, (Signed) has all of the family members names printed. Recorded in Stereo in 1977 (not 1980, was probably released then?) Its titled Reverie (Side 1) The Chestnut Tree (Side 2). Pretty cool I would get this by accident.....BUT!!!!!!! The Master tape is TERRIBLE! Muffled sound, horrible quality. This would be the tape that all the other media formats were copied from! WEIRD!!! But the Maxell Reel tape still records and plays back superbly!!!!
Al Chestnut here. Since we didn't complete the "original recording" of this song until the late '90's, the copy you claim to have must be a demo. We're curious to know what the title of the song is, in "Tyrone's" handwriting, (Signed) released in 1977 as (Side 2) of a single, with all of our family members names. A reply sent to: chestnutbrothers@netscape.net would be greatly appreciated.....Peace!!!!
Yes I STILL appreciate the complexity/sound of analog recording. I found some old reels 7" (about 15 of them)at the local flea market for ten bucks, mostly junky "Shamrock" Reels. I purchased them for re-recording, mostly of my vinyl to 1/4" magnetic "reel to reel" tape. I was puzzled and surprised to find a Maxell UD 35-90 Polyester Base Master Tape in between all of them. As i was recording my own material onto the reel I began to read the track listing of the Tape.
Also...it looks like theres about 9 recordings on side A, (songs listed, and exist as later releases) It also says
SIde n 02 Edited Side 1
3 3/4 speed)
Tape length"
Then *See inside box for index"
