i just hate it when fans of weezer say "oh, the new album sucks, make some good music would you!". did you guys ever stop to think that rivers worked hard for every album he put out there. i doubt he just records it and just say "the hell with it!" every song he recorded has a meaning behind it not some bullsh*t the record label gave to him to sing. just be grateful that there are bands like the weezer that care about music.

im sorry,I just wish we had the old Weezer with the bad haircuts and the geeky attitude back. Weezer back in the 90's was the LEADER of a thousand lonely misfitted kids. Now there just some poppy mainstream band. THe Blue Album helped me through tough times in my time as a kid. Red Album...doesnt.

the guitar was distorted fully(trying to imitate Nirvana),and the drums werent just hi-hat, hi-hate, snare,repeatedly. Blue Album showed a lot more emotion and gave you this feeling no other Weezer album could. Are you saying Red Album is better than BLue?

You need to realise there are a lot of reasons why they are making this music. One of those is because, as with all great bands, they've evolved, they've grown up.

No album is factually better than another in terms of subjective preference. Nobody is wrong or right for prefering any album over Blue, or Blue over any other album. Technically? Make Believe was their most advanced album, not Blue. Red isn't, but I still love it as much as any album they've done, I love all their albums equally.

I dont want them to repeat that! I just hope they wont do songs like their cover of "The Weight" on the bonus track cd. That song realy sucks so much balls. The original versions ok,but even Panic At The Disco's cover is better than Weezers. A lot of Weezer's new stuff has a lot of acoustic stuff,and if they make a whole album full of stuff that sounds like their cover of "The Weight" ill give up on hope in Weezer for making a return to the music scene with a great album.

Continued: No, I've been into them long enough, and even if I hadn't, it wouldn't matter. Being around at the time of an album's release does not make you any more or less appreciative of it than the next genuine music fan.

What you fail to realise is that they've changed, grown up, evolved as a band. This does not mean you have to like them nor anyone else has to dislike them, it's simply Weezer and it's simply music. There's no right or wrong in personal preference so stop the pretention.

The fact of the matter is, Pinkerton was absolutely slated by both critics AND fans around the time of its release, and while it's a brilliant album, they're the kind of fans who probably stand around tossing each other off with glee while talking about said album now. So you see, subjectivity is key here. People had your "New Weezer is shitty compared." back when Pinkerton came out, and they were still entitled to their opinion, and I'm entitled to mine. So I'll say that they're still idiots.
