  • 0:28.. Geddy looks kinda like Ozzy Osbourne in that part. The hair, the glasses... xD

  • Rush is one of those band you have to actually listen to. Their music is great but the lyrics are even better.

  • One of their best song, and probably the most underrated.

  • They need to put this back on their set list! Maybe instead of Stick it Out on the next Tour (This summer!) put in Nobody's Hero? It is my favorite Rush song!

  • This song is great. The best song on Counterparts.

  • What an intelligent band - both musically and lyrically - amazing!

  • It's such a shame good music like this isn't played any more D:

  • roll the bones at the end

  • I am nobody's hero.............Are you?

  • wow, very nice sound for a boot...

  • How the hell did just three guys create such a wall of sound??

  • 6 people dont like this....tone deaf losers

  • truly musical genius'.....as always.....

  • Why do i love rush so muchhhhhhh

  • I loved this song from about the third or fourth chord

  • I know it is Rush and all, but I just couldn't get that excited about this song :( Better luck next time...

  • @mreyno02 No need to say you know it's Rush, i don't like it either. I like Rush very much, but i'm not stupid enough to foce myself to appreciate everythng they do.

  • Ecxellent audio quality.

  • I was at this show! Missed going to Niagra Falls and getting laid. Well worth it! Been laid by the same girl many times since! These guys were amazing that night!

  • Props to the Etobicoke boys!!! i went to their high school for summer school!!!

  • Really good sound for a bootleg.

  • Rush Kicks ass! I find either you hate them or love them and the haters are just closed minded people.

  • @okwhip the spanish inquisition said the same about god. they (rush haters) aren't worse human beings than you and I for not liking this music.

  • @okwhip anyone who really loves and appreciates good musicianship cannot help but love Rush, also those who love intelligent and meaningful lyrics that do not just simply talk about sex, drugs and rock and roll also listen to Rush for hours on end like i do and always have since the 70's.

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO same here, absolutely agree 100% esp. the lyrics!!!

  • RUSH is not hippie music. it's too progressive. besides, Cartman sings RUSH and he hates hippies.

  • @kohanjin HAHAHA! That made my day! Thank you

  • this is the kind of music I'd picture hippies listening to XD. But ithis if definitely music I can respect. It speaks sense :). Unlike most other trash nowadays.

  • Just love them.allways will.

  • when kids say ooo thats an orange do they say thats a yello when they see a bananna no they jus say let the rock flow from ya geddy ya good thang :)

  • Ever notice the same understanding that Rush fans have? I mean it transcends anything logical but EVERY Rush fan I've ever talked to has the same "thing". I can't understand it or explain it. It's sort of like being told a secret that only a few people know or maybe it's just an awakening of some sorts. I was born with music in my blood and I like SEVERAL bands but there is just something about Rush that is so satisfying! LONG LIVE RUSH!!

  • The sound on this is really good for a boot, thanks for posting!

  • i also saw them in 94..awesome

  • Rush has introduced me to a wider reality. Thank you fellas!

  • That was the first Rush show I ever went to!

  • Class from Superstars of rock...period

  • your friends dad is full of SHIT

  • yeah my friends dad apparently went to high school with two members...lol

  • Like I said, everyone seems to have a Rush story.

  • MASTER

  • Wow, Alex with hair! Great song.

  • love rush!!

check out new band called Underground 360

    just click franknbarbie

  • A friend of mine told me Rush performed at their school like 2 years before they got big and were booed off stage.

    Way to show em, guys!

  • everyone seems to have a rush story. . . He was a substitute teacher at my school in 1983. . . I met Geddy in a bar and he was a prick. . . I play in Geddy's son's baseball league. . . I don't have a Rush story of my own but I wish I did.

  • @MrDdrummon Hey I have a Rush story. I was actually a member of Rush back in about 1971. You see, I'm Alex Lifeson's 3rd cousin twice removed. When I was 8, I begged Cousin Alex to let me play the conga drum in his band. He talked Geddy into it, because they didn't have a drummer yet. They had started writing songs during this time, and I distinctly recall suggesting to Geddy, who was hard up for ideas, the title, "Buddy's Nobody's Hero" because it sounded funny to me. I was voted out.

  • @selatik1 Years later, as a family man, I heard the new Rush song, "Nobody's Hero", and flew into an indignant rage. 20 years later, Geddy had finally realized the truth of my prodigious genius. So, I sued. Geddy called me, and asked how much I wanted to settle out of court and keep it quiet. I said, "Geddy, how 'bout you let me set up my congas next to Neil for a few concert engagements?" "No dice.", came the reply. So I settled for a couple hundred bucks.

  • @selatik1 me to.hehe

  • Wow-can't believe this song came out 15 years ago.

  • greaaat !

  • Love Rush! Always felt disappointed when Alex pretends to be doing the backing vocals though. It`s not necessary, we know it`s triggered.

  • they are putting on a show. Showmanship includes dancing to the strings that the puppet masters are pulling.

  • This song always gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes, I am just in awe of the talent of these guys!!! They are the best.

  • Counterparts is great album!

  • geddys voice rules

  • rush is the best band ever

  • rush is the best band ever

  • RUSH FUCKING RULZ....

  • you r so rigt

  • Much better than Pink Floyd, wish they would come to Britain more.

Neil Peart is the bees knees on the drums and he ain't too bad at lyrics either!

  • Rush is a great band, Pink Floyd is a great band, apples and oranges are not the same !

  • @thankGodforDavidG pink floyd is great no doubt but they are extreamly overated like guns n roses and AC/DC

but the wall was great i will agree with that

  • Classic, Canada's Pink Floyd!

  • is it Progressive Rock?

imho...it's kind of music is too difficult to understand by many people, it's need more brain... cmiiw

  • To Oua8, I guess Van Halen gets your rocks off more than Rush, whatever, you are pompous for badgering guys that are obviously much more talented than you are...you are easily forgettable, and probably not a favorite of the ladies...

  • It's sad when people cannot understand the depth of Rush or other truly talented bands and artists..

but to each their own.. Atleast we get to know the beauty and intelligence of Rush right? ;D

  • @snowfox100 you speak volumes!!!! those of us who understand the depth of Neil's lyrics and words makes it just that much more awesome to listen to them for hours on end as i have been doing for almost 30 some years!!!!

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO If you take the time to truly listen to the songs, you will consistantly find an underlying theme every time. I have been listening to them for close to 30 years and there are so many times that I find new and insightful meanings to their songs...they truly are world class musicians and always will be.

  • @truckie449 yeah, i do, have been listening to rush since 1977,Xanadu reminds me of movie The Lost Horizon, the story about Shangrila, Witch Hunt which talks aobut prejudice and the moral majority, the Manhattan Project, which tells the story of the beginning of the atomic age, and one of my favorites, Show Don't Tell, which talks about how people these days have lost a lot of faith and trust in their fellow men.

  • @truckie449 same here. I find their lyrics so deep. One can always get something out of it i.e. food for thought.

  • @snowfox100 absolutely agree with your comment here. Peart's lyrics are so deep. He is a genius writer. Rush is an awesome band!!!

  • Who ever tagged Neil Peart as the world's 2nd worst lyricist must have an IQ of less than 2012 added together. In my opinion he is one of the best. Unlock the key to the universe dudes stand at the gateway as the RUSH symbol represents, then go through. Time is of the essence. Cheers!!

  • I can understand how you'd think his lyrics don't make sense. You would need ears and a brain to figure out what he's talking about.

  • couldn't agree more atomicsith, (what's wrong with these people who can't appreciate the gift that RUSH give us with each album and performance and can only justify their pitiful existance with criticism?) thanks to the bootlegger by the way, haven't heard this live before now and as usual i ain't dissapointed one bit!!

  • @atomicsith yeah that's for sure LOL. And a 3 digit IQ LOL:DDDD heheh. sorry couldn't resist. Rush is deep.

  • as opposed to who? Your comments have no benefit to anyone, but yourself.

  • @0ua8 lol "forgettable" - oh yeah sure they don't "make sense" they're CODED don't you see? You have to crack the code LOL!!! And you can't crack the Peart code if you're listening to bands that play primarily the E chord all the time!!!! (sarcasm)

  • @audio1358 I was wrong sir.But...Counterparts is really only half an album.I think Rush get bored with the studio process very quickly. Also It was a transitional record from the embers of Presto, which to me echoed a moribund studio way of recording individually and not as a band.BTW only Rush can chart with a song in Gm the most darkest/gloomy key to play in.

  • @0ua8 I thought D-minor was the saddest of all keys... as per the song Lick My Love Pump...

  • yeah neil peart was number 2 on worst lyricist of all time (sting being #1) which bullshit because i think he is one of the best. some people just dont understand the lyrics, they take it too literally instead of metaphorically... RUSH= #1 canadian band ever

  • I live in the states, and damn...maybe just say number one band.

  • I was talking to my uncle during Christmas about how i got into Rush and loved them and he said i stopped listening to them after they had a song about queers. i said het real listen to the song the whole song isn't about gay people. it's true it's a very deep song

  • which song?

  • can't wait till the next concert, it will be my nineteenth ;]

  • i have been a major Rush fan for over thirty years, but ya know what? FUCK THE GAYNESS IN THIS SONG!

  • Neil peart's lyrics are so underrated.....I think they are often overlooked and not appreciated enough......He is so perfect on the lyrics.....he should get a pultzer prize. I like the acoustic guitar in this song.........

  • favorite song! found it on retrospective 3 that i won from a local radio station... LOVE THIS SONG!!! first verse is exactly like me!!! this song is AMAZING!!! wish i could see them live! and Neil Pert... most epic drummer of all time!!! BAR NONE!!! wow, too much to say and only 500 characters to say it in... Fuck I want to hear this song get some radio play! such an amazing song that few (non rush fans) know about. such a powerful message needs to be heard by all!

  • Great vid. The song seems kinda empty without the first solo. Its understandable why he didnt play it though, he wouldnt need to make a quick switch between guitars, but he could have triggered it or something.

  • cool nice post thanks for the pointer nameless1972

  • this is one of their best songs and they are the best live band ever i went to the 30th aneversery tour and it was great

  • its sounds like it did in the studio! Well done!!!

  • RUSH is AMAZING live

saw them June 1st and it was just fantastic, a flawless show

  • Rush is the best

  • WONDERFUL SONG!!! great Video, great Band!!!!

  • VERY well done. One of my favorite Rush songs ever. I've seen them several times live, and it has ALWAYS been a wonderful experience. Geddy Lee is an incredible bassist. I love this song mainly because it deals with things no other band would openly write a song about.

  • i agree with Wntrkill and i also love the fact that there's no live version of this song, besides the one on Different Stages, and that one just wasn't that great.

  • yeah, kinda sucks they didn't play it on the last 3 tours

I really didn't like the sound qulity of the first 2 discs of Different Stages, go figure the 3rd disc was recorded 20 years prior and it souded ten times better
