Alex Grey did not do the animation.

he is not an animator, he is a painter, and performance artist. Though the art in the final sequence is a reference of the album art that alex grey did for them, I'm pretty sure he doesn't do animation work.

You're right, is was bassed off his works, and so was the vid for Vicarious from the 10000days album. In Revolver Magazine they speak of doing more work together, Alex and Adam, this may be hope that Tool will live on, Puscifer recording studeo may be their next home.
