  • How much were the flat irons? Did the relaxers grow your hair ?

  • i just noticed that the song was about your channel haha

  • u really know what u r doing! i wish i could do the same. im trying to learn how to do them myself and i go on youtube for help. your video was the best so far on explaining what to do first and how to do it even if it is a long video. i also liked how u didnt fast forward alot to! great video!(:

  • @ateyaaa what made you switch from affirm no lye relaxer to motions no lye relaxer?

  • Why do some of you relax your hair?

  • When she say's virgin hair she mean's hair that is unpermed or relaxed right?

  • how do you stop your hair from breaking when you go without a relaxer for 5 months?

  • @lolliepopgirl1028 yeah I would like to know the same. I have been without one for 4 to 5 months. My hair is still thick but it brakes a lot.

  • Can you use this brand of relaxer on bleached hair?

  • i just applied the relaxer..it was my first time doing it myself and it came out great thanks ateya!!!!

  • wait, you applied, smoothed your hair, and THEN set your timer? I was with you until that point lol. but beautiful results!

  • Soo gooood.

  • Thanks for the videos! Youre a beautiful person too!

  • I had never put in my relaxer like this. I always started at the front and worked myself back. the relaxer never took well though. Ever. In no time my hair would be curly at the roots. I just tried this today right after watching this video. The relaxer seemed to take really well this time. But I did burn myself a little on my back scalp. Left the relaxer on too long. My hair is in a wrap and tied up with a silk scarf and drying naturally right now.

  • You wouldn't happen to remember how long it took you to flat iron all that hair...huh?

  • love the song

  • i was wondering, do you still use aphogee products nowadays?

  • nice video, lol this was uploaded a day after my birthday from

    last year!:)

  • omgsh i love your hair !!!

  • I have the same density of hair as you. Thanks for the video! Your hair looks great!

  • I watch u all the time I love u so much but from a stylist to another stylist yyy the perm do u kno how bad sodium hydroxide is for your hair do yu kno what it does

  • How much was the flat iron?

  • Hi boo. Question. I just bought Motions and the instructions are telling me not to use on color treated/tint hair. My hair is dyed. What do U think?

  • Where is the blowdryer from?

  • i just got done doing my hair with the same exact perm.so far so good thanks 4 your video.

  • love you hair, so beautiful.

  • thank you sista :)

  • she reminds me of a actress

  • @HelloKitty261000

yeah that model from tyra banks modeling show

  • @ nikii4900 If you relax your hair every two months, I know your hair has got to be thin!

  • She has very nice hair, I dont understand why she uses lacefront weaves but good video.

  • @Syssy18 Protective styling...

  • I Like Your Hair, Nice Video Hun. (:

  • why relax ur hair if ur gonna blow dry it and use a hot iron?

  • WOW AMAZING GOOD JOB, I BE PERMING MY OWN HAIR TOO.

  • I got my hair relaxed yesterday, and it's feeling kinda dry, what can i do to make it more softer? And i did use the motions.

  • I got my hair relaxed yesterday, and it's feeling kinda dry, what can i do to make it more softer?

  • oh really nice job ! Mine turned out incredibly well im letting my hair air dry right now :) I have question though. I just wanted to know why you didnt use some sort of thermal protectant before blow drying/flat ironing your hair??

  • Loved, loved, loved the video! I will be applying my first "at home" perm to save some money and I was encouraged my your video that I CAN do it!.. I just wanted to ask if you had any suggestions for me as far as my ends being frizzy.. Even right after a relaxer my ends FRIZZ.. what can I apply to help ease it?.. Thanks

  • first i wanna say i wish i knew how to do hair like you do...had to say it lol

    but i have 2 questions for u

    1. i havent gotten my hair relaxed in over 2 years, its naturally really curly and medium to long in length but colored....do i need to use the pre-treatment conditioner

and 2. what if i wanna use rollers for the drying process? is it possible?

  • @PRQueen4791 yes you can u the pre treatment conditioner because you have had a relaxer and u can rollers set too

  • I love what you did to your hair it's beautiful.

  • What relaxer is better; Motions at home system relaxer the Organic Root Stimulator no - lye relaxer, or the Dark And Lovely relaxer (all in regular). I have watched a lot of videos of women making tutorials and reviews on these relaxers, but I'm not sure which one to use.

    I have virgin hair.

  • @OfficialKemiMusic use dark n lovely!(:

  • i wish you could do my thair like that lloll im 13 and my hair is long bout lil bit below my sholders and like i hate flat ironing it takeeess to to to long expecially when gettin ready for school its just the worsttttt :( anyy tipss

  • I love how positive Ateya is and how she remains a lady even though some people can get so childish and disrespectful on here!

  • pause at 19:58 funny face haha cool vid imma try this one day

  • ms. ateya, here lately i have been buying a professional perm what could i use for the pre-conditioner that you put on before you perm the hair. as you know nothing comes with the professional perm, but the perm and activator.

  • 1. ateya do you ever get lye relaxers? 2. how do you maintain your hair that long without relaxer. 3. is motions a good perm. please answer all of the questions. i am one of your biggest fans, you help me do my own perm twice now. thank you.

  • your hair has really grown i cant stand relaxers anymore I just think they damage your hair to much

  • i never heard of adding conditioner first is that how they always do that?

  • Who made that songggg for you girl! he sed atey- tripple A ! :D

  • AWESOMEEEE HAIR im jealouss . I use motionsss and it doesnt help -__-

  • i love how you prayed over it...better safe than sorry

  • did u put that on ur scalp???

  • 26 ppl did their at home relaxer wrong lol

  • Not to be mean but after relaxing your hair, you are not supposed to flat iron it.

  • Hey Ateya, do you ever roll set your hair.? Or just blow dry and straighten.?

  • @AQueenIsShe I get mine roll set too I had the same question

  • I wanna know what STAYfURD said.

  • Where can u purchase this same exactt kit at?

  • Hi I'm 11 years old and have wanted my hair like this for years! Can u please tell me a place to get my hair relaxed? 

  • Wow!!! If I were to put on relaxer on my hair... it'd dissolve it completely!! I hate my hair! :) great tutorial, I was searching this for a friend :D

  • HELLO, THIS ONE VERY GOOD THE VIDEO BUT I HAVE A DOUBT, THE ALONE PRODUCT PLACES IN THE ROOT OF HAIR NOTHING MORE, THAT IT IS OF THE REST OF THE HAIR? IS THE PRODUCT ESTECIFICAMENTE WHICH MOTIONS CLASSIC? SUPER? I WAIT COULD ANSWER ME THANK YOU!!!

  • lol @ the prayer on the relaxer.

  • Wow that's amazing. Would it work an my afro? :$

  • i went to the site and i ould not find the relaxers there is only wigs and stuff like that.

  • I LIKE THIS.... I AM GOING TO TRY THIS

  • I'm sorry... My head is FILLED with questions.

I thought that if you use a relaxer, you don't have to straighten it.

And how often would you have to use it?

How long did it take you?!! haha.

Does it give you split ends or damage your hair?

Sorry for all the questions but that's why I made this channel, to comment/ask alot of questions. ^_^ Please reply cuz I need to know :O

  • u have ur own song!?! lol

  • so beautiful reminds me of ashanti!

  • ateeya, i have been watching your videos for a year, and i especially loved your hair regimen videos!i have used your tips, and they are very helpful, but i am afraid to use the motiions relaxer, i had a bad experience with it a few years ago, did they revamp their hair care line, because i can see that you are endorsing their products,so i might give it a try, lol. i also have only been relaxing my hair only 2-3 times a year, and i see that my hair is so healthy.keep up the good work.

  • what song is that. "look the other way" in love lol :))

    & thanksss

  • abuout howlong do you go before puttingn in a new relaxer?

  • you sould have your own hair salon

  • Comment removed

  • u looked like aaliyah at the beginning

  • my mom likes to rub the relaxer in to each new growth section of hair.

after she puts it on the new growth, she'll rub it in a bit and that get's it evenly coated.

  • wow, i think i might have to start using that. ive heard all good things about it. think its time to make that transition :) thanks

  • have u ever used a lye relaxer???

  • I wouldnt get a perm but ur hair looks great.

  • ur hair looks different wen u flat iron it! it looks completely thicker from before u applied da relaxer! wow...

  • my friend is bi-racial and she wants me to do relax her hair for her how long do i need to leave the product on for and she has very long hair!!

  • @jescial It depends on the thickness of her hair, or if she has ever had a relaxer, but usually the time is in the directions it should never be more than thirty though and/or if her scalp is burning you should rinse and neutralize immediately

  • That is so nice and I love it thanks i hope your hair will grow

  • I love your videos. I need you to do my hair for me!

  • nice

  • what do you mean by "if you're virgin hair" ?

  • @mallo496 virgin hair meanss if your hair has never had a relaxer before or if you natural

  • @mallo496 Virgin hair is hair that hasnt ever been permed/relaxed

  • Just did my first at home relaxer by following your video and is sooooo happy with the results. Your video is on point and your hair is beautiful. Thank you for this it saved my hair.....I moved from CT. to HI. and there are next to no hair salons that handle our hair and the one I called said $100 for a relaxer not styling or blow dry included. SO.. thank you so much my hair is beautiful thanks to your help.

  • phonyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Where'd you get that satin wrap cap?

  • omg your hair grew I love it

  • This video was very helpful, thanks for helping me achieve thee same great look!!

  • LOL, Gon gurl shake it out! lol

Thank you so much for the video and for NOT fast forwarding, you are awesome!

    Healthy natural hair rules!

  • hello ateeya

i love your hair so much

can you please tell me what is the size of your curler (diameter)?

    thanks

  • love your background music

  • You're really pretty =]

  • If you want your hair too grow thicker and longer, please relax your hair twice a year!! Once every six months and with that process, you will see how long and thick as well healthy it can grow without relaxing as much!!

  • @MissJacque87 i agree, i do the same.my hair is so healthy.

  • @MissJacque87 Yes!!!! My old stylist wanted me to relax every 3 months cause it was better for my hair...WRONG! My hair would brake so bad. Now I relax every six months and along with a good flat iron, that I only use after I wash my hair, you can't tell if my hair was done six weeks or six months ago.

  • @MissJacque87 I totally agree with you, I had a short hair cut last summer when I first started watching her. Her hair was a nice chin length, now our hair is the same length and she had a good head start. I not officially a year until July 26th there's no way we should have the same length of hair.

  • @rashla71 soo im guessing you missed then video where she got a hair cut?? and dhe never said her goal was to grow long hair

  • @juicylovee24 awh, did I pinch a nerve with you. Like I said! she had a good head start, another person on here suggested she stretch her perms longer and I agreed. That does not mean I don't like her or find her video's un-educational. But since you feel the need to address something she didn't bother to address that tells me one thing about you. You must be a mess and had to defend your self a lot and now you think your a super hero for all. will you feel better if I say sorry. SIKE.

  • @rashla71 what are you talking about?

  • @MissJacque87 yes but what about the people who are going to school etc. who really dont have the time to manage all that thickness every morning, yea your right but sorry, got to stick to relaxing every 2months

  • @nikii4900 I relax ever 4 weeks--My hair is extra thick and it just sucks that relaxer up

  • Comment removed

  • Can someone please tell me if your supposed to

  • I like the video but I relly wish you didnt play the musice in the background. It takes away from the video.. I am a sound engineer and vidoe producer.. and trust me the musice is really not needed.. It was was to loud and irritating when your trying to watch the video.. other then that the tuturial was ok..

  • and do you know any tips for ppl like me who cant keep a perm on any lonqer than 5 minutes ?

  • ur hair looks absolutely stunninq and healthy

  • Thus just about how I do mine as well about 90% to be exact... Good job.

  • your hair is pretty

  • Ateyaa, girl keep maintaining and doing your thing. Let those HATERS hate because we all needs them to keep us going strong and allowing us to seek even higher ground. Haters keep it coming, cause without you guys we would not know how good Ateyaa has it. Love you, Ateyya

  • I love you girl!!!! You are a big help to all women of color. May God bless

  • I love Motions hair products! They brung my hair back from Hell literally! My hair was damaged from braids, weaves (glue and sewins), fighting at the club (pulled out, just keeping it real) dyes, hella hot flat irons, neglect, weather and all. I tried Aphogee products and it just wasn't happening. So I switched over to Motions and wollaaa, heaven effects! Yes! My hair is coming back, I'm watching you girl for tips and how to's. Now I'm on the right path, Thank You Ateya!

  • Is there a tutorial you have on How the results on Motion Relaxer.

  • at 19:36 everybody has those clips but me...

where people be geting those from, I need some badly !

  • Great video, I will be trying Motions relaxer when it is time for my relaxer, and nice song also!!! (For the haters please look the other way) Lol (:

  • wooow your hair is so beautiful, looks so healthy. I've been gettin at home perms for years and I use Motions alot. But since I recently moved I'm on my own and about to do it myself for the first time. This video really helped! Thanks!!!

  • I know I am asking this kindof late but do you use some sort f heat protectant on yur hair before blowdrying and flat ironing

  • Your Hair Is BEAUTIFUL .

Aweee You Look Like A Little Kola Beaar . lOl(:

  • I'm on a 9 months or one year stretch that started 11.11.10 at the of my stretch I want my hair to look fabulous like yours so I will be sure get that new motions relaxer and watch til video again. Your hair looks amazing girl!!!!!

  • how long do you have to wait when air drying to blow drying ?

  • Why waste $75-$100 on hair every 3-5 weeks when you can do it perfectly at home

  • @SuperNancy90210 i agree and they always mess up when i go to a hairsalon. they overlap and overprocessed so not healthy, i started doing my own hair and my hair is thanking me

  • @SuperNancy90210 should be 6-8 weeks

  • Anyone answer this question, I'm getting a relaxer for the first time around december. Do I need to apply the relaxer like Ateya did? or do I apply the relaxer from the roots to the end?

    Thanks(:

  • @x0HahYourFace If i'ts your first perm EVER than yes apply the relaxer from roots to ends but I recommend going to a professional your first time.

  • @MissRobinson26 yeah and being a relaxed virgin, you should always start from ends to roots. never start at the roots because you scalp may start to get irritated in the middle of the relaxer, then you'll have to rinse it and your hair will look a hot mess because some arts will be under proccessed.

  • Comment removed

  • @ExotiqBeautii Agreed :)

  • @x0HahYourFace apply froom roots to the ends... but im a hair stylist and i reall recommend you to let a professional do it.. atleast for the first time..

  • @x0HahYourFace New growth ( roots ) to ends, if youve never had 1 before

    =]

  • everyone who relaxes needs to watch this video. STOP PUTTING RELAXER ON YOUR ENDS, and then wondering why your hair "just wont grow".....smh.

  • I love Motions products been using for years. I do like the new look to the products and the added products. I haven't tried the Motions new relaxer yet because I'm trying to keep my hair natural because I had some hair breakage from bonding weave, so I'm trying to get my hair back to a healthy state, but I'm going t try real soon!. I still shampoo and condition with Motions. Love your videos Ateya keep doing your thing!!!

  • im mad cuz i did everything before watching the video and its a Sunday and my hair is jacked up:(

If i had watched this video before then i wouldnt be in this position

  • Comment removed

  • how did you maintain your hair during those 5 months without a relaxer or is that particular relaxer that good at what it does for your hair?

  • Can ur flat iron curl?

  • girl, u hair turned out beautiful!!! =)

  • lol..hahaha i love the fact tht u filmed it outside lol

  • i never understood y she curls the hair right after flat ironing..if you want more body u should just roller set and then do a saran wrap.but anyways ur hair is fabolous

  • I LOOOVEEEE the little pray part!

    Ateyaaaa we loooove you!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @naaradou123 ateyaaa, i always watch your videos, and i have followed alot of your tips, but i don't know if i'm going to try the motions relaxer, because i had a bad experience with it a few years ago. i also only perm my hair 2 times a year, and my hair is sooo much more healthy.keep up the good work girl.

  • I used the application tips and my hair came out great! Thanks so much!

  • Wow I wish my hair can look like that after 5 months, I think I'll give this product a try, I like the results and very anxious to try it out myself! My current relaxer has lost its magic on my hair, I'll give this product a try! Thanks!

  • i just wanted to know why you put vaseline onto your edges and i havent had a perm for about 14 years is it safe for me to get one?

  • @Butterphly22 vaseline creates a barrior between the relaxer and ur skin so the relaxer doesnt burn ur skin. its called a base. she didnt actually put it on her hair just on the skin. i burn very easily so i actually base my entire scalp. and yes it is very safe for u to get a relaxer. im assuming all of ur hair is natural, so i would recommend getting ur first relaxer done professionally. take it from someone who damaged their hair trying to go from natural to relaxed on their own.
