  • The HIghway of Heroes is Hwy 401, or the McDonald Cartier Freeway.

  • My wife is Canadian. \m/

  • EH OH CANADA GO!!! GOLD FOREVER BABY!!!!!

  • God Bless Canada! Truly, the land of the FREE and home of the BRAVE! Proud to be CANADIAN!!

  • @svoteary You like provoking people, don't you?

  • @IsisStarlights Tell me what is "provoking" when I stand up and show pride in my home country? If americans can do it 24/7, why cant I?

  • @svoteary

Number 1: "Americans" don't do it all the time; It's just a specific group of obsessed people.

Number 2: Isn't Canada "True North, Strong and Free"? I'm not that saying you can't be proud; Not at all. You should be proud. It's a beautiful country. But calling yourself the TRUE "Land of the free, home of the Brave", when you know that's the motto of US... Really?

  • @IsisStarlights yea but understand, we dont go around to other countrys shooting them up just because they may have a difference of opinions or might not like us. americans do just to protect something they THINK they have ... when in reality, they have NOTHING

  • @svoteary ...And your rant proves my point about being provocative. This video is about the friendship and history between our two nations. If you want to discuss politics, then go to some other video and do it there.

  • @IsisStarlights interesting you f**ked up american you are ... someone else proclaims that their nation is better than yours and you tongue lash them for standing up for pride. The olympics had NOTHING to do with us/Canada ambassadorship. If thats the case, we'll gladly accept your half of the payment due forthwith for hosting the dammed things. If I were a f**ked up american proclaiming the tired stars and stripes, youd be right there cheering. Now its the Red and Whites turn! Move over!

  • @svoteary You're determined to have a fight over nothing, aren't you?

  • @IsisStarlights No its not a fight. But it is like trying to explain international brotherhood and politics to an american who cant see past their own perverted interest

  • @IsisStarlights It doesnt say TRUE before land of the free and home of the brave moron, We are the TRUE NORTH STRONG AND FREE, very different from land of the free and home of the brave, besides your anthem is about war a death..obviously thats all americans care about.

  • @iLuvBarRefaeli You're misunderstanding my comments. "True North, Strong and Free" is EXACTLY what I said if you go back and read it. In fact, that was my point. I was trying to correct the Canadian gentleman who was trying to claim the slogan "Land of the free, home of the Brave" and by saying they were the TRUE land of the free home of the brave. So I called him provocative. Not once did I insult Canada. In fact, I complemented it. And yet he still went off on me. Read the FULL exchange...

  • @IsisStarlights P.S.: The national anthem is about SURVIVING the war for independence. Just an FYI...

  • we like it when americans talk about us lol.

  • As a Minnesotan and huge Hetalia fan, I LOVE YOU, CANADA!

  • That made me proud of my contry :)

As any true Canadian would know

    "True patraiot love"

    Peice in all the world

  • We are getting out of Afghanistan in 2011, ... no renewals ... no changing our minds this time.

  • As a Canadian, I beleive the US is our innate sibling, look beyond the economic, military and cultural ties. We are two countries that share a geography, and while intentionally unique, brothers forever. I hope we can continue to be so for a long time. The only thing I wish against the US is that wee continue to beat them in hockey :) (Sid the Kid ftw!!) lol

  • @16bigred thank you as a Canadian myself i think that needed to be said to end this stupid argument over whose better!

  • Canada was ranked one of the top 5 countries in the world for the past 10 years!....

  • i love Canada! I have lived there all my life.. and never plan to move!! its so beautiful!

  • Actually... the England's Head of State (a.k.a. Queen Elizabeth II) IS Canada's head of State (same as Australia and New Zealand, I think...). But because she's there and we're here, the position of the Governor-General is here to be the "Queen's Representative". In the past, it was appointed by England. Of course, now that it's all symbolic because we are "independent" from Mother Britannia, it's the Canadian PM who appoints it. But we still see Queen Elizabeth as our head honcho.

  • r3ginasimon

    sad huh..

  • why is it sad?

I would rather have a queen than a president any day. It's our identity, it's what's different between us and the US.

On average it costs each Canadian ~$80 a lifetime to keep the monarchy.

Don't know about you, but I would pay $80 a lifetime for all of the traditions and benefits of being in the commonwealth.

  • @3x0rcyst3m

How bout just having a prime minister and keeping the 80$? How bout being fully sovereign? Nahh, lets all be part of the great british empire!.. loyalists should be shot, that I agree with the states, but thats me

If you think the olg hag is what makes us different from the US, well its pretty sad to be you. You do know they still consider us a colony right? im starting to think that the french are the only ones who really want to build something different from Britan or the States

  • why dont you do some research on Canadas identity, then post a comment.

  • *facepalm*

  • Eh? Why would it be sad? Just because the Queen is our symbolic leader doesn't make us less sovereign. I would imagine that you as an American would be more aware of how hard Canada asserts our sovereignty with our own hands (most especially after Britain screwed us over and betrayed us on the Alaska-British Columbia border issue).

  • and dont forget that we follow the crack pot ideals of the US in climate changes, wich is: If im not affected directly by it.. fuck it-- end quote. We also fight their wars, Afganistan??? wtf are we doing there?? we are peace keepers!! great way to lose that reputation when you follow the US in a oily war. support the troops, bring em home. And speaking of the olympics, all built on stolen native land. not to mention that the french heritage was greatly ignore during opening and closing ceremony

  • @maxthecat122 Research the facts. Afghanistan does not produce any oil. And peace keeping is what we do between wars. Go back into your hole and keep smoking that pot moron. Soooo annoying!

  • @Michael500ca *facepalm Afghanistan runs important oil pipes in the region, controlling them means controlling the oil flow throughout the middle east. Second, the shit hole of a country is the back yard to Russia, China and Pakistan, all nuclear powers. You can't win afganistan. Get the fuck out, let China and Russia clean there own fucking backyard. What are we? Janitors? pfft. You say peace keeping between wars, like we are often a war. Blind sheep.

  • @maxthecat122 Blind sheep? Sucking cocks? (in my personal email I might add...eeww). You have some major issues man! Nuclear powers? Irrelevant! You use them you lose everything. You might be a janitor, but I am a patriot. "Let pull our troops out and everything will be ok and then we can have some ice cream later". You are the blind one. Blind and ignorant.

  • Why do people say "america and canada bla bla bla" ???

Are we that polite? First, Canada IS part of america... so is Mexico, Brazil and so on. America is the continent!! stop this imperialist wording! at least canada and the states or someting like that. Canada needs to stand on its own and developpe its own culture, not just copy and adapt what the states do all the time.. for crying out lound, the only culturaly active province is Quebec!! and thats because they're french!

  • @maxthecat122 I feel that, if you looked into Canadian culture more deeply, you would find that there are many great differences between us and Americans. You'd also find that each province has their own type of culture - Quebec's is just different than the others. What about the Nova Scotians' ties back to Scotland? Or the vast amount of Aboriginal heritage? Don't generalize us without first knowing what you're talking about.

  • @emillogical

First, I am an american, but im sure you ment the States, not the continent. And what is the type of culture you'd find in each province? Canadian Idol? 24 playing everywhere? Harper wishing he was born in the US? Quebec is different because they're not sucking the US for tv, movies, music and litterature... good litterature. What about Nova Scotia? fishing quotas and underdeveloppement gave them a 60% unemployment rate, oh oh... and the natives? lol all locked up in slum reserves.

  • Whatever. You're taking a video that points out positive things about Canada and making it negative. Is every country perfect? No. However, you need to know when to argue your point. A youtube video is hardly the place to rant about your problems with Canada. I responded because your outlook saddens me - someone like you who can only see the negative in a situation clearly needs to learn how to see the positive once and a while. Good luck with that.

  • Have you visited Canada? There is a distinct difference between the United States and Canada. I've discussed this with friends and family, all agree....as soon as we cross the border from Canada into the U.S....we know we are now in the U.S.A. ...Is it purely psychological? maybe due to the intimidating American customs agents, regardless I am always into "lock the car door" mode afterwards. This simply is not something I do while in Toronto, Canada's Largest City.

  • Actually, if you look closely... the US claimed the names "America" for yourself. And if you look even more closely in US-Canadian cultures... it's actually the US who claims that Canada imitates "American" culture... while all the while, Canada try our darndest to distinguish ourselves separate from the US.

  • There's this joke about how you distinguish an American and a Canadian...

If you mistake an American for a Canadian, you just get a puzzled look.

But if you mistake a Canadian for an American, be prepared for an outraged rant about the differences between Americans and Canadians.

And as you can tell from this thread... it's not really a joke, is it? ^____^

  • That's not exactly true, I mean, I'm Canadian, but if someone mistakes me for an American, I just say, "I'm Canadian, actually."

  • Great video!

  • Canada and the U.S. = best friends for life.

  • I love how all the APH fans are lurking around here <3

  • Hell yes. they are my OTP, and I'm from the States. It's canon, you know? ;)

  • @SaiHakkaifan yess I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. XD

  • Oh dude, ALL those celebrities they showed were Canadian?! Somehow I love Canada even more than beore @__@ ♥♥♥

    America&Canada = bros for life! ♥

  • @VTimesTwo

yeah, thats because everything we do, the states take and calls it theirs.

  • CANADA AND AMERICA FOR THE WIN!!!

  • i cant wait to be a police officer in Toronto and help preserve the peace in a oh so great country.

  • Comment removed

  • I just wish when we try to cross the border into the USA they show us some respect and stop harassing us. after all ,we're fighting their war in Afghanistan

  • @uhuru27 I gave this a thumbs-up and I'm American.

  • dam right. never have been beaten on the battle grounds. up the scottish

  • Bros before hoes everyone.

  • @NAPPOTUNA I knew it, you're a Hetalian. :D

  • @haibaraan

    Of course. > u >

  • The people are awesome, the land is pretty...we couldn't ask for a better neighbor than Canada! We love you, Canada! <3 Bros forever! ;3;

  • Great little bit about USA/Canada relations, Canada really is a beautiful country with beautiful people. We Americans are very luck to have such a great country as a nabor! =D

  • I completely agree!!!

  • Great idea!!! I would LOVE for the USA to become Canadians!

  • This really makes me think why dont we all just become one country?

  • Although USA and Canada are culturally similar, we have some differences that would make it difficult to be one country.

    1. Canada's head of state is not the democratically elected Prime Minister, but rather a descendant of the Monarch, whom is the Queen at the moment.

    2. The Canadian banking system is heavily regulated by the federal government.

    3. Canada's two official languages. That means all federal services and publications have to be provided in both English and French.

  • 4. Most of Canada's legal system is based on the British system, with the exception of Quebec.

    5. Canada has a ban on handguns, a right that is heavily defended in the US constitution.

    6. Canada's multi-cultural policy is at odds with the American melting-pot policy.

In closing, it's better for Canada and USA be good neighbours rather than become one big country. Most of our interests are quite similar, but being two separate countries is actually a good thing for both Canada and USA. :)

  • Agreed in most of your points... except the handguns. They're not really banned in Canada, we're just more strict on who gets to carry them around. And to be quite honest, majority of Canadians don't really see the need to own them as much as Americans. We are similar with the US in a lot of ways, but most of our values are quite different. Canada and the US evolved as two completely different entities. As a Canadian, I'm very much proud to be one and prefers to remain as such.

  • Plus, I don't think the US will agree with our liberal POV on gay marriage, marijuana, and how we like to adapt the good parts of socialist ideals to our advantage...

  • Let's come together now that we know how much we have in common, and save our lands from becoming just another souless economic union ... power back to the people!

  • BROOOOOOOS. <3 This makes my heart happy.

I quite like how the way they made it sound like everything above that 90% of residence near the USA is batshit cold. xD

  • Alfred and Matthew, best bros, da. ;w;

  • Geez, Canada does all this good stuff but hardly anyone talks about it. Canada's a great unsung hero!

  • Yes, but we get a wonderful welcome globally. The U.S. does a lot of great work and most charities, humanitarian work, peace keeping, and global stability is provided by the U.S. and yet they unfortunately don't get a proper thank you.

A lot of the great reception we get from different countries is due in large to U.S. citizens philanthropy. I just wish some days between the U.S. bashing that even we Canadians are guilty of, people take a moment and thank the U.S.

  • Well of course we shouldn't bash them but we happen to be more stabilized then the USA globally at the moment. I hope our neighbor gets better soon :(

  • It's these times when Canadians are given respect when I really feel proud.

It's not everyday that we're given any notice for what we've done :)

  • This made me feel more proud to be Canadian than ever before. Brought a tear to my eye.

    Thank you, America!

  • Thank yo so much for posting. I nearly went into shock something good being said about us after the GOP crazies this summer.
