I just came across an old VHS tape I recorded in 1981 or so, of them doing this song on 'New Wave Theatre"(USA TV?)...those were very cool day to be alive.
Can it Sythnpop, call it New Wave, back in the day they called it Modern Rock; a cross over between New wave and Sythnpop mixed, haven't you ever listen to WLIR (Off the Boat Music) back in 1980 to 83.
ODW is one of the lost groups of the early 80's new wave scene. I remember hearing all their stuff at Depalo's in White Plains, NY when I was about 15 (1982). Somehow I got in to that place and drank, of all things, Tom Collins by the pitcher. Great memories. Yes, where is Red Alert!
woooaah , i can't believe how immediately this whole song came back to me as soon the lyrics started.
I probably haven't heard this since the mid 80s & i doubt I have ever even thought about it BUT it is totally in my mind because it totally jumped out in it's full glory.
Now "lawn chairs" ,on the other hand, I would know that i could recognize that & know the song from my mind
this happend when you smoked weed on the 80's

I love this song.
Definitely the 80s were the best years of synth pop.
