I don't see the point of blowing up a plane with a bunch of these passengers. Why would a terrorist network try to blow up a plane that is en route to Detroit, Illinois. The city is dying. There is almost no commercial business going on in that city. If Al-Qaida is behind this, then they are stupid for not planning it better

He was being coached the whole time by someone to side of camera. Early the interview was easy because all he was doing was feeding them the overall story. When asked to describe the perpetrator he used the word "entranced," at which point he sucked in air through his teeth like he had made a big mistake, and looked at person(s) to side of camera who obviously told him to cut of interview at that point; he then said, "I don't want to talk about that anymore, sorry." Also no pain from burns? Wow.

Remember to be skeptical when watching videos like this. Jasper gave only one interview so far, to my knowledge, and it did not go well for him on CNN. He was very uncomfortable with the situation he had been put in. Contract that with an interview a passenger named Miranda gave to CNN. She is very calm, tells the same story, but with such a broad amount of detail. Uncanny that they would find her to do the interview. It all just seems strange. I hope not, but I am skeptical.

I share your skepticism about the press :D but his story is not being contradicted by the other passengers, of whom at least a view dozen must have had a good view.

I wouldn't say that he was in on any deceptive plot. I was thinking more along the lines of a few people knowing what was going to happen and relying on human instinct to intervene. I'm sure what they say happened really did happen, but who knew about it, and, to what extent, was he coached for the interview. He looked strangely uncomfortable.

What would the typical passenger in that section have seen?

Even with the coaching this guy sounds suspicious.

What happened, I think is that the bomb just didn't go off and that Jasper, being a bit a racist, already had his eye on this guy.
