  • hey i have a 1985 350 x in need to change the front caliper.does a 1986 350 x fit? can any one help? thanks!

  • Hey,I am missing the pin for my brake pads on the front brake of my 2003 ktm 125sx.Do you guys sell these along with the pins on your website?

  • @rideskisallday - yes we sell them on our site. I have a bunch in stock for $5.99. part # for your bike is 1112940005.

  • @RockyMountainATVMC okay thanks. In the spring I think I am going to order a LOT of stuff from your site to freshen up my bike.

  • @rideskisallday - I think you should!

  • @RockyMountainATVMC I think so too :)

  • Thanks for making these videos. Very helpful for giving confidence to novice owner mechanics.

  • thank you, that helped a lot

  • thank you helped alot

  • what can i do to just loosen the brake pads because the pads all the way pushed up against the brake disk and if you try and spin the front wheels they will not spin

  • @superjew37 - it is normal to slightly rub. However, if they are tight, you may need to pull the cap from the master cylinder to let excess oil out.

  • hey i just ordered a new set of tusk pads. But i am concerned because the piston does not seem to want to go back a bit wen u let off the break. so the pads are still on the rotor causing friction and wearing them down. what could this be?

  • @outsidedude1 - remove your master cylinder cap when you push the piston in (when installing the new pads). you may have too much oil in the system. This happens when someone fills the reservoir with worn out pads.

  • @RockyMountainATVMC ok I will try that thanks

  • Do HOnda Atv,s have different reservours for the enginge and transmission oil or do they get the iol from the same reservour. please write back

  • @gordo082302 - it depends on the honda.

  • what if one of the pistons is stuck in the out position? I've tried to push it back in, but it doesnt move a bit.

  • @ailll1 - You may have too much oil in the line. Take off the master cylinder cap and then try to compress the piston.

  • I have a 2006 yz 250. i just put new rear brakes on it and the outside brake pad is wearing down way faster than the inside one.. is that normal?

  • @Monsterenergy8771 - it is not normal. I would guess your caliper is not moving side to side freely. The caliper floats on two pins. I would pull it apart and clean them.

  • @RockyMountainATVMC Alright thanks! you guys are a great help!

  • @Monsterenergy8771 yeah the same happened with my 125 i took the slides bolts out and cleaned them up and it seemed to help a little bit

  • Not only do my Australian trailbike friends buy goods from RockyMountainATV over the internet but now i find they also have these handy info vids on Youtube....well done RockymntainATV

  • @gasgasLex - Thanks a lot! Even though we are based in the U.S., we have a lot of great customers in Australia. We really appreciate you guys!

  • hey can i get thos front brake pins for honda 350x ,from u guys..cause i have on that has 2 threads to come out and wont come any futher and on with stripped head that is still in cailper.what do you think i should do?

  • have u ever heard of a suzuki front tire breaks tightened up and fron tire wont move please write back

  • okay, thank you.

  • I have a 2001 Kawasaki Mojave 250. The front breaks quit working recently. The brake fluid must have leaked out, and last time I rode it, i noticed that the pads were smoking. Also, when you pull the break lever, it doesn't engage the breaks. Can anyone give me some help?

  • @Bu113t4myVal3nt1n3 - Do you still have pressure in the brake system? If your lever is mushy, the fluid is leaking out somewhere and you need fix it. If fluid leaked on the pads, the pads will be ruined.

  • @RockyMountainATVMC Okay, thank you. :) I will probably have to get new pads then. So should I just get a new line for the fluid, or could I patch it?

  • @Bu113t4myVal3nt1n3 - If the line is leaking. you will need a new one.

  • have an old 1991 kx 125 and the back brakes dont stop very well can u tell me what the problem might be? do the brakes just not have much stopping power or what?

  • @DylanAndersen - have you tried new brake pads?

  • @RockyMountainATVMC they have new ones on it btw thanks for the reply

  • @DylanAndersen - what kind? have they ever got oil on them?

  • @RockyMountainATVMC i forget what kind and i dont think so but my exhaust is pouring oil out of it so that could be a possibility

  • @DylanAndersen Same thing happenned to my 01 kx 125, i couldn't work out why my brakes weren't working so i went ahead and rebuilt both the master cylinders and calipers with all new seals and replaced the brake lines. Not very expensive but it's a c*nt to put the seals on the master cylinder pistons. LoL

  • @MyUnderSlungLink i got a new master cylinder on the back but they stop fine u just have to push the lever to the ground lol

  • Rocky Mountian.......Perfect Video.....short and to the point......everything I needed to know !

  • my piston wont move... on yours the piston goes right in?

  • @Solefresh345 - try removing your reservoir cap. you may be over filled with brake fluid so it has no where to go.

  • @RockyMountainATVMC i actually have the whole caliper off with the hose disconected and the old brake fluid drained.... what else could it be? there is still old brake fluid in the hose that connects to right about the brake lever ( not sure what its called)

  • @Solefresh345 - unless this is an ATV with a park brake that you didn't loosen up, I don't know. Sounds like the piston is stuck.

  • It´s a very good video for my Technical English classes.Thank you very much.

  • thanks for the vidd very help full

  • its ok RockyMountainATVMC!

  • Thanks for the help

  • mudbug1356; you should releave the pressure from the brake lines, try removing the brake fluid reservoir cap or removing some of the brake fluid!

  • Sorry Ricky, I didn't notice you were writing to mudbog. you are absolutely right!

  • Thank you very much for the informative videos. Being mechanically inclined, it is such a pleasure to see someone else perform a task and explain the problems that might be incurred. We do our best to purchase most of our bike needs through you. Great prices, and excellent gear. Thank you, keep them coming!

  • Thanks for your comments. I have more coming - just having a hard time finding time to edit.

  • i cannot get my brake pistons to go into the caliper so i can replace my brakes what should i do

  • your videos are awesome! very informative and makes repairs A LOT easier thankyou!!

  • Thanks for your videos.. Has helped alot.

  • ok..well were are u guys located at....even if i get new brake pads i cant even get the bolts off the rims of the wheel...there too tight!

  • We are in utah, but you can order online.

  • ok...but how much would the brake pads cost and were do i get them..i dont really want to go to a dealership or nothing...i was hoping it would be like at napa ..autoparts..or advance autoparts or somthing..

  • we have good Neutron brand brake pads for $9.25. We also sell other brands as well.

  • yeah..i have a 400ex honda..and my brakes are wearing down..i dont know wat to do ...replace my brake pads or put some brake fluid..

  • If the pads are worn down, adding brake fluid won't do anything. I would go with new pads.

  • how can i remove the brakes on a 82 honda 110 atc

  • Great video. RockyMountainATVMC is the best!! I had to recently exchange an outfit I bought for my son and it was so easy. I don't buy gear anywhere else. You guys are awesome and I appreciate these videos greatly.

  • Hi, I was just about to go change the rear pads on my 2001 KX85. The hex nuts are solid, both me, my brother and my father have tried to remove them with no luck. They've just rounded. Is there anyway that I'll be able to remove them or will I need to purchase a new caliper? I'll be happy enough to buy a new one if I can find one. Do you know where I can get one from?

  • on my rm250, i changed the front pads and when i was pumping the front lever to push the brake pads back and the little piston that the lever pushes in, its stuck inside, is there any way i can get it out?

  • I have never seen one stick inside. do you have pressure in the line? can you push it in any further to loosen it up?

  • there is alittle bit of pressure after i pump it few times then when i bleed it it shoots a stream then nothing comes out

  • i did this with my 87 rm 250 cause the brake bads were to the metal and some of the brake fluid leaked from the piston and they wont work cause i cant get the brake fluid to pump up

  • You need a new piston seal it sounds like.

  • sei grande!!un magoooo..grazie delle dimostrazioni pratriche..

  • Hey, thanks for the video and will these tips help my 2002 cr125?

  • where can i get free service manaul to the net?

  • Thanks so much for that. Been having a bit of trouble installing my pads but that clears everything up. Very helpful

  • hey is that a 05 crf250r

  • Real close! It is an '05 CRF250X.

  • so it will basically be the same

  • are those the same steps for a crf 250 2006? same torque power ect?

  • yep!

  • hey um i was just wondering, i ride a RM 85 and is this the same wy i would do it.??

    Thankx..

  • It should be similar. Refer to your service manual.

  • u legends, thanks alot very helpfull. im glad someone took the time to help alot of other people, keep the vids up (y)

  • thanks! i was told i had to take the front wheel off to change brakes. you just saved me a ton of time!

one question. Does RockyMountain own TUSK??

and maybe you should take ATV out of the title?

  • You guys rule, very helpful videos!

  • im about to do the brakes on my friends 2005 honda rincon 650 4x4.....the people who he lets ride it tear up the bike and the brakes.....how do you know when the rotors need to be replaced on the back......also the front drums....any help would be appreciated because i have never done brakes on an atv before...only cars and trucks

  • on one of my bikes the piston wont go in even if i push it with the screw driver

  • Is there a park brake? If so back it off. There is a chance as the pads wore down more oil was added to the reservoir. Because it is full the piston can't compress in. Try removing the reservoir cap and trying it. Have a rag ready for oil that may spill out of the cap. If it isn't that, have a mechanic check it out.

  • Thanks Rocky Mountain. you are the best!

  • Useful as always :)
