He's full of shit. The original Frankenstrat started out as a 60's Fender Strat with a rosewood fretboard. I've got pics of him playing it back in the club days with a white pickguard and very few stripes on it. At some point he stuck the cbs neck on it. that whole 130.00 boogie bodies story is a crock of shit.

I wonder why they dropped the D2H tailpiece from the "coming soon" section on the evhgear website. It's supposed to drop the whole guitar down in sync and can even bend chords down with a lever. That might have pissed off Gibson/Steinberger because they own the patent for the "TransTrem" which pretty much does the same thing, only with a tremolo bar.

I use to own an original EVH Musicman awsome guitar,got strapped for cash and had to sell it.I wish I still had it Peavy version was not the same in my opinion.I like Ed has hooked up with Fender but the price tag is way to high for his guitars with them.

Eddie use to fish out scrap fenders from their reject stock to make his own hybrid guitar...

He liked Gibson for their better sounding pick ups and even tried to attach a Gibson vibrato bar on a guitar he made but it failed resulting in destroying a beat up gold top Les Paul in his attempt to make his own type of guitar.(very creative)

He has always liked Fender guitars but only for their neck and body.

Maybe they will make a brown sound pick up and vibrato bar that he tried to make.

I do know about guitars. I don't give a flying fuck about what You think.. My thoughts are based on my experiences of playing many examples of each of his guitars. I didn't like the music man because it was a flat top. The edge of the top is uncomfortable to my arm. I also hated the pickup tone. I did like the neck. Many wolfgangs were arch tops. Had a neck that felt better to my hand. And much better pickups to my ear. I liked nothing about the Kramer.One god awfull guitar

@jem7772 lol he may be "burnt out" but he can sure play circles around me and you and anyone else out there. as far as his guitars go...there ain't a better guitar out there. they're so easy to play and the most comfortable guitar on the market. i don't care if it's a 130 dollar guitar sold for 3 grand. i don't have one yet but i've played them and they're great. i have 2 of the peavey wolfgangs and both brands are the best playing and sounding guitars out there. EVH knows what he's doing.

The music man guitar is one of the best ever! along side the Les Paul. Just go back to 1991 at the begining of the FUCK tour and he commented"Honest to god, I dont care if anyone buys em or not, at least I got guitars I like"

Ed should have stuck with high quality workmanship and superior tone but he had to go bigger on the production

Ya especially since he is at the same level(if not even better) than he was on the Balance tour. He got so good over the last half of the tour. By the Quebec Festival he was unbeleivable. I was also shocked the new GW cd with the feature on his new guitar didn't have him playing it. Its like yeah Ed...please shut up and play your damn guitar Mr. Musician.

I agree with new tech, but there's something special about classic instruments. I always fall back to my all time fav. My 1973 Gold Top Les Paul deluxe early april issue. Sounds like no other guitar.
