Yes,all of the software for Windows Vista works on Windows 7. And also all of the Windows XP software will work on Windows 7. So there is nothing that you cannot do on Windows 7. And I cannot fault it at all. Windows XP is also good but Windows Vista, I have not found good. Windows Vista is very slow and has a lot of problems. So you are better off to ditch Vista and install Windows 7,if you can. Andrea Borman.
As for leaving it without protection you can't compare a Mac to a PC how many more PC's are there compared to Mac's. Hence the people that make the viruses will most likely attack windows machines just because there are more of them.

Nice observations, but you shouldn't be too worried about viruses. In all honestly, it is really just common sense. The only people I know that actually have gotten viruses was through porn sites, unsafe torrents, and just generally being stupid. Other than a few viruses in Windows 98, it's been over 10 years since I've gotten a virus. So you shouldn't have to be too worried. That doesn't mean I don't scan though, I do on occasion. Cheers!

as for windows 7, i agree its a big step from vista because I used the bete on a friends laptop with 2gb ram and it was way faster then my vista machine with 3gb. It also has some pretty cool features!
i dont like wat i see too much. to give a simple xample i wanted to install photoshop cs4 and hack it but when i tried to run the setup button that came from adobe it did not work it just stared at me as for being more secure nope its still based on vista with the registerys and DLLs so will see when this bitch hits the market
I think it will be more secure for a while simply because it will be new. I think we will really start to see malware for 7 about a year or so in. I'm just now starting to see a lot of malware for vista machines.

I think it will be more secure for a while simply because it will be new. I think we will really start to see malware for 7 about a year or so in. I'm just now starting to see a lot of malware for vista machines.
