This version is "okay" and, yes, I know Manring is a great player (technically-speaking). But once you've heard Jaco do it, anyone else's version pales in comparison. This one just doesn't "do it" for me.

@OrisLover What Lombardo said, or he's using something like an early version of a Boss RC 50 Loop Station, or whatever the equivalent was back then. I'm sure that pedal would do the job, though. Boss makes the best effect pedals in the world, and they're not expensive for what they can do, and for how sturdy they are!
the harmony that he loops is terribly dissonant.... Almost kills the entire thing. Also sounds a little out of tune.... A shockingly sub-par performance from Manring unlike any I've ever seen. This guy usually hits the nail on the head 99.9% of the time.
@leokasper7107 Agreed, I'd imagine mixing anything like this would be a nightmare too. It's not like you can just mix the harmony down or boost the melody as all of this is coming from the same bass.

yea it's a fretless and those 13th chords have to be perfectly in tune for teen town to sound really good as they are pretty dissonant by themselves
