zzzzzzzz oh how bored i get when people go "i thought beam was only for girls". why can't we all (everyone in the world) stop being so stuck on who is doing what. i doubt beam will ever be an olympic event for men but why can't guys (sexual orientation has nothing to do with it - this is sport) do beam if they like. i for one never managed more than a back walkover on full height when i was about 10 or 11. i stick to my trapeze nowadays :) Good job man!!!

I think that this idea that beam is for girls because boys might hurt their balls is silly. Gymnastics is a dangerous sport and all of the events have their dangers. Beam does not seem more dangerous than the other events. Kirby shows that men can do beam beautifully. I think that it would be awesome if beam was made into a men's event. Some of the other men's events (like rings) are pretty stale, showing little change or innovation.
