  • The guy in white's calves :O

  • @RickAstleyZ me and luke are in red zone. there a computer next to us

  • @jamie50011 Damnit I need to check my inbox more often ^_^

  • The score keeper don't even know what the hell he is talking. So much for being a national event.

  • 1:42 all you need to see

  • the score.keeper is an idiot. totally dumb

  • ....... seriously... the score keeping... and it's wrong way.

  • its a different scoring system...

  • 7:35 LOLS Gunawan is so funny! He changed the racket during the rally :D So awesome :)

  • @ 2:09 Harianto is serving at 4 - 5 on the left?? misses the serve then serves again at 4-6 on the right???

  • Taufik Back hand smash 1:47...good god... I want to be able to do that... T.T

  • The scoring system just like table tennis. each player served for certain time then next player takes turn.

  • actually this scoring system existed since long(in europe), even before the 15 scoring system.

  • two of the greatest players ever on the far side of the net!

  • the calves on howard are UNBELIEVABLE

  • why use the old scoring system?

  • great view point

  • The teams seem so unfair =P, Tony Gunawan is known to be one of the greatest doubles players of all time and is a former world champion, Taufik Hidayat is also a former world champion and Olympic Chamion while on the other team, Howard Bach's biggest tournament is only the world championships

  • Taufik backhand smash at 1:45 - he just can't resist, can he? :).

  • The issue I have with the scoring system is the following: under certain circumstances, one side could have a greater likelihood of winning the next point after winning the previous one, which would lead to a greater separation in the scores and thereby reducing the likelihood of a tight-scoring game.

  • @thejym For example, the NBL scoring system has one side serve four points in a row. If my opponent has to serve four points to me in a row, it is highly likely for me to win three or four points (since a serve in badminton was never intended to be used to generate a point like in tennis). If you watch sports like basketball, after one team makes a basket, the other team then gets a chance to get on the offense. It is similar in badminton, which makes for a more pleasant game to watch.

  • look

    at

    his

    legs......

  • in that case, it just like table tennis ? each player serves specific shuttles

  • Strange scoring system. I am deadly confused with the scoring and positioning. Odd numbers should play in left, how come Tony served in right. All is messed up. Can anyone help to clarify? Or it's just for fun and does not really matter?

  • @BocahMadiun This was scored using the "NBL system", which is this new league started by a few people here in the US but hasn't really caught on fully. The players here have agreed to play a match under this system, but of course you will continue to see 21-point games in international play for the next few years to come.

  • @thejym The way the scoring works is first to 17 points, each side serves 4 points in a row (regardless of who wins or loses). If it's 16-16, next point wins. I think there was a mistake made in the scoring of this game by the ref, but don't sweat it.

  • wow the scoring system confuses me.

  • That idiot on the side cant keep score correctly. Check him out.

  • 7:32 to 7:41 ...if taufik's backhand is not good at 7:38 OMG!!!

  • i adore the calves of the guy on black and white shirt :D

  • that's howard bach. 2005 world champion

  • it's nice to see worlds greatest single player played doubles.. why don't make an exhibition game between LCW&LD vs. TH&PG & the cash prize is $500,000 for the winner $100,000 for the losers ^^,

  • @jasonmagician yeah you can supply the money you braindead idiot

  • 1:43

    Gold =P

  • 17 pts scoring system?

how's that work? must be old school

  • its a scoring system used by the NBL ( i think they're the only ones using it). 4 services per player. Similar to table tennis doubles, 2 services per player, then it switches sides.

  • Gunawan and Taufik, possibly two of the best indonesian badminton players that have ever lived... and strangely, not the best team!

Taufik is good though, he should give it a try when he retires from singles, he shouldnt be a coach lol, u cant teach THAT backhand

  • haha what are u talking about? WERE ALL dying to learn the legendary backhand smash ;)

  • LOL. it has its uses, even in doubles.

  • wtf happened at 7:34

  • he changed his racquet ?

  • His strings broke so he quickly ran the change racquets. The guy in black shirt on far court.

  • the string broke so Gunawan went to pick up another racket which is perfectly legal... :)

  • that was PRO- i had someone toss me a second technique after my string broke and i was smashing with my handle

  • is this a new scoreing system ,does anyone know the score (excuse the pun)...?

  • I have a feeling this will be the last time the scoring judge gets hired by the NBL. Hehe.

  • this looks like a fun game. I really don't like the umpire, he made a LOAD of mistakes on the scoring but its only an exhibition so i guess its okay..

  • Dam! Tony G did the racket switch again!

  • haha taufik looks bored as hell

  • really, i think it looks like he is having fun o.o

  • lovely!!!

  • I think the umpire just messed up on scoring alot

    at 9 -7 and reverse 7 - 9 and continue on 8 - 9, but it suppose to be 10 - 7, on taufik and tony

  • ??? i don't get the scoring... its kinda rally.. but why is each side serving twice with the same person..?

    something new?

  • Since this is an NBL (National Badminton League) exhibition game, it uses NBL's 17-point scoring system.

First team to 17 points wins, no win by two.

Each side takes turns serving four serves in a row (by the same player for those four points).

  • don't like the NBL scoring...

from 15pts to 21pts is still ok...since it easier...

but this 17 pts is just messy...

  • @thejym Personally, I think this scoring system is total crap. What's the purpose of it? It doesn't make it any more or less fair for the players then the point-per-play rally scoring to 21. They're just creating more confusion with this scoring system.

  • @Kyluwa hey, bwf won't switch will it? and how many games are there?

  • wooohoooo

  • This video is an irony for me. Very sad to see Taufik who still able play badminton very well, but decide to retired soon. hahhaha

  • first time see Taufik plays doubles~

hope he will be playing more doubles in the future~

    and he plays good!!

  • Is this a tournament or exhibition match? Too many camera flashes and the players are laughing most of the time..

  • howard bach looks so short! i wonder how tall he is.

  • about 160cm

  • 160 cm (5' 3'') only is short for a badminton player

  • maybe 1 or 2cm more than 160. hahahaha

  • So he is shorter....he has skills, you must be amazed!

  • i would like to have the shirt worn by tony^^
