I had the captivate for like a month and after downloading apps it slowed wayyy down and using the phone with apps running in the background was atrocious. Ive had the iPhone 2g before that and it got slow but not as slow as the captivate got, the iPhone 4 is awesome and it takes way better pics and vids than the captivate does. I GOT TO SAY THAT FOR YOU TO MAKE AN OPINION OF "DESIGN" was really BIASED...

1) Captivate uses gorilla glass in it's design which protects the screen from damage, glass on the back is a design flaw for iphone4!!

2) Being able to use a microSD card is a HUGE design benefit for captivate,and a huge design flaw for the iphone4.

3) Not being able to remove the battery is also a huge design flaw with iphone4.

should have added more of the facts in ur design review, other than straight opinion.

My friend recommended me an iPod Touch 4G, I didn't have anything bad to say about it, except the OS, which sucks and that's why I jailbroke it and put a billion of Cydia apps/tweaks on it, so I'll be satisfied. Apple just limits their OS so much, you always have to use iTunes for it and to be honest, I hate iTunes too just as much as the OS. It rivals the iPhone 4, just doesn't have the front facing camera (I don't really need it anyways...) BUT it does have a way more open operating system and 10GB internal memory plus a MicroSD card slot for expandable memory.

@HugoHJCisneros For example the messaging app that came with it was lacking some desired features plus had a bug in it that wouldn't let me send MMS to some phone numbers. So I simply replaced it with a free 3rd party messaging app from the official app market. Works perfectly, has way more features. You're not going to see anything like that on iTunes because Apple doesn't let people release replacement apps.

I just got tired of the meager 8 GB of storage, out of which only 6.5 GB was there for me to use. And I also got tired of the fact that if I wanted to put any of my video files on it and be able to watch them I had to run my videos through iTunes and wait for them to be converted.

While the US Supreme Court did rule that it's completely legal to hack (AKA jailbreak) an iDevice, Apple tries to lock them down as much as they can (and they have every right to do so) so it's not as easy to mod as Android phones are because the Android OS is based on Linux. And since Linux is open source you can hack it, mod it, do whatever the hell you want with it without any legal threats or issues.

Actually Battery goes to Captivate, With the customization of batteries you can just get a bigger battery, the new one i have on my captivate runs 2 days with heavy use, android OS i superior with customization, video and picture quality on Captivate is Better, but sadly lacks that flash, and front camera. IOS jailbreakage is shit, Rooting captivate is JESUS, FLASH ROM, KERNELS, AND MODEMS, my captivate is 3 years ahead of IOS
