Respectfully Denmark is size of one of our cities. One state here is size of some entire countries there. Laws are not as restrictive there on drugs and vices and the system is unusually different. Apples and oranges. In most places where guns are banned the criminals only abound with knives and guns. In Manchester UK there were 600+ criminal shootouts last year and firearms are banned completely. It is a complex thing but in the real world, not enough cops for your luxury.
I must also comment, when a country like Denmark is invaded by another, how do citizens defend themselves and remain free? You cannot depend on government army or force to always be there. The way goverment tries to stop bad guys from getting guns is passing anti gun laws, which fails in stopping criminals from getting them and only good guys get killed. In a city where everyone has guns, deaths are lower, and even if they are the same, all the dead people are the bad guys not the good.

hey man i feel your dad's sadness, my dad was recently shoot in the arm in his convenience store he is fine though..i would strongly recommend for your dad getting a concealed weapon legally he just has to take some classes and it depends in which state you live if he is allowed. My dad reminded me of your dad he would also let the customers go if they didn't have enough money. Also if you can make your store a walk up window only like a drive thru but without cars.
