290 Yard Drive with my G10

I have no problems believing this went 290. Looks like abit of an overswing at the top but if its with control it usually just creates more power far as I know. Its not like its impossible for an non-pro golfer to hit it 290, if the title said 390 then yeah. Would have been hard to believe :D

Im sure you can hit it that far, nice wide take a way, but you lose your balance at the top and move foward before the downswing even begins. 290 is top 60%, but only to guys that can hit it 400 plus on practice rounds.

I have witnessed a tour play that averages 280 off the tee on tour, smash it 450yrds and averages 365. Tour golf is a lot different than weekend golf.

I believe you though I can carry around 275 and im only 5-7 120lbs so im sure you can hit it 15 yards more. maybe even 50 or 60.

Nice swing. I've been using a Ping G2 driver, 7 degree. I like it, but the G series is too high launching for me. I just bought a Titleist 909 D3 8.5 degree. Hopefully I'll get a bit more of a penetrating ball flight. We'll see how it goes.

@phatboyjim i'd say it went as far as you claim it did.. most people judge distance based on swing speed, (which is really stupid) but you seem to have good rhythm, and if you keep it up, you can consistently drive 290 yards

It's funny, when I purposely go past parallel on the backswing it helps my tempo a lot. I don't do it as part of an aggressive swing, trying to kill the ball. It's just a (driver) swing I mess around with from time-to-time for fun. You go a good bit past parallel, but your tempo is awesome and you don't seem to be casting it either. Good stuff.

What loft of G10 are you using? I'm using 10.5 and only hit around 275 max (I only have a 112mph swing speed).

9Degree head with Xtra Stiff Graffaloy ProLaunch Red shaft.... standard length. My swing speed is around 115-118.

I should have gotten the 7.5 degree head with that shaft, but went for a bit more forgiving loft. knowing what I know now, i wish I had the 7.5
