  • the water was WAY too deep

  • why is the water so deep?

  • @87654321and12345678 I'm sure if the water comes to the pony's belly its too deep to trot or canter through- but I'm glad your enjoying yourself with him x

  • @87654321and12345678 The entry and exit points didn't look anywhere near as deep as the middle, glad he coped well, but for me, I'd be concerned that the drag from the deep water would really put a horse/pony off water fences. Not all of them are as biddable as your boy when faced with slogging through water! Good luck and hope you stay cast free!!

  • @87654321and12345678 The water is coming up to the ponys belly, therefore it was too deep. Glad your injury healed well and you were able to get back in the saddle.

  • I'm surprised how honest the horse at 1:50 was for even leaving the starting gate with that woman on board. What an unsympathetic, untactful and physical rider she is. People like that should be pulled up immediately.

  • @RachyM soooo true!

  • @RachyM i agree completely!

  • that water is way too deep! imagine trying to take a 12.2 pony through- they'de have to swim!

  • @dannie2twins Yeah isn't the maximum depth 14 cm?

  • Lost all respect for this place when the 4th woman chucked a hissy fit at her horse calling her a stupid mare, just because she wasnt too fond of the water. People that dont have respect for their horses shouldnt have one at all.

  • @Charley1906 How can you loose respect for the establishment when it was only a person that went there, The way she acted was disgusting but you can't loose respect for the establishment, Also to everyone else, the riders were all right.. Besides the 'Stupid Mare' woman.

  • Oh my god, that's terrible.

  • The water is really deep. Other then that I think you guys did great for your cross country rounds! The water jump was always the hardest for me :)

  • pomberry! Rightly said ! :) Bollocks to everybody! Least they are out there doing it :)

  • Wth. .Yea its great for the riders alright, they have great fun dont they ! -.- but what about the horses ? imagine being the horse, having to carry someone that cant possibly treat them right..?

  • the lady at 2:25 needs to stop pulling on her legs and then maybe the poor horse will work for her.

  • I don't understand why this video is used as positive publication for 'rheidol riding centre'. If these are their best riders... pfoeh! I see so many mistakes! You really should learn the basic things before you go on cross country. It's dangerous this way! It really is...

  • @saminiky explain how this is any more dangerous than the spot on a whole? every one is wearing body protecetors everyone is on a learning curve this is what 2 foot 3 cross country were you really expecting the next Fox-pitt? i can tell you that most of the people in this video are now winning BSJA BE and BD the fact that this is their and their horses first time doesnt seem to have entered your brain...

  • @Marii00Marii If you just got a plaster cast of your arm you shouldn't be riding cross country, cross country needs weeks of training, not 3 days... Anyway, if this is the riders first time that they are going on cross country, they should ride an experienced horse. Sending an inexperiecend horse and rider on cross country is DANGEROUS.

  • These people CANNOT ride..seriously

  • excuse me?! Maybe they are just starting out. Not everyone rides without a flaw. Seriously, don't comment if you can't say anything nice. no one needs to read your crap.

  • Exused m'lady, well if they're only starting out then maybe they shouldnt be doing stuff that they cant manage.. might wanna be able to do easier stuff first ??

  • wow.

  • ok yeah i see what you mean. just watched it again. yeah.......need to work on the equitation part before going on a xc course.

  • @GreenDayRockz13 you need to get a life SERIOUSLY. half of these were doing their FIRST one day event, and i bet you were perfect yeah? Im ridin the little fat thing in the red and i bet i was aweful too, the fact that id just had a plaster cast taken off my arm 3 days before and apart from this gone clear must have nothing to do with it at all yeah? wow how wonderful it must be to be perfect .

  • popuipopuipopui making ur horse trot in to a scary obstacle is a great idea it give the horse longer to look at things

  • you yelled whoa and thats exactly what he did! mean what you say and say what you mean! dont take it out on the horse...

  • Well don't they just love to kick... LOL

  • If the 2nd to last rider hadn't worried so much about slowing the horse down before even reaching the water, he probably wouldn't have hesitated and later refused. Pulling back and yelling WHOA in a nervous manner definitely didn't help at all.

  • wow. . .deep water!

  • you know what ... some of you should stop being so harsh .. any one thats an experienced rider should know that horses just have days were there going to play up .. and if you dont know that then you've probably been stuck on "push- button" riding school ponies too long.. and for the record i think that the riders did quite well considering and instrad of criticising how badly people ride you should concentrate on improving your own riding

  • If you were to enter an event and the water exceeded 14 inches deep, you can technically take it to the ground jury. They SHOULD (according to USEA rules) alter the obstacle to meet the 14" rule, or remove it from the course. This, is understandably not going to be applied to this particular event because firstly, its a small schooling event, secondly, the event is not held in the U.S. and I dont know the rules there.

  • All you people criticizing these riders, just come aross as stuck up snobs! We all have to start somewhere, and it is excellent that these riders have the opportunity to take part in these competions. Apart from anything, I bet you didn't look amazing the first time you did crosscounrty or sat on a horse, but I'm sure you thought you did. The wonderfull thing about the rheidol is that it really encourages new riders, and I'm sure has taught thousands of people to ride over the years So up urs!

  • @pomberry999999 You are amazing.

  • 2:08 god girl keep ur voice down and the horsey might just go in he was having a poo!!! and why do they have to trot into the water they lose speed wt the wall water jump

  • how old are they

  • why was the water soooo deep??

how could you exspect a horse to canter through that and then jump that wall?!?!??!

  • @ShowJumpingPrincess1 Yes the water was far too deep, I also thought that was very unfair for beginners...so I take my hat off to them for dong such a great job.

  • @ShowJumpingPrincess1

They're ponies though, a bigger horse would have an easier time with it. But yeah, it's too deep. Might have been a lot of rain or something

  • @ShowJumpingPrincess1

they dont have to canter through the water. my pony is 13.2hh and she can trot through water and jump the wall, because we have one like that at pony club and the water is almost as deep as that. :) so get back to me because i know u r going to argue about my comment

  • i dont think any of these riders should have been doing this.. theyre all making mistakes that could be dangerous. the last rider was decent, though. and the water was way too deep!

  • that water is far too deep, if I saw that water when I walked the course I would have withdrawn. It's no way safe, I kniw if I was a horse I wont go anywhere near it!!

  • that first rider is stupid. you don't just kick and kick and kick and kick

  • That water was seriously far far too deep. And blunt, uneducated riders too.

  • a first girl riding !!! pathetic !

  • they shouldnt be able to use the water jump if its that deep its against the rules of xc and is dangerous for the horses and riders! no wonder the horses didnt want to go in! its up to there chests!!

  • he doesnt want to go in the water

  • the jump are very very smalllllllllll

  • WOAAAAHHH DEEP WATER!!!

  • That water is VERY deep! everyone wants their horses to go "fast" through it, but they cant b/c of how deep it is... is that aloud in the restrictions?

  • lol the last horse is like my horse red... just hops in the water and hops out... my horse chance would be like fuck that I ain't getting my hooves dirty(yes my little white arabs problem with water is he doesn't like getting his hooves dirty/wet LMAO)

  • that water is too bloody deep!

  • If the girl at 2.20 IS SOOO CRUEL .... why did she skip the jump and go round?? .. i've seen much much worse at some shows...and by the looks of it the water is much shallower near landing and take off ... why dont you try and be positive about their riding instead of slagging people off?? .............................................Its not the best way of incouraging people is it? lay of them a bit!!

lol Go Mar and Cardi!! ( the welsh mountain!!! ) LYxx

  • my god the second to last girl.... erm teach your horse to go into water before you expect him to jump into it. Shouting at him and getting annoyed isn't going to make your horse go in. And when the horse was turned away from the jump, did she want her horse to stop or go? I don't think the horse knew seeing as it was kick then yank!

  • That horse has done it a million times before and was being a cow on the day, she goes through all water and is pretty lethal when she doesnt want to do something, shes thrown me off a few times thats why she turned away and carried on the course.

  • wasnt that water just a little deep lmao

  • the only gud rider was da last one lol !

  • the liver chestnut is like my elliott-Elliott wud just freak tho and refuse to do the little jump and and do a weerd leap over the big jump-then tank off he loves stuff like tht!

  • Pretty deep water, but cute ponys XD

  • I dont know shit about regulations, but that water was far too deep for a horse to build up enough momentum to be able to jump out. As anyone whos been swimming will know, running in water is very hard, and those riders need to appreciate that, especially as their horses already appear to be very tired. Smacking or kicking your horse wont make it any easier for them.

Plus a horse refuses for a reason, water is an unknown danger to them, and they wont venture into it unless they trust the rider

  • thats a very deep water jump. Surely its above restrictions?

  • Wow thats a really deep water jump!!! I thought there were depth restrictions. Good riding!

  • That 2nd to last rider kind of bugged me. .

I mean, her horse took off with her & she didn't even try to collect her, and then the horse bucked and she freaked.

And then she wouldn't get in and she just kicked her. Um. . Turn around and trot in, smart. And then the horse wanted to turn one way but she was trying to circle in the other so the horse just went straight.

  • Come on guys she did her best this is bad critizing honestly you should know better how do you think this girl is thinking with these horrible comments get a grip she might not have been riding for long i suggest you think before posting.

  • I agree that girl on 2:08!!!! horrible all of them...

  • The girl on 2:08 isnt mean, her horse was being stubborn, she does that course every year twice because its right accross the road from the yard and that day she was just silly. And the girl is a qualified instructor and has had that horse from foal so watch what you say!

  • really? Wow well she should learn the aids then. Kick means go yank means stop. Do them both at the same time your horse isn't going to have a clue what you are asking!

  • shes not yanking, the horse was 5 at the time and the rider is in the byrds under 21 dressage squad and right now she is finnishing her exams at talland so shut up, i love to see you ride that horse, she is very naughty and you have to be very stern when riding her and she has just been sold for £5,500 to a dressage yard in england.

  • haha you can take your exams where you like but still need to know that pull and kick mean different things. If the horse is so naughty then nobody would possibly have payed £5500 for it :)

  • Comment removed

  • Im sorry but if my instructer rode like that id be a little appalled tbh. She is horrendous!!

  • ur soooo rite fizzyrocks!!! and the first person was kicking really hard...poor horsie :)

  • how do they expect the horse to try to cantere through the depth of that water lol terrible riding ppl

  • I agree that water should be tackled at a canter not a walk !

  • what is the point of kicking ,do they really expect a horse to canter through a 680ft ocean !! terrrible terrible riding ,they need to learn to ride before doing any competitions or better still for the sake of horses everywhere GIVE UP !! bad riding, bad instructor, bad ridign school ,nice horses mind .

  • wtf was the third rider doing and she gave up in the end IDIOT the horse was having a shit fgs she could have at least waited and shouting get in get in get in isnt going to make it get in grrrrrr some people piss me off

  • This is horrible, and it's definetly NOT horsemanship.

These riders need to learn to become more empathetic towards their horses and build a more solid dressage basis of the correct aids. Kicking will get you nowhere, if your horse ignors your leg aids, you back it up with a light tap with the crop or a nudge of spur, but these horses have enough pace as it is. The riders need to learn to stop interfering with their mounts. The last rider was the best. She let her horse focus on his job

  • xXYasiAxX..mature name by the way..her horse is worth thousands more since she's had her and trained her with professionals! don't tell me i dont know nothing when you don't even know who i am! why do you all care how she rides, it's not your problem so stay out of it!

  • Ok, so the girl at 2:20 that everyone is talking about really is a SHIT rider. Both my friend and I know her well and are very familiar with her riding technique (yanking, shouting, kicking, generally being crap) and yeah, she does ride for BYRDs but the only reason for that is she paid six grand for a ready made horse. This girl cannot ride as is obvious from the video, the horse she is riding here is a youngster and this is no way to build its confidence. GirlsOnTour u know nothing.

  • wow how deep is the water

i didd grade 2 on my old horse n the water was about tht deep its hard as to get them out

  • That water is deep

  • god animania1995 do u have it in for the rheidol or what?? stop being so racist against the welsh and watch something else

  • bloody hell that isnt a water jump thats a pond with jumps and drops around it! haha water jumps on a cross country horse are meant for cantering through not swimming! haha

  • Animania1995 i wasnt having a go at you was i. i was replying to horsecrazy555666. so don't invove yourself in this and don't talk down on me like your better. i really don't care if you ride for GB so you know..shove it haha

  • Read: Ok, so the girl at 2:20 that everyone is talking about really is a SHIT rider. • Hi, sorry I havent mailed you, I got baned form the computer. The next cross counrty event is this sunday (8th of June) and there is showjumping next sunday too. I will mail you If I find out about any more events. Hope you can come!

  • i luv the pony !! LOL :P

  • the water is much too deep for a horse trials. Although horses can swim, in a recognized event, the horses are meant to jump in, maitain impulsion and pace, and jump out. This water is much too deep to do that safely.

  • 1. learn how to spell idiot before you call someone one and 2. you obviously dont have a clue about horseriding. this girl who's 'mean' and an 'ediot' as you put it rides for wales! bet you can't even ride yourself. the water is not to deep horses can swim and the girl is an amazing rider!

  • no wonder england always does better than wales then her hands are much to high AND this is a fact from her elbow downwards it ahould be in a straight line to the bit. NEVER lean back when stoping a horse this only results in the horse getting above the bit. Dont have a go at me because me and others from my school ride for team GB. GO GBR!!!!!

  • wales is part of GBR

  • well arent you stuck up

  • I think the water was a bit to deep to jump out of lol

  • the girl at 2:20 was being sooo mean to her horse just because her horse waas spooked of the water she jerked on the poor horse's neck,

she was kicking the horse to hard, and she was making it worse she is an ediot

  • the horse was choosing to resist and be a pain. he was not spooking. if a horse spooks the jump to the side. to that horse the girl is probably about a speck. itll take alot to hurt him.

  • well actually if you look close she's wearing spurs and really digging them in, im pretty sure thats gonna hurt and the horse was obviously stressed out why do you think it did a poo? i understand the rider's clearly nervous but you can't blame the horse look at the rider's body language she's scared to go in the water and of her horse's power...

  • i agree with you on the body language but to a horse unless you are kicking as hard a you can it wont hurt the horse terribly. it "did a poo" because as with any animal when they are working or running it speeds along the digestive process. the horse is fine he is just resisting

  • thats what welshes do!! mine did it infact most welsh c/d ive met crap on the way into a water jump!!! and im always scared going xc! so stop having a dig!

  • i know the girl at 2.20 or whatever and she hasnt made it worse..she obviously knows what shes doing because shes been selected to ride for wales in the BYRDS squad. youtube is just an excuse to slag off people you'l never meet. i bet shes better than all the people that have been slagging her off.

  • im guessing all u people who r complaining that the water is "way too deep!" havent done xc b4?! cos the whole piont in xc is to challenge the horse and rider! if ur pony wont go through that i suggest starting over to gain the ponies trust! ur pony should trust u enuff to do anything u ask! it shouldnt even lk at things just go for it!

  • yea but the water is NEVEr that deep.

  • lol

    so funny!

    the poor horse at

  • is the first horse a draft? btw seems like really deep water!

  • that girl at 2:20 was a little to hard on the poor horse.

  • i see wat u mean :D

  • yeah. i agree. when the horse spooked at the water, she just made everything worse.

  • Dylan is the greatest horse in the world!!!!

    L love Dylan!!!

  • I'm sorry but that water is far to deep - my horse would defiently loose his confidence doing somthing like that

  • This is quite a normal depth for cross country riding courses.

Besides, if you notice, this is a riding center. They don't tend to be able to employ course designers and suchlike, and generally can't afford to do anything other than work with what they have available.

  • um i've been jumping cross country for 5 years and have never seen water this deep! it's really dangerous!

  • Horses can swim, you know. Human and all

  • OMG!!! Got deep enough water??!??!

  • 2.04 the lady is looking down and asking at the same time wile feeling confident.

  • break out the life jackets HA.

  • I cant my pony through a tiny puddle let alone that! hehe

  • WOW.. that water is way to deep. I dont think the rider at 0.25 should have beat her horse like that to go over the jump. It must have been hard for him to jump that high out of the deep water. Just my opinion everyone, dont freak out now.

  • Thats actually a very natural jump to make, and the water got shallower as it approached the jump

  • that water is so to deep

  • That water was way to deep for cross country!!!

  • Way-hay! That water is WAY to deep to "ride" through, I deff. dont blame the horses/ponies for stopping/walking through. If it was so they didn't charge through, good idea, but deff. way to deep.

To the rider at "2.11 min" .. as tempting as it is, don't lose ur temper if your horse doesn't go thru - you just need more pract and training :) Well done tho!

  • I honestly don't blame the ponies for stopping, that water was way too deep.

  • omg

  • * jump

  • whhoooa is that water jumo lyk a pond or sumthing ???

  • that water was way way too deep for a cross country water jump. the water shoudnt be past there knees

  • thats what I thought too. I thought they were suppose to be able to easily run through it.

  • yea they are sapposed to be able to gallop threw it. the water is not allowed to be past there kness

  • well it looks like the grounds jury didn't do their job at that trial.

  • Lol everybody was like kick kick kick at the water. But the 2nd last girl wasnt that good - she shouldn't of got so upset at her pony, she pulled him up and then started flapping away. She should of turned a circle and took him round again, more forward rather than acting so spoilt. I would of gone into a slow canter into the water.

  • I can't tell if you guys are idiots who have never been on horses or just stupid ass pony club riders that will never get anywhere. What the people where doing is getting the job done. At a show you don't baby your horse and they have to learn not to loo at things, the only time you can baby your horse and let them look is at home or at schoolings.

  • that 2nd to last girl should not have a horse at all.

"go onnnnnn get it" whinning like a baby

"oh sod it" like a spoit teenager!

  • i feel sorry for those horses especially the second 2 last 1 because if the horse isnt happy about goin in da water u dont just flap your legs n shout at them n then smack em with you wip u need 2 work them through shallower water n even if you have 2 lead him through it instead of start shouting at him itll just make him less likely 2 go through the water..

  • hes like NO my feet are too heavy :P lol

  • lol got to love drafts

  • You can't expect the horse to walk into the water and then half way though it start trotting!

  • That water seems too deep. I went to regionals and they had to lower the water level because the water can only be a certain height

  • I think the water was a little deep, all the horses struggled with it, it came up to their bellies mostly.

  • Did you realise how many horses shit themselves at the waterr?? :D

  • i dont think any of them could ride all that well.. tbh.. some of them did quite well.. but the 1 at 2mins.. omg.. she needs to have some respect for that poor horse..!!!

  • I know i was thinking the same thing

  • i know horses can walk and make a poo but i wouldnt wanna go through the water and poop

yea she was stupid pulling back and kicking?

  • god i feel sorry for the horse at 2 mins poor dam thing was excited then she makes him stop wt the hell shes is seriously sending mixed messages.

  • Omg!!! The rider from 2:00+ Was c.r.a.p what was she doing?????? Erm, i hope she was a beginner if not she baddd, well looks it on this video..!

  • maybe if u didnt kick n pull at the same time the horse wud move

  • Yeah, that was what I was thinking. Instead of pulling them up and flapping about they should of kept going!

  • yuu needed to keep the momentum up approaching the water..so he would have enough momentum going through the DEEP water to jump..water too deep. buht also..dont ask him to slow down on his approach the kick him up when he's in there, as its too hard for him to get bak into a good pace in the water..as it takes ALOT of effort.

  • Yeah, its stupid. The girl at 2:00 + pulled her pony up and started to flap about, shouting and even whipping her poor pony! She could of at least turned a circle and picked up the pace. I would of canter up to the jump and bucked her off if I was that pony!

  • water=wayyyyyyyy too deep

  • omg let you horse atleased trot in the water ( it was too deep) and don't KICK KICK lol turn around what a good boy<3

  • if i was the horse @ 2:00 i wouls buck that rider off!

  • That water is far too deep especially when your expecting your horse to jump in or out of it like the first idiot did.

  • its not perfect

oftewe ik vindt het neit ehct goed niet dat ik het beter zou doen dat wil ik niet zeggen

  • good pony at like 130 he is saying this couse is poop because of the water!

  • I'd slap the bitch at 02:08

  • Those poor horses are going to end up dead to the leg, gah makes me angry..

  • I agreee with you she is not soft in her hand and the horse is neva gunna learn if its owner is pulling at its mouth and booting it !

god sake woman have some sense its not the horses fault if u listened to the horse it would be good not if u boot him and wave ya arms in a strop lol !

  • The water is far too deep!!!

  • fix that corse or im going to b really mad

  • seriously yas all sound like loosers its only a pc event but i agree with the water being way way way to deep especially if you were to jump the drop fence bu the last chik was prob da best

  • well they obviously don't teach very well coz all the riders r shit. They all flap flap flap wit their legs and don't know how to use the correct aids.

  • they're still learning! aint it obvious that they're begginers!

  • tho much legs!

  • Enjoyed watching, thanks for that...

  • the people who designed that course should be made to run through the water themselves and then see if they can jump the fence coming out of the water! idiots!

  • Terrible riding. Water can only be a max of 14 cm at shows- rated or not. Also, u dont kick, u nudge. U people cant honestly expect a horse to trot through water that is 3 feet deep with a weight (rider)on their back.

  • wtf is with that water?!?!

    thats just rediculous

i mean in Pony Club no water can be anymore than 20cm deep!

That water must have been nearly 3ft?!

  • i dont meen to b harsh but if i had a riding skl i wld b ashamed to put my name on that video, or some of you others as well, nt the best way of marketing. were those riders trained in the riding skl??????????????

  • ALthough the course operator also needs a kick in the pants - that water was far too deep for ANY horse/rider combination, let alone these pairs!

  • Wow, that was some of the worst riding i have ever seen...Most (not all) of these people need to 1. have more flatwork lessons, 2. Read more about riding techniques, 3. Learn that horses need impulsion to jump up out of water, 4. A crop is used to reinforce a leg aid, not more leg/harder kicks/horrible jerking on the mouth! and 5. Some horses are far too forgiving of what some riders put them through!
