Is it possible to ask for a tutorial on how to setup the UX1 for recording only but still with playback from you PC? ( The things you talk about at 1:47 )
how can i setup the ux1 so that i can hear from my laptop speakers? i have 2 instrument cables and a fat-female to thin-male adaptor. which inputs and outputs do i use? thanks in advance
Hello :) i just downloaded and installed the drivers for my ux1 and i set it up following your videos, i also downloaded monkey. My problem is that i am only getting sound through one channel, and the only way i can get any sound input whatsoever is through the monitor in, and when i try to record on sony acid the sound is not there, it does not come up in the level meter and when i record nothing is there? Any help is much appreciated.
Owesome sound ¡ . I saw a video : "Vocal Sound Effects demonstration & overview of Line6 UX2 TonePort " And I like a lot the vocal effects. the question is : This model the Studio UX1 have the same fature ?? the same software and effects????. And can I connect my synthesizer to UX1 for recording ???Thanks
ok , so I just did this on my PC. But now I have an issue. Before setting my UX1 as my external sound card, I could hear what I played through POD Farm, by plugging headphones on the UX1, or by plugging my speakers in the phones entry. Now, I can only hear sound coming from Windows Media Player and other stuff like Youtube through my speakers plugged into Analog Outs or Phones, I can't hear a thing through POD Farm. What's missing ? :/
@GustavoSampaioLP The UX1 sports most of the same features as the UX2 although it does not have phantom power for condenser mics. You'll definitely be able to do all of those cool vocal tricks with the UX1 though.
i got all the drivers, but i still get this fading echo sound error frequently, it doesnt matter how i play it still repeats, it sounds more if i use strings with more bass in it, anyone knows what it can be?
@Deanosius setting the device up as your sound card routes all audio through the device from players like iTunes, WMP, etc. This allows you to connect your speakers directly to the Line 6 device so you never have to go back into the Windows Control panel to fuss with switching back to your internal sound card after recording a session in your recording application.
hi. i bought a line6 ux1. i've installed pod farm and riffworks. but i dont hear anything when i strum my sings. and i need help. can you teach me what to do?
Good guide. I'm using a Mini Jack to Mini Jack connector which runs from my headphone port on the UX1 with a converter, to the mic port on my PC. I would like to be able to have the audio playback through the speakers from my guitar AS WELL as play backing tracks and music through my speakers at the same time. Is there any way I can do this? From here I can balance the audio playback from my guitar and the backing music from my speakers to the left and right.
HI, can I use the input guitar or another input and monitoring by window mixers without open any application...I mean can I conect my guitar to my pedal board and my pedal board to ux1's inputs and listen the sound ?
Is there any way to use USB headphones WITH the UX1? My adobe audition can handle that during recording, but I can't hear my guitar as I play. I don't really want to buy 50 dollar headphones in addition to a 150 dollar program.
You won't be able to use USB headphones because those will show up within your DAW and in your OS as an external audio card. Most DAW's will only allow you to run USB audio device at any given time. You should be able to find decent headphones for less that 50 bucks. Check out Bheringer. I bought a pair for around 30 that sound pretty good.
I have the Line 6 KB37 midi keyboard. I would like all my sound (PC and DAW) to come through my speakers connected to this Line 6 device.
I have XP, selected KB37 in the'sound playback' and 'sound recording' dropdown menu as shown, but it doesn't work. I am still getting sound through my PC.
Are your speakers connected to the headphone jack of the KB37? If you are using powered computer speakers then that is where you should connect them. Take a look at the video I did in regards to setting up a POD Studio UX2 device. The same principles apply to your Kb37.
Yes, the speakers are connected to the headphone jack of the KB37. Your 2 videos related to the UX2 don't mention anything about using it as an external soundcard.
It seems windows XP is just oblivious to any changes made in the control panel and continues not to acknowledge the KB37, even though its selected in the drop down menu.
Not true. A Shure SM57 or SM58 are both Dynamic mics that are highly regarded as a standard in the music industry. Since they are dynamic mics they will work fine with the UX1. I'm assuming by "studio" mic you mean a Condenser which requires phantom power. The UX1 does NOT require phantom power so you will need a UX2 in order to record with a condenser mic.
What about for my imac I just purchased??

@Line6Support Oh, ok. Does that mean I wont be able to mic a guitar amp using a condenser mic ?
GustavoSampaioLP 1 year ago
@GustavoSampaioLP correct. Not with the UX1 unless you insert a 3rd party phantom power box in between your mic and the UX1.

What is the reason for doing this? What are the benefits of doing this?? I'm new to this guitar software thing and am a little confused?

@Line6Support
that answers 'what' it does, deanosius asked what are the benefits.
I'd like to know too as the instructions that came with my kb37 didn't explain a thing.
Is it a latency issue that line 6 don't advise going through the computers sound card?
My soundcard was quite expensive, shame if it just goes to waste. or are the benefits of using the KB37 as one worth it?

can i also use pod x3 live as standalone for pod farm 2 without using any other stuff like toneport or stuff!!
robinfr93 1 year ago
@robinfr93 No. Gearbox is still the primary editor librarian software for the POD X3.

@dante2k8 Should work fine although some people have reported some pops and clicks here and there. It works fine on all of our Win7 machines here.

@alexjestermusic Also, if u have a guitar amp u can just use a regular guitar input jack and connect it from the headphones to the guitar amp.

No vocals with ux1, but it works with XP

You can absolutely record vocals with the UX1 as it has an XLR input.

Yeah with a bad microphone, if you want too use a studio microphone youll gonna need UX2!
