  • Didn't Eastern Europe repel the Mongolians' attacks eventually?

  • Pretty much any mongul or any huns were like the cheapest players of any fps game, always using the easiest but simplest way to win. But who said war was ment to be fair? The romans should have used horse archers, or atleast thought more into defence.

  • This was the theme of me in one of my games as Genghis Khan, the pope.

  • Great music but not exactly what I want to hear when I meet my first civilization especially if it's right by me.

  • @Noahthebeast09 IF you genghis, then you wont have that problem

  • Yeah but then you can still start by Shaka or Alexander or Ragnar.

  • @Noahthebeast09 Not if you make it a custom game :D

  • I think my favorite leader is cyrus hes imperialstic and charismatic his units promote real easily because you can build the great wall and have 300% great general production with 25% less experience needed for promotions I can have war city make these really high level mounted units and they just smash through everything.

That's generally what I do I send a lot of mounted units in to take out the main enemy production city when I start a war with someone before I send in my main force.

  • Chingis Khan was very intelligent man that no one could possibly measure it.

  • Perhaps Genghis Khan's greatest acts was uniting the various tribes that formed the core of his army. I recall this being compared to uniting all of the street gangs of Los Angeles X 100.

  • Conqueering is cool but keeping lands is far more constructive and eventually harder. Oh! look at what's Mongolia today....people boxed in steppas, surrounded by sheeps and horses. Great job Khans...

  • @japsnaper well, they did keep their conquests, for centuries...it fragmented but the fragments were still ruled by mongols

  • no more mongols and dschingis khan in civ V =(

  • @janoqwertz Not on the website, but they are actually in the game, along with darius of Persia

  • @aljoshabre

    Why Chill out???

  • Im kinda glad my middle name was named after genghis, knowing he wasnt a all barbarian.

  • LONG LIVE TURKIC AND MONGOLIAN!

LONG LIVE OUR GREAT GRAND FATHER CENGHIS!!

LONG LIVE THE TURKISH GENERAL AND BEST FRIEND CENGHIS KHANS TIMURLENK!!!

    ALTAIC PEOPLE THE BEST!!

    LONG LIVE ASIA!!

  • @turquaz15 Chill out

  • Still can't believe Mongolians conquered the ENTIRETY of China! Nobody, not even the Chinese themselves could hope in conquering all China. India never even scratched the borders of China. The great Arabs and Persians couldn't even progress within 100 miles BEYOND the border of China. No need to speak of Europeans. who didn't even KNOW of China. China was huge, immensely populated, the richest empire on Earth. Only Mongols accomplished the impossible, the undreamable, before guns were used.

  • @newtonop mmm, maybe they were the only ones who could conquer china because they were next to it, and they had a huge barbarian army, and they took advantage of the disunion of China?

  • @newtonop Keep in mind that Southern Sung was considered one of the weaker Chinese dynasty (military wise). But yeah conquering China was a great accomplishment since China was still stronger than Europe at the moment.

  • best part is from 1:37 on

  • Genghis han was THE greatest world leaer in history. Period.

  • KHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

  • Japan pwned them and their Chinese + Korean mercenaries. Divine Storm hell yeah!

  • Why do I suddenly have an urge to see a video game or comic where the Mongol horde out-maneuver and destroy the Nazi panzer force intruding into central asia at the height of WWII????

  • @Aixrotciv w t f

  • It's a shame the only thing the Mongols truly lacked was centralized bureaucracy. After Genghis died, the hereditary system in place could not transition power smoothly without an administrative body to hold the Empire together.

  • one of my favorite themes even though hes a douche

  • ghengis kahn :), wat do u mean u can't spell his name right??? do you speak mongolian, "ghengis kahn" is just how white ppl bring up a way 2 pronounce his name, theres plenty of way to spell the name in english, so don't worry about spelling it wrong lol

great conqueror, ruthless murderer, dear leader, thats how he has been seen as

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

  • In the game, if you are not playing Genghis Khan...DO NOT MESS HIM.

Trust me. He is an arrgressive leader.

  • He'll mess with you regardless. Crazy bastard is constantly at war with half the goddamn planet and somehow doesn't get annihilated.

  • @Civfan26

But if you befriend him he is a true bro.

  • Hey! I`m a Mongol! This song sounds like native American, Maya, Aztec...etc song! :(

  • Maybe the Early(until about 50) version.

Also, you think that sounds Native American?Take a look at Ragnar's theme.

  • Ok I saw Ranger`s theme!

These drums & music sounds like Japanese! Not Mongol.

  • Went there, saw that it was exactly what theme I was afraid it was,IE the one I wasn't talking about at all.

Can't remember who I'm thinking of.

  • This garbage empire spanned across one fifth of the earth's surface, that's one hell of a super powerful garbage empire.

  • Don't insult if you can't spell his name. He was a damn conquerer, not an ooh-let's-build-CULTURE-and-ART guy. A general, but not so much as an administrator.

  • Genghis Khan is one of my favorite history characters, as he and his descendants built the biggest contiguous empire ever, it's been a while since I don't play Civ IV, If I play that game again, I think I'll choose Genghis Kan, if I play that game again, I'd prefer BtS, but I've found it hard to get (at least in my country).

PS: If there's a new expansion for Civ IV, the new Mongol leader would be Ogedei Khan (Genghis's son).

  • Late version rules, I made a cold war mod (simple) and instead of using China's theme music I preferred this. It sounds more like the epic theme. Changed Russia's to Catherine, also much more 'dangerous' quick and unexpected sort of turns.

  • the largest contiguous empire in history

  • Did you know that the 0.5% of the world (30 millions of people) are descendants of Genghis Khan?

  • Actually now it would be 35 million, as the world population has just about bumped to 7 billion.

  • what? Where did you get that from?

  • yes!, i am one of them! ^__^▐▐▐

  • this shit is ten times better than china's theme music

  • was there a real theme that genghis khan had? perhaps a war anthem or anything?

  • Yeah. It sounded something like :"Kill those dogs haaaaahahaha!"(in Mongol) supported by horse and gore sounds in background

  • LOL

  • Didn't Khan kill leaders of villages anyway to get on the peoples good sides?

  • Mongol Empire greatest in the world

  • In what sense? intellectually? culturally? ethically? artistically?

Or greatest in the sense that they killed a lot of people, razed lots of buildings and burned lots of books?

  • ghenghis pioneered the concept of diplomatic immunity and conscripted intellectuals worldwide to to go to Ulanbator and work on large projects for public works and creation of libraries. Although ruthless to anyone who did not comply with his demands and give over territory, he spared those who obeyed. Ghenghis outlawed killing children (shorter than a wagon axle). Ghenghis punished those who killed their own leader in order to surrender to the Mongols. All remained state policy after he died.

  • China at least cared to build the Great wall to protect it from invaders from the north (like the mongols).

  • The Mongols would have kicked the Romans and Greek's asses during their time.

  • I think you're right with this statement

  • @Gyumseum With their Mongolian bows, how could he lose?

  • @Enryakuji12 ulanbator didnt exist at the time of genghis you must mean karakorum which lies far away from the modern capital of mongolia

  • Culturally, artistically, but the way they built their empire was harsh....

I would have loved to live in peace in their empire, it was the greatest in those days.

  • No, when Genghis and his son Ogedei were alive you wouldn't've wanted to live there. After things settled down, no more conquest, there was more culture and art and general better living standards.

  • That's what I meant. ;)

  • this one is cool...

  • Could you put up Tokugawa Ieyasu's theme please? :D

  • No, the intros do NOT sound like crap...

  • The intros don't sound like crap, only GenghisKhan_Late_Intro and GenghisKhan_Late_Lp sound like crap

  • My first video! :D

    Expect more Civ music soon!
