@blacksabfan no,you should open more your ass ,and keep being raped by the lies of the media, and pharmaceutical companies,I am sure you believe even the fairy tales of the bible.open your mind,
always in the history of mankind, people support what they want to hear, and never the truth or what they do not want to heart.
and one more truth, the dollar will collapse at the end of this year ,beggining of the next year,so buy gold.
Ray Gillen is a fantastic singer, and I highly appreciate his talent. On this particular one, perhaps one of the top 5 Black Sabbath songs, I have to give the nod to the Tony Martin version though.
"kiahl1212" is gay I think, & also a combination of fag'n'pussy who don' t understand a shit about rock'n'roll, and will be better to keep his mouth (asshole) shut! :)
This is my favorite track off 'Eternal Idol,' and I always wondered how Gillen sounded singing it.....it's no wonder why Martin followed the demo version (and did a marvelous job of it too)!!!
If he did get AIDS from sharing needles (as you claim, I've never seen that in print or presented as a fact), then it wasn't Heroin that killed him...the AIDS is what killed him.
Heroin is bad, many have died from it, but I wouldn't count Ray Gillen as a heroin-related death.
does anyone know if eric singer toured with Sabbath for the eternal idol album? I know he did the studio tracks but would love to see some footage of him with sabbath!
I believe Eric Singer toured with Black Sabbath in 1986 on 7th Star tour only. I saw footage here on youtube of Eric Singer with Glenn Hughes, Geoff Nichols, Tony Iommi, and Dave Spitz live. he might've played some shows in 1987 with Sabbath but was gone by the time Eternal Idol came out. I think Terry Chimes was the only drummer during that short tour. I think Bev Bevan even played wit them during that tour too for a few dates.
Yep. Pretty much spot on. Eric Singer was still around when the demos of Eternal Idol were made, and his drums were left intact on the official album, although he's not credited. Bev Bevan was brought in and played a few gigs in Greece in July of 1987) and then left when Sabbath signed on to play some gigs in pre-Apartheid South Africa, which Bevan didn't agree with. Terry Chimes was brought in then and stayed through May of 1988.
yeah. the mid to late 1980s is a very confusing period for Black Sabbath's lineups. Guys coming and going and coming back and then leaving for good. its hard to keep up with it all. i have a question: is that Dave Spitz's bass playing on these demos with Ray Gillen or is it Bob Daisley's bass? I know all of Bob's bass ended up on the final product of the Eternal Idol album. (though Dave Spitz was credited along with him).
I want to say the bass in the demos is Daisley's bass, but I'm not 100% certain. I read that Spitz was sort of "in and out and back in" Sabbath during late 1986 and early 87. I have another set of demos which are more polished (and complete), and the music is identical to that of the official album. I'm quite sure only the vocals were redone. I know for sure Daisley's bass is on the final album so I'm pretty sure that's his bass here too.
It is, Dave Spitz was bullshitting most of the time so Iommi told him to take a vacation. Bob Daisley was brought in and I spoke to him once. He said he wrote about 95% of the lyrics for this album, which were inspired by philosophical reading, songs from other bands, personal expiriences (Hard Life to Love and Born to Lose) and some imagination. Lyrically, this is easily the best Sabbath album, or perhaps any rock album period.
then you know the truth that Gillen was right there with Dio and anyone else that sung with Sabbath. Yes, he sounds a little thin here but come on with it now.
Ray Gillen...great singer...better with Badlands than with Sabbath.

Uh huh, right. And you're apparently the exception to your own idea that "people support want they want to hear and never the truth".
You might have a point if there wasn't that glaring hypocrisy in your own maligned set of facts. Then again, nothing you say is remotely factual.
Anymore predictions Nostradamus?
