  • Give my regards to king tut asshole !

  • 00:48 - You're fucked now Ra!

Stargate SG1 had more similarities than differences to this, the original 1994 motion picture, but built up its own backstory and had its own spin. Ditto for the 1990s Highlander live action and animated television spin-offs of the original 1986 motion picture.

  • I just love the moment he notices the bomb, the fear in his eyes is just amazing because he knows he can't escape this one. Greatest movie in my opinion.

  • I love Ra's epic eyebrow raise. "Oh damn." Is probably what he's thinking. 00:48

  • The reason Ra turned back into an alien at the end of the film is really quite obvious and if you cant figure out why then SHAME ON YOU! If you remember when they showed him taking over his human host he came down from his ship as a sphere of light so...... as the last 7 seconds counted down what Ra was trying to do was change back to his original form so he could try to leave the ship as energy again and take over another human host. Too bad he didnt make it in time.

  • @darkmagic1701 I think that sphere of light was supposed to represent ring transporters. I guess that the meaning of his sudden transformation in the end was that knowing that he was about to die he couldn't concentrate on keeping his human form anymore.

  • @darkmagic1701

But I who have seen "Stargate SG-1" the series, but not the movie "Stargate" , thought that Ra, like other Goa'uld, looked like a snake with some fish traits in his original form. It seems that the series and the movie contradict each other on this point.

  • During a four thousand year war with the Asgard, Ra found himself leaving his Una host and taking the body of the Asgard Famrir as his new host. However shortly after Ra was wounded in battle and the Asgard physiology began to reject the Goa'uld Symbiote. Ra began searching for ways that he could possibly cheat death and discovered Earth.

  • @Anaru The RPG is not canon

  • @Anaru not in the movie canon, theres no such thing as a gou'ald, asgard in the films universe. ra was a dying humanoid alien who possesed the boy with his soul or essence. watch the film and read the film novels and forget the crap tv show

  • @jopeon1983 what are the names of the novels which one is the first that I should start with and how many are there?

  • This movie was made by the ashkinaz Jewish people who had a hatred for Egypt.. they owned most of the film industry, and they are putting a subliminal message in the minds of most Americans that Ra and the gods and goddess of Egypt are Evil... The thing that was giving Ra this knowledge and eternal life is the the way of life he chose..His way of life was consciousness and intelligence, and in real life he did earn an eternal life because you say his name out loud and he not forgotten.

  • @Malkam0da0ethiopian where are getting this stuff? The gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt don't even exist, so yeah.

  • Was that a Praxis wave?

  • Ra originally had an Asgard Host before he took the Egyptian Boy. This Asgard was called Famrir, which what you see often in this movie.

The Egyptian Boy was his 3rd Host.

  • I am glad that Osama Bin Laden is dead but its too bad he did not get a nuclear weapon blowing up in his face like RA.

  • I love this movie, and I agree with the person that said Jaye is too hot to get blown up so they had Ra transform into an alien again.

  • @MichaelJackson4eva9 - It kind of reminded me of the scene in the classic Mummy movie w / Boris Karloff's Ardath Bey character starts aging & withering once his magic is taken away, whatever. But instead of transferring him into a dessicated corpse, they show the alien inside the human Ra.

  • I like the music when the teleport rings happen with the bomb.

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the music playing from 0:34-0:59?

  • @onehotemt It's called Kasuf Returns. You can find it on the Stargate movie soundtrack. The part from 0:34-0:59 starts near the end of the piece. Hope I helped! It's the best countdown music for a bomb.

  • @MichaelJackson4eva9 Thanks! It's a big help.

  • i like the movie, but hate the series.

  • Okay, why does he finally, right before he dies, transform back into an alien? Some of you might be thinking, because once he knew he was going to die, he could not concentrate on anything else, and therefore could not maintain human form. Not bad. Some might say the filmmakers did it just for added extra special effects. Maybe. But, the real reason is because it just would be too inconceivable to see someone as beautiful as Jaye Davidson get blown the fuck up! That's the real reason. So there.

  • @JWRandall423 The series and movie have different canons. The series is a continuation of the movie but they are significant differences between them. If you want to follow series canon, as I do, then where the movie differs you should go with what the series says on the subject. If you wanna go with movie canon then you shouldn't even consider SG-1 it's sequel.

That's just my opinion. Other people differ and try to marry the 2 canons but then you get loads of inconsistencies so I don't bother.

  • @boo453 Oh, boo, I wasn't refering to anything having to do with canon. I've never even watched the series. Nor do I consider the movie to be all that good. I was just being funny about how beautiful Jaye Davidson was back then. I mean, can you imagine Jaye's face in that scene disintegrating like that? Horrors, no! James looked pretty cute too. I bet there's all kinds of slash fiction featuring those two characters; growing out of that scene where they were face to face. My favorite scene, btw.

  • @boo453 for me I like movie and series alike. Personally I regard the TV series as a re-imagining of the movie rather then a direct sequel, much like Battle Star Galactica.

Actually I like to imagine that they made a two part pilot which was a remake of the film but then lost the tapes. Making "Children of the Gods" episode 3 of the re-imagined series. For me this sits nicely in the mind and actually ties in with what the film producers have said about any film sequels.

  • @Fedaykin24 Disconuities are bound to happen when a movie gets turned into a series - The movie & series Alien Nation come to mind as a science - fiction example, & " MASH " as a non - science - fiction example. Heaven knows there are probably others out there. ( Planet of the Apes, Logan's Run..... )

  • @boo453 Theres also the fact that in some episodes SG-1 end up in slightly different universes fthan they one they came from. Hence some of the differences.

  • @boo453 I dont see how its that inconsistent. The way I see it you have to watch the movie first because without the movie there would never be a stargate but apart from the changes from movie to t.v. there really isn't that much that is changed apart from Ra being Goa'uld instead of a humanoid and the jaffa of course looking different in the show and different name spelling what happens in the movie is referenced several times(though I would like to see Devlin had wanted to do with the series)

  • @mgk22 There are more inconsistencies than that. Is Abydos in some far away galaxy or the milky way? Is Ra a Goa'uld or a weird alien thing? Is it O'Neill or O'Neil? The answer depends on which canon you follow.

  • @boo453 you mentioned 2 out of 3 things i already said but even so those are things that in my opinion dont really matter completely you can watch the movie and go straight into the t.v. series since the events in this movie are mentioned several times in the show while those technical differences can establish separate continuities especially if Devlin ever made the sequel he wants the events of the film are what are important since it effects what happens in the series

  • @mgk22 I agree that the series is a continuation of the movie, but there are inconsistencies. Most people's approach is to ignore them, I prefer to think of the movie and series in two canons. While the events of the movie are canon to the series, the technical details are not.

  • @mgk22 2nd response. I know it's a pedantic point, but it's mainly a response to people saying stuff like "the series is wrong, Ra wasn't a weird snake thing" (which I got a lot of before I added the annotations). Of course, while the series is wrong with respect to the movie, it isn't wrong with respect to itself, it's simply just changed a few things here and there. Hence things just depends on which canon you follow.

  • i love sg-1!

  • Ra has lost his right hand. See 0:19s

  • I like the show and like Richard Dean Anderson better than Kurt Russell but James Spader is by far a better Daniel Jackson than Michael Shanks.

  • there are many differences in the movie and SG1 . example in the movie abydos is in the kaliem galaxy, but in the show they cannot travel to another galaxy till star gate Atlantis. Goulds are more like snakes in SG1 but seem more alien/human @ :55 like in the movie.

  • @nlmeza also the base on the film is fictional, in the show its actually a real base,

in the film o'niell is spelt differently, and his sone was called tyler as the show his son was called charlie!

  • ra had the strangest form of any gouald. His original form must be a cat like creature

  • @thehantavirus There were no goaulds in the movie.

  • I haven't actually seen this film. From what I hear it's a good film...

I did see the wormhole animation and I thought that was pretty cool, a much better effect than the series used.

  • @scrotillathehun Well they did in a way make a show like that Deep Space Nine.

Heck the entire first season they didn´t go to that many locations and most of it were in the same locations and so forth.

BUT Deep Space Nine had great characters or at least interesting ones.

    Stargate Universe doesn´t.

If you want to make a show where there´s much infighting politics and so forth fine but then you BETTER make every character REALLY interesting with lots of development.

So far there has been none

  • 0:02 Unibrow

  • I read on Stargate Wiki that a Stargate 2 and 3 was planned by the people who made this movie.

Unfortunately it got cancelled which really is unfortunate i would have loved to see where they would have taken it.

SG1 and Atlantis where good shows unfortunately with SGU they just hit the bottom the show is REALLY weak compared to the other two, which is really sad because the plot had a GREAT potential.

Unfortunately they just never use that potential to anything.

  • Oh, and btw, read some of the original Stargate novels (pre-SG-1). Even those, which were based on Emmerich's ideas of where to take the franchise if he were given the opportunity to direct sequels, had it that there was more than one "god" out there. As well as more gates. MGM just decided they'd rather do a TV series and Roland wasn't on board with that, so they opted out as the studio owned the rights.

  • OMGZ SGI SUCKS

  • @kunzy3000 You're right, It sucks. It sucks so badly that Showtime (a premium pay channel) ran it for 5 seasons, and lost numerous subscribers upon dropping it. Idiot.

  • "Give my regards to King Tut!"

  • have you seen SG universe , i dont find it as good as SGA and SG1

  • :-)

  • i like stargate a good video

  • i have to say i enjoy both the movie and the series, i think they are awesome and well written, so what if the series doesn't exactly match up with the movie, both are still entertaining to watch. Stargate can pwn Star Trek and Star Wars, in my opinion.

  • Lol. When Ra dies, he sounds like some fucking mythical beast burning in hell.

  • This film fails somehow in the ancient history

Ra is a God how can Nuclear bomb kills a God makes no sence

  • yes, Ra should have survive somewhere...

  • Ra was an alien that self proclaimed and let others believe he was a God but really he was as vulnerable as every other being.

  • i dont talk about this movie

i talk about the egypsian culture

its say his a god God of Sun and was bird by a god call Nut

  • @XeonGame15 ur stupid

  • Ra was an anicent

  • I hope for him =)

  • @208504 no ancients are humanoid to the extent that they look exactly like us

  • Jaye attracts men and women in equal measure. He is the perfect androgynous beauty - graceful but lethal. Soft but ferociously powerful.

  • boo-yah

  • heu???

  • Love this movie! Not much any of the shows but I remember seeing this when I was a kid and it blew me away! some of the best music is used in this scene. Very epic.

  • "give my regardes to king tut ass hole" lol

i know that part wasint in the vid but its still funny

  • I dislike "SG-1" because, in my opinion, the writing was stiff, the plots seemed to retread on stories done before it, the acting for the most part wasn't very good, and the show was far too slow.

  • Watch the first three seasons. The third season and beyond is where the show really comes into it's own. I can see what you mean in the first season, but it gets better as it goes. By the time Anubis comes in, it gets pretty epic.

  • I tried, and then failed.

  • they love blowing up the g'uld dont they

  • Its just so weird. That guy did the Crying game. Then this. He is just amazing to look at. But then he never wanted to do anything else. He is just so hot. I could look at him all day.

  • i heard that they said it was just Ra as some kind of human with like an Asgard

  • Good video. One of the best deaths of a Goa'uld too.

  • Ra's human host just seemed to dissolve/ burn away, leaving something like an alien Grey who dissolved away as well. Ra sure as heck didn't look like a Goa'uld symbiote. More like a cross btwn an Asgard & Unas.

  • I personally LOVE the film - could watch it again & again - but I never took to the series - just not a big fan of movie spin-offs - especially if there isnt any new concept or material to build on!

    STARGATE the movie is sensational!

  • "especially if there isnt any new concept or material to build on!"........

I really don't know what to say to this comment... You clearly have never watched SG-1

  • I beg to differ. But I really can't be arsed to argue

  • Kegalo Shol'va

  • Kegalo Shol'va.......Swaic

  • I love the movie. I love SG-1. I love Atlantis. Stargate is a huge part of my life.

I am not so sure on SG: Universe but I am willing to give it a chance.

  • I loved both, canon or not, they were amazing! Stargate was the "Star Wars" to many kids of the 1990's, and nods to Star Wars are apparent (e.g. the bomb looks like the droid assassin IG-88 from Star Wars) and of course the ending echoes the destruction of the death star.

It was an amazing film, and an amazing series. :-)

  • I think that Ra was The Goa'uld in Stargate (no mater with one).

    He's the best.

And in the movie they had Ra's guards in "helmets" that make them look good :p intimidating. In SG-1 the're a little funny.

  • The only real problem with the series is how they portrayed the Goa´uld as snake like creatures, and then saying that Ra was one of them.

The main continuity problem lies in this scene where we see Ra change back into his alien form.

This one scene makes the idea, that it was just an Asgard that Ra had taken as his first host, seem flawed as we know that Goa´ulds just leave their previous host when they take a new one.

As such Ra couldn´t have changed his form to his previous host, yet he did

  • I haven't slept in over 24 hours so I'm not sure I fully understood your post however I should point out that the movie isn't canon to the series and the series isn't canon to the movie. Though the series is based on the movie they changed ALOT of things. In the series canon, Ra IS a snake like creature, in the movie canon he isn't. Simples

  • @boo453 Actually the series is canon with the movie. Ra is a Goa'uld. His first host was an unnamed Unas. His second host was an ascended Asgard named Famrir(who you see him revert to in his last moments because the power of the ascended being never left him. Hence the reason he was more powerful than the other system lords.) #consideryourselfschooled

  • @MrVernathan That information comes from the Stargate TCG. I don't care what the Stargate Wikia says, the TCG is not canon. There are too many things in it that directly contradict the series. Famrir being one of the them.

Going by information from the series, his first host was probably an Unas. Also going by information from the series, it is very unlikely/impossible that his next one was an Asgard. Let alone an ascended Asgard (I don't think the TCG says this last part at all anyway)

  • @Erikjust it makes perfect sense if it's a grey that's pretending to be ra

  • my theory is that Ra was originally not a goauld but an Asgard (50,000 years ago).

he looked for a way to extend his life so he found the symbiots which could extend life and added naquada to it to make it more powerful and then implanted it to himself, his mind merging with that of the symbiot and he became the first goauld. later he found Earth and wanted to take a human as a host to live even longer. but because he was really an asgard he had to merg his original body with the human body

  • Best SG1 that so cool

  • Well duh this a science fiction show. ITs gotta have some inaccuracies in it. However some of the science is based in reality. It gives the possibility what could we do.

  • Boom headshot!

  • What is the name of this song on this? I recognized that they used it for the Drag me to Hell trailer as well.

  • Kasuf Returns. It's up on iTunes (or if you PM me, I could get you a copy).

  • Hey I liked SG-1. It's actually fairly high quality but rife with scientific and historical inaccuracies (like any good sci-fi show). It's got a few of it's own interersting ideas. The movie was good too, the only thing I didn't like about it was that Ra died, meaning we didn't get to see him anymore (Ra kicked ass). I love how Ra is so aloof.

  • i havent seen the very first episode of stargate

  • this is from the original 1994 film

  • OMGZ SG-1 rules!!!!! dat good enogh and by the way i havent seen that series if u have any other stuff email it to me ill give you my email once you reply

  • Haven't seen what?

  • lol ra got owned!

  • Poor Ra.

The look on his face when the rings started beaming up.

He knew it couldn't be one of his guards from the surface, because they had all been killed. And when he saw the bomb with the timer on the last few seconds he knew it was over, so he reverted to his original form before he died.

  • ...who dont scared the ra :

    *

  • i like the glowing eyes :))

  • ha ha, Ra took a nuke to the face.

    :D

  • I just realized something. While the movie is so bad its not even a pathetic joke when compared to the TV shows, the story itself was stolen from a college student in the 80's by Emmerich.

So that means if you go all the way back to the point of origin, as it were, you find nothing but a core formed of greed, unoriginality, and petty theft.

That means Devlin and Emmerich are nothing more than criminal scum. They don't deserve to be movie makers at all. Careers formed from petty theft.

  • And I think the TV show is so bad its not even a pathetic joke when compared to the movie.

Most of my friends and family seem to agree.

  • True, but I am talking from the realization of how most people see the quality of the movie vs the TV shows. Far more people like the TV shows far more than this movie.

The TV shows are far more accessible to audiences, it is largely believed that the writing is vastly superior, and the caste has done an excellent job with their characters.

Seriously, the quality of the shows as a whole are miles above this movie. And I say this not from fanboyism, but from honest assessment.

  • Its your own personal opinion, its no more the truth then the opposit.

A series's story can unfold over many episodes while a movie is for the most part restricted story wise to a few hours.

Stop trying to convert people to your way of thinking, as Ive seen you do on other videos. Doing that makes you a fanboy aka fanatic.

  • Ok, I will. To be honest, I really don't like the TV shows, but I feel that I must acknowledge them as superior to this movie, which I genuinely do like.

Why? Because of the financial and cultural success of the TV franchise, its international fanbase numbering in the millions, which surely counts for something.

As for Devlin and Emmerich, they were taken to court for stealing the story idea, so that says a lot about them. Same goes for how their movies are so disliked.

  • Well since I hardly know anything about the series im just going to have to take your word on it.

  • Well, that's your own opinion and you're entitled to it. But personally I don't believe that anything in the show is better than in the movie. SG1 is simply one of countless sci-fi dramas that are churned out every year. The movie, on the other hand, is an original and exciting masterpiece. That is my opinion.

  • Except SG-1 lasted for 10 years, spawned 2 movies with a third coming, two spin-off series, numerous books and comics, along with an audience large enough to be its own marketing demographic.

That TV franchise captures the hearts of millions, while the movie was briefly and mildly successful and fades into obscurity and irrelevance.

That alone proves its superiority to the movie; look at its influence, profits, popularity, and the fact that it is MGM's 2nd biggeset moneymaker.

  • The series is obviously going to be longer and more successful than the movie, but that doesn't necessarily mean what you're seeing on screen is any more exciting or any better quality than what's in the movie.

Of course, that's only my opinion. Whatever I say won't make a lot of difference to the facts - I just happen to like the movie a lot more and coincidentally all my friends and family share that opinion.

Superiority? If you ask me, that's only true in the form of numbers on paper.

  • Precisely; the facts are the facts. And I am pointing to the facts as the proof of its superiority. But it is more than just money, ratings, quantities, etc.

It is the cultural and emotional success of the franchise, its vast fanbase, which ranks up there alongside even Star Trek.

That is what I point to as proof of the TV franchise's superiority over the original film.

If it weren't, then MGM would've let Devlin and Emmerich make sequels following their vision, rather than a TV show.

  • But 'the facts' don't make the series superior. You can churn out any old rubbish and make a huge profit. Take Heroes, for instance. People will watch and love anything if it's half decent - a large fan base doesn't mean, period, that a show/movie is better.

I can agree that it's superior in terms in viewers and the profit it's made, but not in the quality of the stories or it's entertainment value.

  • Stargate I found much more high quality than SG1 but SG1 had the humor. In reality, you are saying something is superior SOLELY based on your preferences. No objective person can say that one series or movie is better than another series or movie because everyone has their own preferences. Just one person who prefered the movie over the series would nullify any arguments over "superiority". Note that my logic does not apply to real life, but only to entertainment.

  • except for the fact that the movie was actually realistic, having aliens that DIDNT FUCKING SPEAK ENGLISH, and didnt break any laws of physic like sg1 did, sound doesnt travel theough space etc sg1 is a nightmare

  • Agreed. Any sci-fi show is going to be a low-rent version of a movie. Second rate actors, second rate production values, second rate everything.

And mass popularity means nothing. Tens of millions of people watch American Idol, for fuck's sake.

  • Why not just agree, that the Movie rocked, and the series rocked. I Loved both. New idea, interesting concept, and it makes for a every large, open ended universe. Instead of arguing Realism, verses breaking the laws of physics, why not just enjoy it? Realism should have nothing to do wit ha Si-Fi movie, or show haha! its never going to happen. Imagine if star wars was realistic? No sound in space? it would be boring. It makes things worth watching.

  • i love sg-1 but i think that atlantis is way better

  • no, sg-1 is, the wraith are a joke compared to the goa'uld. the goa'uld just DRIP with evil heh

  • how can you say that, the goa'uld are tiny parasites, the wraith are another race of beings who suck the life out of humans just by touching them, the wraith wont be defeated, probably in the movie but i dont know. The goa'uld were probably the easiest enemy kill, look at the ori and the replicaters, they were far more powerful than them. The tau'ri destroyed EVERY system lord. The goa'uld were just crap at been evil cause you could just see straight through them

  • And then they built the Golden Calf. 4 RA to the bitter end.

  • What would have that scene perfect if the weapon would have graffity that said "Love from Earth".

  • im not so much into SG-1, but the movie was amazing. i loved it. the guy playing Ra has that god like attitude so well presented

  • Here's an interesting factoid that is easily missed. At 0:19, when Shau'ri gets up, a hand is laying on the ground next to her and Anubis's corpse.

That hand is Ra's hand with the hand device still in it. In the scene where Daniel escapes, Ra's arm gets trapped between the rings, and just as Anubis was decapitated, Ra's hand is beamed down.

That is why Ra roars in pain and anger and is limping around, since he just lost his hand.

  • didn't notice that

    thanks for pointing this out

  • The movie wasn't that bad guys. But, they did manage to turn it into an obsession for some.

  • You're complaining about the wormhole not looking realistic? This is Science Fiction, not a documentary.

Judging from your comment you obviously haven't got what the charm and genius of the tv shows is, I'm not gonna bother explaing

  • Comment removed

  • exalted since all wormhole science is theory based, they really have no idea what a wormhole would look like. also the wormhole is kind of mirror, it explains the ripples in early episodes. Also most of the science in the show is accurate to actual theories and facts.

  • Comment removed

  • The Stargate movie is crappy? Personally I think its brilliant.

  • Oh I tought that he got killed in the Tv series again. Ok thank you !

  • Oh I wanted to ask how did Ra died in SG-1 TV series. I know that Daniel killed him but how and in wich episode?

  • This happens before the series, Ra was dead before it started

  • yup, and his death, put 'kick me' signs on our earthin backs as far as the goa'uld are concerned.

  • Ra was the supreme system lord so technically it helped the other system lords like apophis and anubis rise to power

  • What no, i wasn't talking about that.

I was saying, Ra's death alerted the other system lords that we earthlings, reached a point where we are a threat to them once more. So when we killed Ra, we put ourselfes in the Goa'uld's "Top 5 species to destroy" list. I wasn't dissing Ra's place on the Counsel.

  • Stargate SG-1 rulezz and Atlantis and the ark of truth and the continuum but the original movie was very bad. I don't like the original movie

  • Comment removed

  • it's not the same when they killed off jaye,he is my favourite baddy ;) they should of made stargate 2 with ra in it aswell, it's not the same as all the other episodes i've watched are not that good, sorry i don't mean 2offend anyone just my oppinion, they should off kept ra in all the series

  • When the alien appears during the countdown, something odd occurs. The human host body disappears, and is nowhere to be seen when the alien recoils at 1:00-1:01.

At the end of the novel, when Ra sees the bomb ring in, the alien wrenches himself free from Ra's body. Ra's body falls lifelessly to the ground and instantly ages 10,000 years, i.e. disintegrating into dust, leaving the alien ready to take another host body.

This possession process is pretty different from the Goa'uld version.

  • A lot of things between the series and movie are different.

  • That's right, but I am not talking about that. I am talking about this specific scene in its specific context aside from the TV show. In that context, what I am talking about is invalid and irrelevant.

I was merely showing the differences between the alien's possession process and the Goa'uld symbiote one.

The movie alien's is technological in nature, while the Goa'uld's is biological in nature.

One is fatal to the host if the creature leaves, the other is not necessarily so.

  • this scene what you talking about is just for people so they will know the "ra" was dead and his host to.

in the scene when daniel talk about "history of Ra" we can se the goauld symbiot on the picture above picture of jung boy who scered the ra

  • so that Ra originally invented the concept of naquadah-enhanced nukes? XD

  • jaye is so sexy it's unbelievable! i've watched this about a thousand times! isn't he the fittest guy on earth!

  • but i still think they should not of killed ra it's not the same without him!!

  • Its a pity that there never will be sequels to the original Stargate movie. While I used to enjoy SG1 etc., I find it to be too much like Star Trek.

Having bought the original novelization, the sequel novels along with learning the original concepts, I have come to lose interest in the spin-off series.

If there ever are "sequels", Devlin and co. should have someone else direct and write the dialogue, because he and Emmerich are pretty inept at writing good dialogue and characters.

  • there will be a sequel to the movie soon, showing part of non-Egyptian mythologies, then a third movie tying everything together

  • That was Devlin's plan from his announcement in summer 2006. Nothing has surfaced since then, and many people have expressed their dislike at such a prospect.

I'd suspect that he failed, gave up, and moved on.

Even though the franchise is winding down, there's one irrevocable fact: Wright's work has DEFINED what Stargate is, while the film and its material are relics of an obscure, failed vision.

  • Fine, you can keep your lame retarded series. I want the movie back as it was. With the real Jack O'Neill - Kurt russell.

  • What? I believe you misunderstood me. I never said I was a fan of the shows; in fact I dislike them considerably.

I was only pointing out that Devlin's plans have so far amounted to nothing. As of early March, this year, he said that no progress had been made, though he's still hopeful.

Even if you or I think it's lackluster, that means nothing. The VAST majority of SG fans like the show more than the movie, and there are millions of them worldwide.

A small number like us don't matter.

  • I have the novelization of the movie, and the creature that we see was able to inhabit the boy Ra because he used some sort of technology that would allow him to enter/meld with another being.

Judging by how the alien is glowing blue-white but clearly solid, I would imagine that the technology sort of puts him in matter-energy state that allows him to literally submerge into another being.

I love his expression when he sees the bomb counting down. Its classic.
