  • Yeah, teens may say they'd leave the country, but somehow I think the majority uh wouldn't be able to because it's well kind of expensive. This is a load of shit. Parents have a right to know....and 48 hours is NOTHING.

  • Somtimes women die because of abortion

and somtimes women die in labor

    So prop4 is really bullshit

  • Suppose you have a 16 years old daughter who got pregnant by a 20 years old guy. Do you want to know what's going on? And why does a 16 years old girl need parental permission for tattoo and navel/tongue piercing, but not for major operation like abortion? That don't make sense!! And some of the 15/16/17 years old pregnant girls I know don't come from abusive homes.

  • Indeed, a parent deserves the right to know what their child is doing. Teenagers need to get their head out of the clouds (especially underage girls) and realize that it is their parents or guardians who care about them the most. Not the clinic doctors, not Planned Parenthood, or the jerks that got them pregnant in the first place.

  • I am voting yes, I have seen to many incidences. I think it's the furthest thing from protecting our teens. We should be practicing "safe sex" not making it ok for young girls to use abortion as a way for birth control. If I was a mother I would WANT to know if my daughter was getting an abortion so I could help her come to terms with every possibility.

  • If girls are going to be SO immature that they can't tell their parents they fucked up, then they should suffer through a pregnancy and watch their lives slip away with a baby. YES ON PROP 4. Don't let these videos tell you how to be a "good parent" Good parents have good communication with their children and a child should feel comfortable going to their parents about the hard times in their lives.

  • Some people parents would disown them if they found out they were pregnant, or not let them get an abortion. It's not immaturity. Somtimes it's alchohal, meth, sex addiction, ect. Go back to your right wing shit hole.

  • We need right wing conservatives more than ever in this day and age. If liberal have the final word, then it is a doomed fate for us all. We think liberals are helping America, but in my opinion, they are only crippling our values and beliefs towards life and equality.

  • Do you mean because abortion and other controversies are wrong, or because you think that there should be a balance between librals and conservatives?

  • NO ON PROP 4

  • Yay Max! Good job!

  • how sick are you?

  • If a girl went to her school nurse and said she wanted an abortion that nurse would call home. We are not talking about teachers and students. I agree, the interaction you describe is illogical and could never happen.

We are talking about teens who go straight to the clinic. By passing prop 4, you close that option and they go elsewhere. Where is elsewhere? Who knows? Is it as safe as the clinic? I doubt it.

  • NO ON 4

The clinic uses licensed obgyns to preform the abortion. So everything will be sanitary, not like back alley places.

The clinic must be licensed so it will be safe.

Besides, R rated movies will not affect them past a few months when they stop talking about it. Getting an abortion will affect them for life. An abortion is different because it prevents something that affects them way past the age of 18 which is when parental consent ends.

    No on 4

  • I agree with you. Wow doing to a 12 or 10 years old?! that so sick! Yes on prop 4

  • I'm sorry,

But when teenage girls (under the age of 18) even have the legal right to be sexually active (in the first place) then (and only then) can we even begin to discuss whether they have the right to a confidential abortion or not (in the second place)!

Until then, please vote YES on 4 !

  • You have a point, in a perfect world where teenagers never break any laws. How many teenagers do you think decided not to have sex because it's illegal?

We are talking about real life. In real life, teenagers to stupid things. One of them is having sex. Another is getting pregnant. Yet another is not telling a parent if they choose to abort. If the former are illegal and continue unhindered, how are we to expect a different outcome for the third? It just makes it more dangerous to do.

  • You should read my reply again.

It says that there are some things that teens will do regardless of if it is stupid or if there is a law. By my logic, since they will be doing it anyway, they should have access to local professional care, instead of traveling out of state or doing a back-alley abortion.

  • It is estimated that After Missouri implemented its parental notification law, the in-state abortion rate for women under age 18 fell by 20%. During the same time period, the likelihood that a woman in this age group traveled out of state to obtain abortion care increased by 52%.

[Ellerston C. Mandatory parental involvement in minors abortions: Effects of laws in Minnesota, Missouri, and Indiana. Am J Public Health 1997; 87:1367-1374.]

  • I think you have your statistics mixed up. Teen pregnancy rates INCREASED after the Minnesota parental notification law was enacted. I think you meant to say that adolescent abortions went down. Two very different things.

I realize that my other reply is about Missouri, not Minnesota, but it was easier to find research data on Missouri and I don't have all day to reply to youtube posts.

  • Parents are COMPLETELY out of the picture when it comes to 'no on prop 4'. They are oblivious to their child having an abortion. Parents should know what is better for their kids, not vice versa.

  • Parent's should know what is better for their kids, and those kids should listen to their parents. Unfortunately that's not how life works. Teens do stupid things, often against their parents' will. They are FAMOUS for it (Romeo and Juliet anyone?). A good parent would recognize that, and realize that it is more important that their child have access to SAFE medical care, than that they be involved. A good parent does what's best for their kids, and prop 4 is NOT that, despite what you WANT.

  • URL references to the authorities' comments would have been helpful.
