  • Freddie Mercury was never afraid to experiment with different genres which varied considerable from rock, soft metal, italo disco and even opera. Whatever type of performance he did, he was very successful as a solo artist and also as the leader singer of 'Queen'. He was definitely one of the star performers of the 20th century in the 1970's and 1980's before his premature death in late 1991.
