Listening to them both, Mariah and Leona have similar voices when it comes to the same style of songs. This is particularly easy to notice if she sings one of Mariah's songs.

Obviously Mariah has the edge because she has much more power in her belting voice, she has more octaves and can hit higher notes.

I'm not bashing Leona, I like her. I'm just saying that their voices are very similar and that Mariah is slightly better.
