@QsGREG Try unscrewing the yoyo and looking at the string. Sometimes yoyo's are too tightly wound in the middle to be able to sleep. Ideally, you're going to want it the be wrapped 2-3 times around the center bar. How easy it is to make sleep really just depends on how it is wrapped, (beyond your control) so you might want to wrap it, try it out, and if it still isn't working, then try re-wrapping it.

Always when i throw sleeper, the yoyo leans to the right, while the string is touching the yoyo, so the yoyo is slowed down. I just cant let the yoyo sleep with the string right in the middle. Im desparate. I really tryied to throw it straight, than to the left, or to the right a little bit. Can you tell me what to do please? (i know, my english is not so good)

It doesn't matter if it's a butterfly yo-yo. If you have like a $1 yoyo from some cheap store it's not gonna work very well. I got this beginner yoyo off ebay called Fast 201 and it was only like $10 and mine can sleep for like 3 minutes lol.

Sure enough you will find a big differrence in your yo-yoing playing.

Duncan is not good at sleeper. Now with duncan you can do many tricks but most of them involve the sleeper.

The one this guy uses is Dark magic 2. I bought it from Yoyojam and its amazing! Really. It costs a bit but not over 60$ Its guranteed to be good. It is in the section of all levels so you wont have to get a new one everytime.

@LeftyTaco Nope. Duncan can not work with it. Duncan has a manual return which is 50% harder. What you want is dark magic 2. Its from Yoyojam.com and i bought it and it is amazing. It cost a little over 40$ but it is awesome! I love using it. It is in all levels of yo-yoing and its guranteed to work better.

Hey Everyone! The people who seem to have problems with it coming back up after it spins.

What happens if you let it spin to long it loses the momentum and can't come back up. So what you need to do to practice is as soon as you get it in the sleeper position tug it back up before it loses it's momentum.

The more you practice the longer you will be able to keep it "sleeping" before you snap it back up.

It takes practice to not injure yourself.

I use to do this when I was younger, I tought myself how to do the "sleeper" I would always pop it down way to hard and with the giant force it comes back and hits my hand HARD.

Perhaps doing it this way I will not injure myself anymore.... That's unlikely.

@Swanseafan11 you probably dont have a yoyo with a bearing the "spins" or ables it to sleep. try any yoyo website. most of the yo yos are able to sleep and alot are not expensive at all if you dont want to spend much on a yoyo. or you could look into a TOYS R US. i would prefer the yomega fireball. it is the best toys r us has to offer and a great starter yo-yo! get back to me if you would like to know the best sites.

There is a Yo-yo type;It is specially made for tricks.

I just call it a Trick Yo-yo.

Normal Yo-yo comes back up.

Trick Yo-yo doesn't come back up.
