David Fincher is one of my favorite directors. After brilliant Seven, Alien 3, Fight Club and Panic Room I had to watch Zodiac too. It was real challenge cause the story is based on true events. The whole film was good but still not what I'd expect. The atmos[here wasn't as scary/thrilling as it was in The Silence of the Lambs, Copycat, Seven or even The Zodiac (version 2005 with Justin Chambers & Robin Tunney). Anyway Mark Ruffalo showed brilliant acting. Gyllenhaal & Downey Jr. were great too
great movie, in the audio commentary, they compare it to "All the president's men" which is a great comparison. It's a perfect detective story. It's not a serial killer movie, which of course is what most people think it's going to be. Great acting, directing.Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Downey, Anthony Edwards, John Caroll Lynch are excellent

That is a disputed fact----meaning the most notorious serial killer. The media has their own definition of who the most notorious serial killer.
The same applies to Son of Sam,The Night Stalker,Jeffery Dahlmar,The DC/Belway Snipers and so on.
