  • The Internet is very wide like a universe of it's own.

  • The internet is a powerful medium of communication, be it personal or business-related.

  • Tell me if you agree ---- >

he said: "The problem was the experiment went too far..." --- meaning, it gave to

much freedom, and power to the people.

Does that not sound like this elitist is working for corporate-government interests,

not the people -- for disempowering the people from free speech.

He knows, like all of the rogue governments, they have too install a NEW internet for THEM, for which they can better control.

Please click my thumbs up if you agree -- thanks

  • @andy18401 You're forgetting that Mr. Cerf and his team were working on an academic basis in a formal research guise. They weren't developing a communication tool for the people. In fact, they were working with government agencies almost exclusively. As such, his original idea of the internet was different to what it is now.

  • Vint Cerf, man, I have to thank your and Bob Kahn's genius in creating the Internet. You are one of the most important people of the 20th and 21st centuries.

  • .... oh god... all this free masons start to bore me! they are just everywhere everytime telling their bullshit to the people. As if it's not enough they do it like they were funny! Just poor beings selling the world and loosing themselfs in the end

  • i am from mexico i ve heard two times this guy in i belive we have in mexico.brains

like him that can guide persons in explanations about internet .ah the only evangelist

yhat counts in any area is the one to belong to the people that go to cevangelical churches

  • i am from mexico i ve heard two times this guy in i belive we have in mexico.brains

like him that can guide persons in explanations about internet

  • I think every one can learn something from this man. take a step back a respect the awesome brilliance within this video. Knowledge is power and this man shows both. Respect success.

  • It funny if you take a step back and look at the big picture like this... You can see technology taking over our world at an insanely fast rate. I bet by the year 2050 you will be able to digitally interact with almost anything. The question about the world wide web turning society into a perfect democracy is interesting... what the internet does do is provide facts and knowledge to those who know how to find it.

  • how do u become a computer scientist?

  • @yezidi11

An undergraduate degree in Computer Science is usually the first step.

  • @yezidi11 You can't. Computers are based on a lie based on Communism which itself was based on lies about transfinite numbers and set theory by Cantor.

  • Did he really say "nincompoop" 04:38 I find that a little rude to the guy that just gave him such great into. But it was fascinating to know that about Al Gore

  • was he talking about the frist guy randy something when he said some nincompoop brings that up lolss..not cooooooooool..i respecttt vint

  • Internet freedom will soon be over through NSPD 51 sec. 11c & 11e. The NWO government of America will soon have their Red, Blue, & Yellow list of US citizens completed. They have been using the internet to know their enemies. The citizens who need to be killed & the ones they can control. This is why you have access to the truth now. Soon it will be taken away from you as Martial Law begins and the death camps start rounding up the people on their list. This warning is real:watch?v=n-EHpMkcgDM

  • I aspire to be like this man!

  • how? old?

  • have we forgotten that google owns youtube. If you pay a couple billion dollars for youtube I'm sure you will post 100 minute videos too.

  • you know that would be cool ... if you cold visualize some world statistics with cool music 'n stuff

  • Brilliant

  • well, seems like they get to upload high quality video, on my system it loads like a turtoil. why the heck does youtube has to descriminate yours, some get more kb bit rates and some don't.... come one youtube, please don't be racist... My thumbs up to "

  • he tried to cross that one guy out after he made the remark about al gore...

  • I can't believe I sat through the whole 82 minutes. At least I learned some neat stuff about the Internet. :_)

  • man, he will be remembered long after I am god, but damn, I would hate to hang out with him.

Genius people dont always have the best personality-demanding nerds

  • Reason I say that is because he mispronounced CANBERRA

thank god, hes imperfect in one respect

New Years Resolution: If I dont know how to pronounce a word, ie from personal experience, than I wont pronounced it

  • He reminds me of my biochemistry professor who taught for 50 years at UC Berkeley

    The Greatest Generation

Thanks Professor Cerf, your legacy was the greatest of the American Century

  • Great info!

  • WOW 82 Minutes :O:O

  • For me this video provided a great review of the internet history and future potential. The video put the grand scheme of things into a good perspective. I enjoyed the anecdotes.

  • 82:27

    hmmm

    ... wtf

  • hahahahahahah!!!!!!

    wow...

  • Who actually watched all of this?

  • me :)

    it was worth the time

  • olum ne diyon sen maynakmisin basa belamisin akilli yaww anlamiyog koccum urfada oxfor mu vardi ingilizce bilek

  • Vint Cerf offers a fascinating retrospective of the Internet, as well as, a look into its future. I was particularly interested in the segment about IPTV.

    Laurent Pacalin

  • I never hear anyone say "nincompoop" anymore.

  • "So I can poop you"

remember the sock puppet on Conan OBrien

  • Anthony C. Lyons, Jr.

    CEO - MultiChannel Web

    Holla

  • Vint is a legend :-)

Amazing stories about the Internet baby years.

Together with Robert E. Kahn and Jon Postel, he contributed to what we call today Internet more than anyone else.

  • I enjoyed this video more than any of the videos I have seen on any youtube, as this video/presentation is about everyone and everything online, the development of the internet, what we have now, and its future. Excellent speaker; what a mind. I learned a lot, I am going to research and process much of the information put forth. Thank you, Vint Cerf.

  • Google owns YouTube!

  • yeah lol

  • an the internet owns everything :]

  • Inventing the Internet by Janet Abbate

or Where Wizards Stay up Late

Both excellent reading from my days at UC Santa Cruz

Both great histories of United States Greatest Legacy

The Innovation of Information, Communication Technologies

What fortunate recipients we are to follow in the footsteps

    of this Wizard

  • LMAO a couple of mins 82 mins?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • how can it longer than 10 minutes??

  • OMG they OWN the site.... i think they can get around the 10 minutes law

  • Because this is from the "Official" Google channel. Look for the logo on the right.

  • Yeah? I just watched the whole thing while winning at Moola. Level 9 boy!

  • Wow, I watched the whole thing, with no skipping or anything. I really like the part about the refrigerator lol =)

  • Anyone have a transcript?

  • yeah, ill read it as my bedtime story

jeez, watching and listening him, i believe we are still in the Matrix

    that voice is amazing

  • I got an idea, as to how to post our own videos of more than 8 or 10 minutes duration. First we have to split them into different parts, and then post them as parts 1,2 and so on. Also we have to give links to video splitters and joiners, so that people can download the bits and pieces and join them and enjoy them as a full video. Thats what I did with Warren buffet's MBA video of 10 parts. ;)

  • yup, that's generally how movies are put on. its how I watched pirates of silicone valley, and the D5 Wall Street Journal Interview.

  • Oh my gosh... 80 minutes.

  • What's wrong with people's attention spans? I'm not flaming anyone, I'm honestly interested (and a bit shocked). Can't you concentrate for 80 minutes? How do you get through lectures? Or school, or a movie? Or even worse, a 70-hour Japanese RPG?

  • I like how he keeps calling data packets, "bags of bits" lol

and yea, I watched the whole thing. It's the same thing as watching a movie. If you find it interesting you wanna watch the whole thing.

  • who actually has time to watch 80 mins of this?? seriously??

    i wanna know lol

  • Someone who doesn't call themself 'slayer', perhaps.

  • Why is it that only Google can have videos longer then 10 minutes long on YouTube?

  • becaus egoogle owns youtube.

  • you propably haven't seen many vids on youtube, since many have vids longer than 10mins.

  • Did anyone watch the entire thing?

  • well, i saw it live and i really, really recommand watching it.

  • Yes. And?

  • hahahahaha guy looks like Ben Stiller (except balder and a lil bit different features)

  • so what your saying is he doesnt look like him at all? hahaha

  • LOL I guess I set myself up for that one huh? anyways, let me re-phrase---"hahahahahahhaa guy looks like Ben Stiller except a bit bald!" LOL come on, acknowledge the good observation already!

  • yeah awesome observation. have you ever thought of being an abstract art critic?

  • ok, now your being mean and unobservant because anyone would agree that he looks like BEN STILLER GODAMMIT! LOLOL ---just for the record---ANYONE WHO READS THIS COMMENT AND DISAGREES WITH ME THAT THE FIRST GU HAS NO RESEMBLANCE WHATSOEVER TO BEN STILLER LET ME KNOW---I wanna know that i'm not goin crazy, seriously!

  • hahaha sorry. just calm down and take some happy pills.

  • how many u got and how much each?

  • hahahaha jk.

  • "different features"...then he doesn't look like Ben Stiller.

  • i can't believe he called his gracious introducer a nincompoop!

  • If he was stumping for Gore,

then I reneg all the comments I stated

A GENIUS, and his politics are good too

HE KNOWS A WINNER BECAUSE HE IS ONE

What a genius, still humble in some respects too.

Sorry for my dumb statements, previously. Thanks, Dr. Cerf. you are the best of America

    Nice Corsage

  • That was a real treat. Thanks, Google channel.

  • nice lol

  • Ace ! :)

  • An elegant solution from a killer app allowing the IPv4 and IPv6 to interact together in real time has to come out of left field by somebody awesome, Now.

    -

Getting a web cam server on the Moon, or at least in lunarstationary orbits using the InterPlanetaryNet protocal, eliminating delay and disruption, Awesome.

    -

TV sucks big time due the constant interruptions. Choosing when to mouseover an interesting object inside the video, Bingo. :-)

  • enjoyed the history lesson

  • p.s. "The fridge idea is so hilarious ...but so useful" ...maybe in the future :))

  • daaaamn...!!!! dude this vid is to looooong !!!

  • Don't be an attention span-challenged teenager.

  • haha 20:30 your voice sounds like a drunken Norwegian.

  • Google & Apple are partners--that is hardly a secret (i'm just saying this cuz i wasnt sure if everyone else knows that)

  • not right now, but Google is not against forming partnerships with ANY other businesses

  • Iep. Eric Schmidt is on the board of Apple directors...

  • the dude looks like ben stiller lol

  • I'm at 15:30 and want to make this remark: 300 baud ruled! My first modem (on a TI-PC in 1982) screamed at that speed and made me feel like George Jetson!

  • Google owns Youtube lol. so they can do anything they want.

  • So apparently, the owners can destroy the 10 minute limit. Interesting video. Good upload.

  • there is no 10 minute limit if you have for example a directors account.

  • Vint rocks.
