  • The version on skate 3 is hilarious!! The mumbling and weird voice is just ridiculously perfect for a good day!

  • Unfortunatly that's NOT the live Woodstock Version.

You can find the real Version on the Original Woodstock album "Woodstock: Music from the Original Soundtrack and More".

You can find it nowhere on the internet because its a quite bad sung version.

    Bob Hite himself said:

"The Woodstock performance which although there were a couple of tunes which weren't too good, ‘Going Up The Country’ was one of them."

But it doesn't matter because its still a great song and great band.

  • Best country song thanks for writting this song guys lol

  • 0:27 for the song :)

I realy hate this time and THIS song makes me able to feel a little on what we don't have now

  • This is the generation that brought us the corporate 80's and 90's. Ugh

  • I would like to take everybody here to Woodstock. C'mon let's GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JeAlleeSuis ;D YOU RULE!!!

  • Makes you wonder if the hippie days will ever come back around, what did the 90s and 2000s really have

  • @Gazooo29 Never happen. Simplicity back then. We didnt have to have the newest Iphone or a laptop or designer jeans and most of all, we had better music.

  • SKATE FWEE

  • @chickenceaserwrap So awesome...

  • i shoulda been born in 48' that would put me ealry 20's for woodstock!

  • @neversolost me 2 lol

  • I recently received a real hapshash and coloured coat poster for Christmas.

  • me encantaria haber nacido en eeuu y haber sido una hippie en woodstock ...sobre todo por ver a joplin y hendrix...y sentir esa libertad y evasion ,,,,,,,,

  • I first heard this song in a laundry detergent commercial ten years ago and I finally found it!

  • @elweffa I need the name of that laundry detergent please.

  • meet the Fockers haha

  • So was I born in the wrong decade

  • I was in this segment as one of the dancing silhouettes with the bushy hair flailing, after the rainstorm slowed down a bit, following Joe Cocker's set. I was in a dance circle, as the film crew started to come through the crowd with their cameras and mics pointed our way. They did a good job of weaving around us while they were working. I didn't realize, at the time, this would be an Academy Award winning music documentary, or that I would be in it, until my first movie showing in downtown Hbg

  • @eaglewray nice! must have been amazing to be part of it. and you had some big hair! :)

  • I get so much joy from watching these clips and listening to this song.

  • cette génération de doux dingues a sauvé nos âmes

  • @Sstoge21 Lets Go buddy! lol

  • I'm so jealous of all those people in the video.. haven't a care in the world and just free. As I sit here at work trying to make ends meet.

  • @Seattlenwhc If it makes you feel any better, I was there in 69 and today I am working trying to still make ends meet. But you are right. It was a whole lot better back then.

  • @goodthing52 yeah, unfortunately we can't pick an era and stay there...these times suck

  • @Seattlenwhc dont be jealous most of them had to go to work after a few years of play, just like all of us. They just had a really cool couple of years to be young adults.

  • Such a chill ass song

  • @EuanHurley

I can't believe it. I too would wish to live in that age. I listen to rock because of my father, but i preger The Doors and Deep Purple. And I'm almost as ild as you!! (15) Isn't it just strange?

  • @MegaMajdo not so strange.. I'm 19, raised with rock n' roll, lived with that feeling my whole live..

  • Why am I alive now. Why could I not be alive in the 60's and 70's. I'm 16, and I have grown up with this sort of music all my life, due to my father. Bands such as The Greatful Dead, Little Feat, Trout, Canned Heat(obviously), Guy Clark, JJ Cale, Neil Young. I love this so much. Thank you so much for the upload :)

  • Souvenir, souvenir....

  • wat a classic

  • love love. really wish i could share with my all my girls

  • Wonderful. The best Woodstock video I've seen. "Three days of peace and music." Metalink: goingupcountry.nodes.org ( You can remember it! )

  • @ifuckinJB im 13 too and JB sucks asshole i wish thier were more kids like us. :(

  • i was born in the wrong era

  • @ifuckinJB at least we have 9gag... "It's something".

  • @ifuckinJB Me to, so I decided to decorate my bedroom into a hippie pad and everything of that culture and of this era, LOL :-)

  • @NEMESIS1JUSTICE4ALL You got to have a lava lamp to make it complete. I did my room in the 60s.

  • @goodthing52 Do I need LOTS of blacklight posters to make it look trippy?

  • @NEMESIS1JUSTICE4ALL However you do it wouldnt be wrong because every TRIP was different. Oh yeah, a little incense helps too.

  • @goodthing52 Good because I just purchased a Buddha incense burner.

  • @NEMESIS1JUSTICE4ALL After you do the room, you have to start tie dying your shirts, wear bell bottoms, head band , peace pendant necklace etc

  • @ifuckinJB make it happen again :D

  • @ifuckinJB you sir defiantley have the best youtube name and i mean the best.

  • 1234567890-=][POIUYTREWQ

  • If only I could build a time machine. I would go back in time to Woodstock with a ton of soap to sell and become a millionaire.

  • WOODSTOCK 1969 is the best open air concert of all time and no one could beat it..it was a history..

  • I was there in 69 and I think I will go back and start a " Occupy Woodstock". And Im going to pitch a tent , get high and forget all the insanity in this crazy world today.

  • @goodthing52 Can I come? I think this Occupy business is a good way to restart the hippie culture. Let's get there before the punks get their hands on it.

  • @Saskatchewan00 We are going where the water taste like wine!

  • @goodthing52 Oh shit - I was trying to get a band together, and the drummer left because she thought I was too much of a hippie. Isn't that hilarious?

  • @Saskatchewan00 Get the drummer back. Gotta have a drummer with us. Nothing wrong with being a hippie either. Especially today.

  • @goodthing52 We'll find another. One that isn't afraid of my opinions. And the world needs hippies. The world needs to eat some mushrooms.

  • @Saskatchewan00 Got to be all inclusive brother. How about two drummers.I see you like New Riders of the Purple Sage. Good band. " Henry" Good song. Peace!

  • its funny you tell the person with knowledge to shut up, did you know any of that?

  • Dear LoneTinaja,

    Shut up

  • (Cont.) The leading public health doctors at our most prestigious medical

institutions warn that weakening our pollution control laws would cause the

rate of various diseases to rise substantially, especially lung & cardiovascular

diseases, costing many times more money to treat over the years than the

industries would save. Also, human suffering would rise greatly & more &

more Americans would die. Your help is needed very much. Fight for your

future & for the future of America. Thank you

  • (Cont.) I ask the younger generations to fight hard against any attempt to

weaken our air & water pollution control laws. Do not believe those who say

that our environmental regulations are too tough & that weakening them will

create lots of jobs. That is simply the strategy of industries who don't want

to have to keep spending a reasonable amount of money for pollution control.

So, they give big bucks to many politicians to push the same deceptive

    strategy. (Cont.)

  • (Cont.) Planning was underway for the first Earth Day. When April 22, 1970

came 20 million people turned out across America. It was beautiful. It was far

& away the largest public demonstration that had ever happened in America.

President Nixon told the Republicans that if they kept blocking passage of the

pollution control laws they would lose badly in the November 1970 elections.

Soon Congress passed the Clean Air Act & the Clean Water Act.

  • (Cont.) Pollution worsened, more folks got sick & deaths rose, especially from

air pollution in many major cities. More & more ordinary Americans joined

environmental groups to pressure Congress. By the mid '60s pollution was so

bad large numbers of folks were dying. Almost all the Democratic legislators

now were supporting passage of some control laws, but the Republicans

blocked it. More & more Americans joined the fight for relief. By the end of

the decade there were many millions.

  • I'm 60 & saw the events I'm describing for you younger generations.By the

beginning of the '60s air & water pollution had risen to high, harmful levels in

many areas of the U.S. There were no federal pollution control laws. Many

ordinary Americans fought to get some relief, but various industries fought

hard to block any control laws, & they gave big bucks to lots of Republican

legislators & a small number of Democratic legislators who blocked passage

of any pollution control laws. (Cont.)
