hey guys, you may also wanna try a (BWO) Blue Wing Olive. I tie one with a turkey T base flat in a light dun it also acts as an indicator for my wing and dun hackle I kill it on the east and west fork and a fly i call the fluttering caddis dubbing in the rear deer hair wing and hackle in the front, that fly is also deadly in the sierras i don't get out as much cause i don't like going solo but i have my dog now and we should be making more trips this next year tight lines
You need to improve your technique when releasing fish... the less you handle them the better. might I suggest a Kethcum Release ? It allows you to keep the fish in the water and not touch them.
@(hoshnasi), Nice vid! by the way I'm up there almost every weekend fly fishing and i believe that is my tapered leader bag because i use that same brand and i buy them from sport chalet. Thank you for picking it up!. Oh yea the trout platforms up the road offer great dry fly fishing . I get most of mine on california mosquitos and elk hair caddis, anyways great vid Tight Lines !
@shadowcast95 Give me some more details on the trout platforms? What are they? How is it casting from them? Also, how much of a walk from the parking lot?
@hoshnasi the platforms are these concrete flats that kinda stretch out onto the river, they were designed so that handicap people can fish. the first platform its about a quarter mile from that wild trout marker sign and there is 4 of them along the river and each one of them is about a quarter mile from each other. I usually bring my road bike and fish every single one of them . oh yea if you are a good roll caster then the platforms are for you because it is complicated over head cast
Awesome video man. I am just purchasing my first gear to go hiking and camping as I never been. I all ways had a dream to camp close to a stream and fish and hike . Is their any such place in southern California (San ban Bernardino mountains / big bear or San Gabriel ? Thanks for your time. I have been looking at hydration packs like black hawk and others and I am all ready bag crazy and I haven't even purchased one yet lol..

do any of you know where a good spot for fishing is near El Monte, other than Santa Fe Dam and Legg Lake??
JacobNJordan 7 months ago
@JacobNJordan pull up Google maps, look for parks with large bodies of water. They will almost certainly have fish of some kind.

@coltca 605 North, to the 210 east, exit Azuza and go North. Stay to the left on when you hit the mountains.
Also, just Google San Gabriel fishing.
