What a twat. Us Brits bail the Euro out constantly and then he tells us to keep our noses out of the Euro's business? You're accepting our hundreds of millions of pounds every week though aren't you, you French fuck.
Time for Britain to leave that pathetic attempt of a superstate.
Why is anyone suprised?Charles De Gaulle paraded down the Champs de Elysee taking the victory for beating the Germans away from the real men who conquered them... Le Americains!
Second Paris was liberated by french resistance and by the Leclerc second heavy division without the US agreement.
Third, the initial US plan was to build a new french government with a new money (french dollar) and under US domination and without the french people agreement.
And finally, De Gaulle never forget that this was US troops who liberate france in 1944 (as this was french troops who help USA in 1779).

By the way, the holocaust museum refers to the arrest of thousands jews in Paris by the french police under Petain control who decided to help gestapo as much as possible. So, it was not the french resistance (who was not the french government (vichy)).
Napo124- According to what is posted, it clearly states the "Resistance" turned in the jews as means to gain favor with the gestapo. I'm sure the french textbooks have re-written it. Adieu!!!
My last post: french government wanted to gain favor with the gestapo by arrested thousand of jews (I'm agree with you). But I don't know where you read that, but french resistance NEVER help gestapo. Please learn more!
I can't let you say something like that... There was a lot of rench resistants who died for their opinions and it's really unfair that you say this today.
However, IF YOU ARE SURE THAT FRENCH RESISTANCE HELP GESTAPO, please give me a web link ;)
Wikipedia says jews made up about 1% of the general population in France, but about 15-20% of the resistance movement. It seems implausible to say the least that such an organization would help their enemy carry out the holocaust.
@Leonnidik: Apparently your source is confusing the resistance with the nazi-collaborating puppet government of Vichy. A quick visit to wikipedias article entitled "French resistance" might be a good idea.
I'm a Norwegian living in Paris. We were taught in school that Paris was indeed liberated by the French; at the request of general De Gaulle, the allies let the French go in front to have the honor of liberating their capital. We were also told collaboration with nazis was widespread in France - though one should not forget that antisemitism was rife in all of Europe at the time.
In general I'd say reading our own history as told by foreigners can only broaden our horizons. :)
@dophin74: WE ARE NOT IN ARABLAND, WE ARE IN FRANCE...AND WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, WE DONT HAVE THE SAME VALUES AND WE ARE CIVILIZED, WE DONT STRIKE PEOPLE, YOU DONT KNOW HUMAN RIGHTS...BUT WE DO
I agree. It was the dudes right to insult him but also Sarkozy's right to insult him back. I also agree with Sarky on this one. If the dude doesn't like him then he should get out of there.
i disagree there. sarkozy may have the right to insult back, but he is a leader of state. he has to set an example, so he should not exercise that right to insult. imagine what it would be like if he insulted everyone who criticized him. as a leader of state you have big responsabilities, and will always have ppl around you who criticize. perhaps that guy's plan was to be there to insult sarkozy in the first place
You can be sure that the guy was there to insult Sarky. I see your point about Sarky setting an example yet standing up for yourself and not allowing yourself to be pushed around is a rather good example to set.
well, that's true also. but sarkozy is notorious for speaking his mind, perhaps sometimes, a bit too much. maybe berlusconi would react like sarkozy did, but i dont see any other state leaders doing the same thing. sarkozy's behavior is somewhat intimidating at times
On behalf of all European TAXPAYERS,...I hope all European Union employees had a wonderful Christmas (at our expense), as you do each year.

All politicians flatter to decieve. Do you really think Obama is the Second Coming? Haha. As for Sarkozy, speaking as an Englishman here, he's every inch as special as Obama. He's part Jewish, Hungarian and Greek. He comes from nowhere, is an aristocrat through his father and has been divorced three times. Not bad going to get to the top in France with that cv. If you read any of his speeches you would appreciate he has a formiddable intellect and is extremely eloquent.
I'm no Obama fanatic - far from it, but to be fair I will make my judgment when I see what policies he implements rather than the rhetoric he has spewed to date.
this is what happens when you mix alcohol, with powerstands, i mean presidency and alcohol. Shame of this man. Poor of him. Go to AA, good for him good for his nation. Don`t you think so?
He is an evil and arrogant stooge of the Zionists, sent to break the spirit and will of the French people, the same way that Bush has broken Americans' by making them work more hours for less pay, no benefits, etc. --- that is what he give the French.
But, unlike Americans, at least the French will fight back.
YEAH, before the crisis he said that french werent enough in debt with their bank like american. He thank seriously that debt with a bank was solution.
Sarkozy said that French people didnt consume and invest enough, and that french people were so much less in debt that the American one (for example). Saving rate in US is under 2%, but close to 15% in France!!
He wanted to encourage French people to get more loans than before to consume and invest, just simple as that!!
YES, its totally what i had said. Sarko wanted french are more in debt. Happy i doesnt have listen him. He wantd that because he believed in american economy, but crisis is the proof that another economy must to be do. Sarko is idiot. Just want some points of economy grows, he dont care about poors.

He is an embarrassment to France.
Perhaps if the Russian President refuses to shake his hand one day, he will be launching nuclear weapons the next.
As president, as a world leader, these people are supposed to represent a country of people. He is representing French culture, manners, life, literally everything. If he wants to be as childish as this guy, he shouldn't have opted to be president.
The King of Spain gave an "strong answer" to Hugo Chanvez, but in any time he insulted him.
And even, Hugo Chavez is one pseudo-dictator who deserves little respect from any democratic person.
Nicolas Sarkozy insulted one citizen of France, the persons he is supossed to serve. It is evident, although, that he doesn't understand this, and that he thinks that he is Louis XVI.
I have to admit, that I am totally disappointed with Sarkozy.
paracon- but the man insulted Sarkozy first. Who says to a world leader 'Get your filthy hands off me'? Sarkozy was only reacting as any insulted person would. Imagine if he pretended everything was fine- people would accuse him of only being interested in image.
" Who says to a world leader 'Get your filthy hands off me'?" Who can say that in a democracy? Anyone interested in the protection of the person. As far as it is known, establishing body contact with people without an authorization is offensive, so who gives this world leader the permission to lay his hand on this man? The man clearly requested from this world leader to remove his hands from him(dont touch me). This world leader did not comply, then ("you are smearing me")
The CZMan- I am not objecting to criticism of Sarkozy- and your'e right- in a democracy thats ok- but the guy was clearly rude. He knew Sarkozy was shaking hands with people so why was he there? Just to demonstrate he didn't like Sarkozy- if he had a complaint, he could have just directly said it instead of being rude. Sarkozy believes in being brutally honest- the guy insulted him so he insulted the guy back. So what. Do expect him to put on a big smile for the cameras?
Under these conditions, why had this world leader move towards somebody who was expressing a disagreement to establish unwished physical contact? Provocation?
The citizen was probably unfriendly so why force on him a physical contact? What is that?
I agree. Stating facts is a sign of mental retardation these days. Dealing lies, propagation, half truth, half lie stuff is more better and desired by popular demand.
Maybe he could have used humor to defuse the situation but Sarko is not a funny guy. I mean he showed up to meeting with Putin drunk (even though Putin was probably drunk the whole time too)
Give that old man a cigar, and a medal, he's a true patriot. He refuses to shake the hand of a traitor who friendly welcome on French soil Mouammar Kadhafi a few weeks ago. You know Khadafi, that's the SOB who ordered his terrorist squads to shoot down an airplane full of innocent French citizens. Imagine G. Bush inviting Bin Ladin at the White House. The man should have spit on the face of his vomitive president.
After his marriage to Carla Bruni and this insult to a citizen, Sarkozy is gonna get more and more enemies. Segolene Royal should be the President of France, not a guy who's used to appearing on media not for politics.
The translation is wrong: The man said first "don't touch me", in a very familiar way, but not totally insulting, then Sarko answered "You asshole", so the other told him "you put dirt on me", and Sarko :" Fuck off, you asshole!".
So what? I dislike Sarkozy's politics very much, really....but all he did here was listen to an insult & give it right back. The protestor wasn't explaining a point of disagreement, just expressing contempt. Did he actually expect a measured, thoughtful response? Come on.
It's almost a relief when someone's as straightforward as this. And I'm a lefty, no fan of his!
So what? I dislike Sarkozy's politics intensely....but all he did here was hear an insult & give it right back. The "protestor" wasn't explaining a point of disagreement, just expressing contempt. Did he actually expect a thoughtful response?
Wish this happened more often actually. Beautifully succinct.

The King of Spain told Chavez, President of Venezuela to shut up. The King was supported by his people.
Under other circumstances the King of Spain would not have done that.
But there are times when some people deserve strong answers, that is what the King did.
SARKOZY found himself in the same situation. He gave a strong answer to the rude french man.
SOme presidents have killed people. Look at Fidel Castro, at the Chilean dictators, at the history of Argentina: Evil people.

Well, it is not what happened. Here is the sequence as shown by the video.
This world leader established physical contact without permission.
Citizen requested to cease physical contact "dont touch me"
World leader did not comply.
Citizen used the sentence " you are smearing me" to move away the world leader.
World leader complied and insulted him.
That is what happened.
Besides, apparently, the citizen was exerting his right to freedom of speech by booing the world leader.

Viva la France!!!!!
Rock n' Roll France!!!!!

The translation is wrong: The man said first "don't touch me", in a very familiar way, but not totally insulting, then Sarko answered "You asshole", so the other told him "you put dirt on me", and Sarko :" Fuck off, you asshole!".

well, then he is wrong! and the guy who translated this video is wrong too.

Wish this happened more often actually. Beautifully succinct.
