If there is a growing number of scientists saying GW is not man-made (which there is now) then why not concentrate on more important environmental issues, like de-forrestation and overpopulation. if the poles arent melting please explain how an ice shelf the size of sweden (i think) mysteriously broke off in a space of a month due to melted water on the surface boring holes into the ice right down to the rock (on land) and making ofshore ice have the same structural integrity of crumpets. land based ice then slides into the sea. Lol that's Forensic Science. Forensics, as a class, is a speaking and acting category that a lot of US (not sure if it's in the UK or not) students take. You pick an event (i.e. Serious Solo Acting, Informative Speech, Duet Acting, etc.) and either write a speech or pick a script to perform. You then go to tournaments where you compete with other students from different schools. It's a ton of fun, but no one seems to know anything about it. =P

Statistics can indeed be just as misleading and one-sided as any statement. The media is extremely selective in selecting what they publish, and if it doesn't fit within their agenda they will completely ignore whole chunks of a story.

Consider the source of this flawed study.

One side of Antartica is getting extra snow, while the otherside is melting and breaking apart. The Artic findings are flat out wrong. Satellite photos reveal a dramatic loss of ice, as do eyewitness accounts, as do US military measurements. Russia didn't plant a flag on the bottom of the Artic Ocean to claim the oil there because the ice was remaining the same; it did so because the ice is disappearing, opening up a new frontier to exploit.

The studies of this show the contrary actually, using satalite pictures since 1979 overall volume of ice hasn't changed, aparently it's just melting more in the summer but it all freezes again in the winter. We are getting colder winters and hotter summers.

Of course the Artic Ice Cap is freezing over during winter. (We still have winter with global warming.) The giant change is that during the summer the ice is disappearing unlike it never has in the past.

It's better to refer to Global Warming as Climate Change because it encompasses the idea of extremes in weather, hot and cold, wet and dry, instead of just emphasizing the overall global temperature warming.

i was just more going on about how the media has been saying all the ice had gone and wouldn't come back.

that's what iritates me,

climate change is a problem and we need to sort it out

It's hard to hate the messages science bring us. After all, science is ideally without emotion. As you point out, of course, this is just one of a miriad of serious environmental challenges humanity faces.
