The word religion comes from the latin re-ligare meaning to reconnect - implying that at some point in the history of humanity our connection to the divine was severed or impeded. Religion therefore is man's search for God. Every man has within him a religious capacity and desire for God. even the Atheist who says that the world would be better off with out religion. For what is this statement but the expression of a desire to 're-connect' with the way the Atheist believes things should be?

@byrnsey01 You bring up some excellent points, but I think what some atheist people mean is that we don't like religious people fighting for supporters for their religions, we don't like people arguing over religions like "my god is bigger than yours"

Those kinds of fights are very stupid in the way that religion is a belief dear to you, something you hold on to and supposedly genuinely believe in, and you dirty and shame it by "recruiting" more followers for it..

I believe that The salvation in death is the fact that you have done something in your life, no matter how small it may be.
