This would be a lot funnier if you had played football growing up. When a team watches the game tape(usually the day after the game) the head coach is always on someone's ass for missing plays, blocks, etc. I guarantee every person that played high school football can relate to the part about the "hit somebody, I don't care if it is your own teammate" bit. The other bit is about the coach calling a run play (23 dive in this case) and the QB deciding to go for a hail mary like doug flutie.

First night I met Tracy was back in the day at The Peppermint Lounge in East Orange, New Jersey. Inside of 1 minute they threw chicken wings at me. I stood my ground, called them out for several racist heckles, took an audience vote for who wanted me to go or stay and it was 80% stay. I "survived" the rest of the set. Tracy called it the ballsiest set he'd ever seen saying that I'd, "Gone all the way to the edge of the cliff and looked down". Still 1 of my proudest moments as a comic.
