@BPatches701 Perhaps he could hook it directly to an antenna sitting in front of a running Leader Electronics wall-wart and send the cone through 6 feet of rebar and concrete.
that was funny i'm gonna call it the "phail" speaker since the brand is "philips" and its spelt with "ph", next time you should try putting the camera on a tripod so when the speaker blows out it's not shaky :P
@merijnwitje In the house we have 230v AC @ 50hz single phase often limited by a relay-fuse at 40A,and optionally 380-440v high amperage three phase line for heavy duty applications.
The local transforming power towers are having about 450 kilovolt on the input and power capable to light up a whole city.
I don't know the impedance of that speaker at 50hz-60hz,but if you connect it on to a power tower it would definitely try to suck up million watts.
If you could obtain a UPS power backup supply and short the thing out, like, plug an AC cord that has the wire cut, mesh the wires together and let it short out, that would be super amazing. Don't try it in that outlet in your house, maybe in the AMIR9000. It'll cause a major short, fry some breakers and shoot a shower of sparks!
haha state of the fart. I would like to mod one of these and turn it into a regular speaker. possibly remove the filter that blocks out all other frequencies and only allows bass thru.
haha, dude you know what you should do is put something in the speaker that will fly out and then you can also measure the distance the object flew out of the atomic BOOM!
@rudster121 It means the system was only 75 watts an when he plugged that into the wall he supplied 1800 watts which cups perfectly fry the speaker if it is not disconnected.
Asuming the speaker impedance is 8 ohms which is the typical value: I=V/R then 120V/8=15 amperes are flowing though the speaker; and that means W=IV so 120x15=1800W flowing though the speaker. Man that's absolutely crazy, specially taking in count that the system is just 75W.
For more exciting sparkage, simply connect the AC cord to the speaker....while it's still connected to all that dead electronic circuitry (unless you're planning to microwave that later on!) and THEN throw the voltage to it....cheers!
lol u gave it 120v.... you sould of given it to me...i would of gave it 230vAC :P

@thewii552 cuz he more likely used 120v... i have 230vac if i pluged that in my wall plug it would of killed it in 1sec

You should get a variac (variable voltage transformer).
120VAC is too quick and painless. Need to make the speakers suffer a little I reckon somewhere around 40V would be perfect.

@ivaneduardo747 or more if the speaker is less than 8 ohms!
2400W for 6 ohms and 3600W for 4 ohms!!!

Oh, I forgot, if it catches fire because of the excessive current use the hidroBOOMblaster to BOOMblast it.
