@TheMrburningdog25 He can't afford to in case his tyres won't last the full loop of stages until the next service halt. They need the tyres to stay as good as possible whilst trying to be as quick as possible. He could go faster but then the tyres would not last the distance.

It is truly amazing how the passenger is giving him commands two to three turns ahead and he remembers it all. I would be crapping my pants with the mission at hand
