And here i thought that the Simply Red version was the original...i must say i like them both equally! they both give it there own flavor. and of course they are both truly gifted artists.
I like Mick's version but I LOVE the original! Thank you Mr. White for blessing the earth for only a short while with your presence and giving us the gift of your music...
nobody break it down and sing about love like barry. this song is on the very first album i bought when stationed at fort hood, texas in 1979, this cut is one of 5 jams on the album the man
I know i only found out about this song when GTA4 came out but i love this song a lot, unlike this mainstream crap all over the tv and radio nowadays, i feel sorry for the new generation of kids who won't be able to appreciate music like this in the future
I dont understand, for a long period of at least 6 months, i could never find this song on youtube. this video even ! i used to watch it at work and then one day Poof, vanished, and now its back ! can someone clarify ?
Cmq io terrei a ricordare che barry white non è stato "usato" solo nel gta iv ma anke nel vice city quando ancora lui era vivo.comunque io sono d accordo sia con abustin ma anke con DonkeyFist.perche è anke un punti di vista.
More work went into making the game GTA4 than went into this single song. He should be honored to be featured in GTA4's soundtrack.
The GTA games collect the BEST songs from each genre to be featured. I doubt Barry White is 'offended' he's more likely happy to be praised through inclusion.
Calling gta "art" (in the same sense that music is art) is a bit of a stretch, regardless of how much the complexity of the gta series commands appreciation. And while the late Barry White, like most artists, appreciated publicity and recognition, I doubt he would have considered it an "honor" that a violent media source targeted at video game junkies appreciates his music; at least not compared to many other lifetime achievements. If anything, it is this statement he might find offensive.
Dude...they hire professional movie writers to write the games dialog, they hire major A list actors to record dialog, and they use Grammy winning songs for the games soundtrack...
Not to mention they have some of the TOP game developers, graphic artists, and mastering engineers in the entire video game industry working under them.
Open your mind and get out of your basement, GTA and many other video games are ART.
All your points are true, but definitions of "art" are based on interpretation. GTA involves skill and design at a high level but lacks artistic expression. But I fear we are splitting hairs. Nonetheless, perhaps this level of development does confer an "honor" on Barry White and other included musicians, as you said.
Don't assume minds are closed because they don't share your opinion. And I won't comment on the irony of suggesting "get out of your basement" while defending a video game.
That's a bit much, isn't it? As if disagreeing with someone's perspective is somehow preventing them from expressing an opinion! Lighten up, it's just a friendly exchange of ideas!
Yeah, fair enough. I'll admit the topic is irrelevant and doesn't belong, but I'm not the one who started it (though I did continue it), and it's not as though such posts prevent people from listening to the song, you don't have to read them! Never mind though, I'm done.
Dude don't be such a little d-bag, I conceded because this was getting pointless. Go take your whining elsewhere and tell all the other people who comment on music videos that they're encroaching on your fragile right to listen to music on the internet.
so we can all agree as we were happily running over people on the sidewalks of liberty city, we heard this on vibe and called zit, looked it up on youtube then commented about it.
This video had no comments and it was uploaded in November 30, 2007 and then GTA IV came along and you were in your car listening to Vibe and you heard the track and called ZIT. You got the track's name, searched it on YouTube and had the nerve to post it here... I must say it's a nice track but when GTA IV came a long and argh somiigod :0! Your reading this and now your feeling ashamed for yourself... Aye =D
Yep, that's what I did, but hey, GTA is a great vehicle for getting access to R&B music. I wouldn't have known how awesome the Isley Brothers were without San Andreas!
ohh man, this is grown folk music right here, these fools called rappers nowadays cant even begin to comprehend wat was takin place in this decade!, music was never the same after mr. white left us
if you dont like the song, thats your problem, and i pity you, you missin out on some great music, if you like faggot lil wayne, well i just pity you flat out because you dont know music at all!@
