@becca5584 I know right...well there are a lot of trees, just now the thick forests that once covered the island. But that is how it is in most developed areas (even in the US). There are coconut trees, mango trees, bananas, oranges, cherries, breadfruit, and countless other kinds of trees.

After Haiti was done paying France reparation for 100 years in the 1940's great projects were constructed in Port-au-Prince such as the Presidential Palace, The Cathedral etc...Then came the Duvaliers in 1957, to Aristide to US invasions & embargoes THEN THE EARTHQUAKE. No other Islands in the Caribbean were more advanced than Haiti except Cuba. The NGOs will only show you ugly parts to collect more moneis.

I know one American lady here who dreams to get an NGO job in Haiti, her main goal is to make money cause she has one too many American friends who are making tons of moneis as NGOs down in Haiti.
