man... i used to work at the limelight lounge in geelong,,(start to finish)..and chris was amazing....grew more of and understanding of just plain good music when i was there...and the funny thing is, im getting older and was thinkng about trying to learn and instrument...and saw chris is a harmonica teacher in geelong..so typed his name in google and here i am.... sweet...
just cool to see the man who provided the sound track to my youth. The Chris Wilson room at the punters was a cracka of a space. The rock against work series was a mid week day out for the unoccupied.
Hey um if any of you listen to crawdaddy on RRR I was wondering if you knew what guitarist played with Chris W on the opening to track to crawdaddy's show, 'born under a bad sign'. And awesome song! with great harp and guitar playing :)
What about the playing of Shannon Bourne - gotta be one of the finest players in the country! (This clip'd be around 2003 - he's going from strength to strength - maturing nicely). Anyone know of any other videos with Shannon playin'?
Well I have quite a bit of Shannon over the years playing with Chris Wilson, also Geoff Achison and also his own band, just got to get him to look at it and hopefully will post some of it. I think there is some footage of Shannon playing with brod smith on youtube. Type brod smith into the search and I think you'll find it.
@RoosterMcBlurter Saw Chris play with Shannon acoustically at Martians Cafe in Deans Marsh. Awesome shows they played there quite often and Chris also plays at the Piping Hot Chicken Shop in Ocean Grove regularly
First time I ever saw or heard of Chris was when he did that episode of Jazz AZ NOW with Bob Sedergreen, Paul Wookey, Little larry Weems and myself for the ABC at 'Rippon Lea' in November 1989.
Chris played in the back up band with all of us and played some damn nice harp.
Sadly, Shirley and I missed this spot at Bruthen in 2003.
I can remember when Chris Wilson was in the 'Soultwisters' and his stage name was 'Fat Boy Slim', way before that other guy used the same name. Great video Rooster! Cheers man!
Kudos to the harp--vocals and guitar --you might want to listen to yourselves--tune is too long.

It was at a blues festival and the crowd were diggin' it so I think they just went with the flow. No one seemed to mind on the night!

Great stuff.
That's some of the finest harmonica playing I've heard in a while.

As far as I know, no ... doesn't mean absolutely no chance. Don't recall it on any of the vinyl, either.

It was The Ballad of Slim Boy Fat.
He won't do it live now, because it's too painful on his throat. The pussy.
