Your right. Bale is an awesome Batman. I love BB, TDK & I can't wait to see TDKR! But Keaton is still favorite Batman; even though he mercs a few thugs every so often...
I, personally, think people only like Keaton because of nostalgia. The guy is dull and boring. His Batman is no different from his Wayne (they're both 1 dimensional). Batmans supposed to be 1 dimensional, not Wayne. Its appealing Batmans badass being 1D but not Wayne. Ehh thats the why I see it. Bale is actually really entertaining, pulling off three sides of Wayne and being able to portray emotion (angry, charm, boyish look, man, fearsome, happy)
Christian bale is the perfect batman and perfect as Bruce Wayne! His voice adds realism to the film, if your masked and don't want your real identity known, you'll put a voice on. Bruce wayne's voice is recognisable, therefore the reason he uses that voice!
@tigemata "I think it was more pronounced in the Dark Knight" I'm English and that sounds like a strange use of the word pronounced to me I think he just means his voice was even less normal.
I love bales voice its just got this power with in it thats so terrifying to the scum of gothom but i guess some people just love to bitch about everything and im not like that so i dont see there way of thinking and i dont want to.
Batman Begins was superior in every way to the Dark Knight in terms that Gotham was its own world, Crime certainly seemed like it needed someone who could operate outside of the confines of the legal system, Katie Holms was a much better actress than the dumb bitch from Nanny McPhee 2, The editing was better, Batman's change from a man tired of crime to an empowered hero was a lot more satisfying than killing a girl that didn't want him anyways.
kill your lead actor, let scene queens do the rest
I hope christian bale doesnt change his batman voice for the dark knight rises now since some people keep bitching about it...so now all you guys can whack off to kevin conroy your all mighty batman voice actor who is godly....stupid motherfuckers
I hope christian bale doesnt change his batman voice for the dark knight rises now since some people keep bitching about it...so now all you guys can whack off to kevin conroy your all mighty batman voice actor who is godly....stupid motherfuckers
I don't have any problems with Bale's voice in both of his Bat movies. I just think he slightly exaggerated his voice in TDK too much for it to be nitpicked by moviegoers.
@MmmScruplez I think if your going to give batman a voice like that then you need him to talk less, part of the reason I preferred begins to TDK is because he talks less when in costume. worst scene with the voice is when he's trying to talk harvey down from killing gordons son, at that moment he needs to stop doing the voice or tone it down because he's trying to be persuasive not scary
@Fagottron I find this rather an ironic statement to make seen as your passion is remixing Hollywood films, and also they can't be THAT dumb seen as "The Dark Knight" in it's self as an incredible movie.
@TheBrothersInShit You realize you can talk to the guy without referancing his music every time you say something to him right? just saying... he remixes all sorts for the record..
the voice is brilliant, just like the jokers, stop complaining, on screen you laugh at him, il bet youl shit your pants if he ever interragates you in that voice...so shut up!!!!!
Ok then if everyone is so smart in the DC universe then why cant anyone but 2+2 together and find out that the man with no mask (superman) is the man with glasses (Clark Kent)
@GrayWoIf The whole idea behind Superman not wearing a mask is that Clark Kent deliberately wanted to create for himself an image that would persuade people to trust him on a subconscious level. The fact of the matter is, most people would never suspect that Superman has an alter ego, because if people are able to see his face, they would, for the most part, automatically assume that he's got nothing to hide from them.
@J666H To continue, the more recent Superman stories suggest that Clark Kent's personality before he became Superman was, in fact, a lot closer to what Superman's personality is. As Clark Kent, he needed to divert as much attention away from himself as possible. Therefore he not only uses glasses to conceal the unnatural blue color of his eyes (that fact's been mentioned a lot recently), but he also changes his physical appearence (a trait atributed to the late great Chris Reeve's performance).
@J666H During the Blackest Night event, if my memory serves me correctly, Barry Allen/Flash makes a remark that Hal Jordan's face is easy to recognize and that he should adopt the type of mask Kyle Rayner uses to hide his features as Green Lantern. Hal dismisses the proposal, saying that Clark is hiding behind a mere pair of glasses. Flash's response is something like "Clark slouches, wears clothes two sizes too big and raises his voice an octave."
@J666H You see, Clark Kent has previosly stated that he needs to have a normal life and that he couldn't stand to be Superman all the time. That's why he's adopted the bumbling Clark Kent persona, when in reality and in his private life he doesn't bother with keeping the act. Said bumbling Clark is the "mask", if you will, and the intent behind the whole disguise is to make Clark Kent as ordinary and unimpressing to his co-workers as possible (siad co-workers are, after all, reporters).
@J666H In short, I could present a lot more examples that would prove, at least in the DCU, why nobody would make a connection between Clark Kent and Superman, sans, of course, the people who are aware of the whole secret identity thing. Still, as I feel that I've said more than enough to make my point, I won't delve into the whole Clark Kent/Superman/Kal-El psyche, for I think there are many sides to that thesis and I wouldn't want to upset anyone with a different opinion than mine.
@J666H One should keep in mind, though, that, as with any fictional character, there is a certain degree of suspension of disbelief to the case of Superman's secret identity problem. I, personally, have chosen not to think that much about it, save for my not-quite-so-short analysis, and I try in general to simply enjoy the dynamic of Clark Kent's interactions with colleages and friends without constantly asking myself why can't any of them realize that he is Superman.
I think is not bruce muffling the voice, but something inside the cowl. if you watch the movies, you'll see he nerver uses his normal voice while batman, and viceversa
@lordrandal90 He disguises his entire body from the "Bruce Wayne" image, so why not the voice as well? Not to mention, Wayne is a made man, and all of the D.C. Universe knows who he is [hence, his voice as well], and Joker.. he's insane, but he' isn't stupid. Anyone'd connect the two.
i thought it was brilliant that Christian Bale changed his voice for Batman. What a lot of people don't really notice is that Batman and Bruce Wayne are 2 completely different people. Bruce wayne is more of a peaceful, trying have a good time, playboy while Batman is much more darker, you can see the rage in him everytime he puts on the suit, it's notcieable on the comics. Christian Bale understood this concept and brought his own mix to the table. Which in my own opinion was a fantastic idea
I don't think anyone is arguing that Bruce/Batman have to be different from one another, including changing the voices to sound distinct. What some people are saying is that Christian Bale's version of his voice transformation sounds a little bit silly. Inotherwords, not everyone agrees that Christian Bale pulled off the Batman voice.
Well I actually remember watching Batman Begins and especially in the scene where he sneaks in gordon's room, I think he really nailed the voice. I thought it "sounded alot like batman" should..
But in the dark knight he went too far with it. I mean, I didn't even notice anything wrong with his voice in Batman Begins, but the contrast of Bruce Wayne's and Batman's voice was waaay too big in Dark Knight. Way too growly and loud. Not that it actually bothers me much.. Great movie anyway.
noooo. batman has two sides to him. bruce wayne and batman. bruce wayne is his good peaceful side and batman is the side in which he lets all his anger and rage out. chrisitian bale understood this and stated that in one of his interviews. that's y he talks like that. i think its perfect. I see all t these ppl complaining about how the voice was terrible but if someone can do a better voice, id like to see it. i hate all these critics that take his voice out of proportion
I thought the voice thing was well done by Chirstian^^ You can't get everything right so people should stop concentrating on one little thing cos he did play great^^ P.S. Simon Pegg is awesome too^^
mmm, my friends and I rip on Bale's Batman voice so often.
we like to scare each other, so every so often, drunk or sober, one of us will grab another quickly/roughly and yell in their face with The Voice, 'WHERE IS SHE?'
I started doing it after I saw the Dark Knight for the first time and got a little drunk, and now everyone does it.
I thought the voice thing in TDK was a bit wierd too, thought i was the only one . Thye should have at least invented a voice modulator of some sort instead of the the wierd laryngitis whisper he had to do.Sounded kinda camp.
But is was a good movie though, a lil bit too long but good all the same.
Bale's voice was much, much better in Batman Begins than in The Dark Knight. I have no idea what happened in between the two movies but he totally screwed up Batman's voice for TDK.
I don't know why people bash the voice. I mean he is the Dark Knight not the Dude Knight so you would expect him to have a dark voice.
