  • Did anyone tell him not to touch the formations with his oily hands?

  • The legend of Merlin's Crystal Cave, does'nt seem so far fetched now.

  • Wish I could live there.

  • selenite xtals!

  • ive heard that the average temperature is about 55C°!

  • (coming from Minecraft)

I guess you could say this cave

    *puts on sunglasses*

    steps it up a 'Notch'

    YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

  • Minecraft brought me. Minecraft will have it.

  • this is impossible !

  • looks like the fortress of solitude!!

  • ok...they found Superma's lair. Big qustion where is he? Well next expedition will be to find him.....

  • This appears to be Merlin's Crystal Cave to me. What a beautiful geologic masterpiece... Well done... Mother Earth.

  • Holy shit thats alot of crystal meth.

  • MAGNIFICENT!

    EXTRAORDINARY!

    FASCINATING!

  • now I can finaly steal supermans crystals, "evil laugh!-muhahah"

  • imagine being the first person to enter that cave.

  • Look at this reckless dumbass contaminating the cave with his greasy fingers. Everyone knows that touching cave formations messes up their growth because of the skin oils and other contaminants.

Caves like this should be protected from people who don't know anything besides "OooOOoH PreTTY CrYSTal!!!!1"

  • @lavalizard3 Never seen a comment more full of bullshit in my life. You don't know anything.

  • @oujdaTV I think I'll use my reflector shield and bounce that one right back at you. You haven't proven that you know anything about caves and thus can't legitimately call bullshit on me . I stand by my comment.

  • @lavalizard3 You clearly don't know anything.

    A. Once the crystals are formed, they aren't going to get larger.

    B. Oils in skin have nothing to do with cave contamination. Gypsum is an evaporite mineral, and skin contamination has no effect. (If you don't believe me, rub a piece of gypsum, and nothing will happen).

    C. Iain stewart is a leading professor and expert in geology, and clearly knowledgeable.

I know this, because I am a geologist who works in this area. You do not know anything.

  • @Friendo108

    A. Fair enough. I should be hating on the miners who sucked out the water these were growing in (and being protected by), not the curious explorers.

    B. Got me there too. If they can't grow anymore then it doesn't matter if they get all dirty.

    C. Geologist or not, he's got all the grace of an American tourist and shouldn't be in a sacred place like that.

I can't argue that you know more about the science here than I do. Thumbs up.

  • @lavalizard3

Everyone knows the greasy fingers theory stands for limestone caves, right? These crystals have stopped growing long time ago.

  • @dariusmartin78 They only stopped growing when miners pumped out the water they were growing in. And from what I've read since my infamous comment, they deteriorate in air. So unless they stop pumping and let the cave re-fill with water, these crystals are going to crumble whether touching them causes damage or not.

Not that anyone gives a shit about nature anyway though...

  • I heard their going to put an air conditioned Mcdonalds down there.

  • Wonderfull world¡¡

  • Reports have soon water samples from this came had over a million viruses.

  • They found where superman lives!

  • Whoever can piss all over this incredible beauty needs some education. USA massive murder rate, massive drug intake and fond of forcing it's ideology down other countries's throats. Regime change anyone. people get kidnapped all over the world, they take drugs all over the world. USA #1 arms dealer, guns are illegal in Mexico, they are all imported from the states Vince 1980 and idiot illeiseRenee

  • Jajaja, ni yo le entiendo

  • NICE HOLLYWOOD PRODUCTION ! BUT IF THERE IS ONE CHANCE TO BE REAL HUMAN HAND WILL DESTROY IT DAY BY DAY ...

    j/k, it's a natural process :)

  • Comment removed

  • @guitarbridgecleaner you do realise that this guy was actually in there and you do realise that those crystals and the air around them is at a minimum of 105C, if you wanna be crazy enough to pick one of them up with just a pair of rubber gloves you need you head checked mate. But without that suit you will die in less than 15 minutes

  • @GOODBADNAUGHTYWOLF 105 C ? he'd be dead, sure you don't mean F

  • kriptonita blanca!!!! para supermann!!!!

  • Фантастика!! Спасибо!!!

  • Thank you for posting this magnificent video! Good luck!

  • This sucks =(

    I can't watch part 2 I get this message

This video contains content from bbc, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

  • @kenzeus Try paying a TV license for this and then have a gripe. BBC isn't free.

  • @seraphimianight

I have BBC channel in my satellite subscription....

  • @kenzeus Not the same, a license over here is for the right to watch a TV (yes you did read that right, archaic I know) and it funds the BBC as well as the digital switch over. I get the same messages you are getting when I try and view anything on showtime, ABC or HBO websites for example, since I am obviously not in the US, yet I pay for subscription TV that includes HBO.

  • @smartverity

Well I think is it very stupid.Since all the parts are just preview of just 1 to 2 minutes not even whole episodes.I already watch the other parts disappointing....

and yes I have this same problem in Holu.

Also paying for a license is insanely dumb. My motto is there is always a way ;)

  • eu queria estar lá, juro que queria!

  • Mexico's "Cueva de Los Cristales", just one of a whole group of caves - stunning transparent gypsum columns, longest is about 36ft, weighing an amazing 55 tons - lots of different caves too, temp. of about 113 degrees F

  • that cave is somewhere in mexico. it is priceless, and needs to be protected from all the scum sucking maggots, who would pillage and plunder the crystals. even if they are only giant salt crystals, gypsum to be more precise. (NOT TABLE SALT, learn some chemistry)

  • Wait, what's the point of the mask? Was the passage to get here really toxic??

  • is any of that shit worth something???

  • amazing

  • wow thats amazing, i wanna go there =]

but were is this place anyway?

  • @xXGoThiicGiiRLXx somewhere in mexico. It's REALLY hot and getting in there is about as hard as going to the moon. Only a select few people are allowed to go because it can/will kill you.

  • Connect back to the earth ,You will all feel its love, Love and light all ways

  • FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE

  • @lobo340 look at my channel. ;)

  • Gorgous Selenite. :)

  • thanks i need this for homework

  • I thought my crystal was big LOL. Wow what a miracle of creation. Thank you for posting this, you made my day!

  • "That is unbelievable".

    Wrong. I believe that.

  • in Germany a documentary "Naica - Höhle der Riesen-Kristalle" true channel on the television "arte" yesterday (the repetition is 07.03.09 in the early afternoon) to see just wow you must watch you times the only unfortunately in German is nothing but the images compensate for

  • Some crystals are more than 30 feet long and weigh more than 50 tons.

In the mid 1980s, the cave was drained (accidentally) by miners, but it wasn't discovered until 2000. Today, Cueva de los Cristales is protected by a steel door, put in place by the mining company that owns the cave. Visitors are limited, but the lack of water means the crystals could eventually collapse under their own weight, or lose their translucent beauty as gases infiltrate the cave

  • The key to the crystals' formation is an upwelling of magma beneath the cave system. The heat caused the anhydrite in trapped pockets of groundwater to form selenite (a form of gypsum), which formed into crystals. This particular cave remained in total isolation, with a steady temperature from the magma and a static environment in which the crystals were constantly bathed in water. This allowed them to grow for tens of thousands of years.

  • Its 50ºC and has a humidity of 100%, less than a hundred people have been inside and its so deadly that even with respirators and suits of ice you can only survive for 20 minutes before your body starts to fail. Its the nearest thing to visiting another planet its going deep inside our own.

  • This cave is called La Cueva de los Cristales and it's full of monstrous crystals. It is located in Mexico, and the crystals themselves are a form of gypsum, one of the most common elements on Earth.
