  • great playing!

  • Loving it!

  • "Inner Urge hasn't been killing since 1965. The only people who call it are jive ass mother fuckers like you" (jazz robots quote, not truth :) )

  • that's a very interesting, impressive and cool way to go on an improvisation. 2 thumb up

  • I'm working on this song and I just wanted to say thank you for the great ideas! Lots of really neat material from which to draw inspiration.

  • I would say a fair bit of coltrane!

(oh and kurt and muller )

  • @yoshy321 and I would say all Joe Henderson.

  • where did you get the backing track?

  • That head must be a bitch on guitar. I'm a sax player and it sucks so I can't imagine what you guys go through trying to play it.

Sounds killin' though. Keep it up brother...

  • hi! over what play-a-long you are plying here ? Good phrasing man! :)

  • Happening stuff man, you into Kurt a lot?

  • HI, nice phrasing. Are you using flats or round strings? Regards.

  • I am 14 and have two videos (the second is much better) of this song. Check them out.

  • Good phrasing , good sound

  • You're a monster player, congratulations.

  • Likewise nutsacker, may we meet again on the field of battle!

  • he doesn't sound like a kurt knockoff, we're all coming from a new modern vocabulary and Kurt is kind of the fountain head for it. Its jut like in the 40's when every musician was influenced by parker.

  • Great playing man. I'm curious; are you using a tri grip on the pick(thumb index + middle)? One not of constructive criticism; start practicing your hybrid picking.

  • I believe Life is comparison. I do, however, think we can learn to compare artists without limiting their playing or belittling their efforts! Commenting while still giving respect to the artist's indispensable individuality! The only people I can't stand are non-musician music critics! :)

    Great playing here though!

  • i'm guessing you listen to kurt? haha

  • my thoughts exactly

modern jazz es-335 players really have sprouts all across the board, in kurt's style.

  • Just Fantastic!

  • dude your fingers are as long as paul gilberts. THAT IS LONG MAN!! love your stuff. great phrasing man. peace

  • whered u get this backing track?

  • never mind

  • Wow , awesome job!

  • chapadeira

    groovy ma'man

  • no joke man!!! dig, dig a lot!!

  • amazingg!!!!!!!!great work!!!!!!!!!!

  • Although it sounds like kurt but i reckon you are good

  • You like Kurt Rosenwinkel, don't you?

  • I very rarely view youtube users own guitarvideos, simply because there's so much shit on this website, I virtually always end up mad and disapointed.

This however is the first homemade guitarvideo that impressed me. Your playing is fluid, confident and innovative. Keep up the good work, you have potential!

  • Check out Tom Quayle, Cesar Huesca, and Gustavo Guerra for some guitar videos you won't be disappointed in. If you only like fusion just check out Tom.

  • bloody great!!!i also put some ibanez stuff on my youtube site. my favourite guitar.

  • Good stuff..

  • yeah, YEAH!

  • man o man! ur ripping it up over some joe awsome!!!!

  • So who is it? Some of those licks are verbatim rosenwinkel.

  • very cool style and tone, i like your phrasing a lot

  • Wow! Great playing!

  • Truely great playing man!

  • Are you mike moreno? any way if not, this generation kicks ass.

  • definitely sounds a lot like Mike, this guy's definitely transcribed him. great playing regardless.

  • There is already one Kurt Rosenwinkel...

  • you got a lot of ideas from allen holdsworth

  • Great, man! Keep up the good work!

  • oh wow, this is great playing. i saw this vid like a year ago when u first posted it. its just clicked to me who you are. i can tell by your picking technique and the give aways on your account. nice tone nice style nice chops! keep it up mate!

  • Killer!

    You're 19? Me too.

    You sound great...

  • Very good... cool jazz sound!

  • wow you are good

  • great tone!

  • sounds good bro I like my Ibanez too..

  • nice one man great job!!

  • Nice!

  • haha i recognised your hands when i was looking for kurt videos.

    sounding good man.

    andy.

  • hands? i recognised him from the jumper.

    nice work.

    nb.

  • Great man. I can hear the Rosenwinkel influence big time in your playing. You have a loose and relaxed feel for time I hear a lot of guitarists sticking to 8th too much but you can break from it nicely.

  • Sweet sweeps!!!

  • your playing is hypnotic, in a GOOD way! Beautiful execution and tone. I could listen to you for hours.

  • wow! that was sick! what strings and pick are you using?

  • Nice job with those half-diminished solo spots.

  • yeah man nice touch and delivery,

  • I wish I had thinner fingers. I have lumberjack hands.

  • Haha! that's sound awesome!

  • most people do not achieve that in a lifetime...if that is really your solo-congratulations!!!

  • Great job man. Where, if I may ask, do you get the audio tracks?

  • great!!!

  • great chord following and great tone

  • great playing!

    congrats!

  • great playing man you've got a future in this music shit just develope your own sound

  • Man, don't you know Mesa Boogie amps are only for metal... yeah, as if! I hate it when people push equipment into categories. Excellent tone and great playing! I have a Mark IV and LOVE it for everything from country, Jazz, Blues, to Metal. Keep up the good work!!!!

  • Hey man great playing, really enjoyed it.

    Where can I hear Kurt's Summertime mp3 from 1989?

  • very very good!, who's playng?

  • Haha. I was waiting for the "LOCAL ON THE 8s" Weather Channel forecast.

  • I love those weather channel jams. Those musicians are pro's.

  • Can't fault it. Great playing, great tone!

  • Yeah, now---that's how I WANT to be able to play! It's just not quite there for me yet. Thanks for the posting!

  • Yeah, very mature playing indeed. Me like alot...Best of luck! Sandemose

  • sounds great!!!

  • is that true 2por2?? where did you hear that

  • well maybe he played nice for a 19 year-old but... well you decide. Go to mimmocafiero 's page and listen to summertime mp3. It's from 1989, so Kurt is exactly 19. He doesn't sound like a promising new genious, which he later proved to be.

  • I disagree.I just listened to the tune you're talking about...Well,for me-besides too obvious Metheny influence-it was a great solo,very original and well built.Maybe there weren't too many "hip" lines,but who needs them?Especially when you're 19 :-)

  • I agree with denjz, I think Kurt sounds great in that tune. Interesting to hear him when he was 19!

  • @FusionistAS200 I ran across these recording of Kurt when he was a student, one of the tracks is a 9 minute inner urge. haha. Strangely enough, he sounds alot like he does now, just with less chops.

  • too obvious metheny influence? seriously? come on man. first of all, it's impossible to escape sounding a little bit like metheny, because he has influenced almost every jazz guitarist since him. second, he doesn't really sound that much like metheny. also, I thought he had some pretty hip lines.

  • @griffinsemple I just wanted to listen to this Kurt's version of Summertime ones again and couldn't find it: it seems that it's not on mimmocafiero's page any more...Where did you find it?

  • Great playing. I'm impressed. Very intelligent playing, good direction. I can hear Kurt's influences. Btw I love Kurt's music as well. Btw2: Kurt sucked at 19 :)

  • LOL ;-)

  • wow if your only 19 all i can say is wow

  • Just amazing!! What a player!! You really rocks man!! all my respects. I have an Ibanez AS93 and I hope play like this some day, greetings from Peru...

  • Great playing. Hope to hear more!!

  • I also like this song. u sounds like kurt, but good playing

  • How old are you ? You are very good

  • Thanks. I'm 19..

  • soundin great man...where are you from?

  • Thanks.. I'm from Australia...

  • Is this kurt, if not, your one bad mofo

  • Thanks! No, I'm not Kurt Rosenwinkel haha.. a big fan though!!
