i think the first two albums are completely different and brilliant in their own right. i'm anticipating that the next one will be nothing short of genius!

Seriously? I thought the second album was as good as the first one... In some ways, even better, when we think about production and cleaniness of sound. I'm a fan, I'm suspicious... ;)

Yeah, but do you think a high amount of production and cleaniness is a good thing? I mean... Both albums were great... But I think as a first album "Our earthly Pleasures" wouldn't have been AS convincing. But by knowing and LOVING "a certain trigger", which was a lot sort of punky in places and, to get back to my point, had an overall 'rawness' to it (even in terms of production) it worked... I think I'd like a mixture of both... Am I making sense? :-)

maybe this new cleaniness turned out to be a good thing because it made the sound a little bit different from the first album, not losing its own style... Sometimes, high production can be a bad thing, tough! But it was not the case for Maximo Park! hooray! (:
