I been natural for well over 2 decades, All of a sudden now it's en-vogue to be "Natural". Please believe me, some years back other Black women hated on my nappy headed self. I am Gifted, Black and Nappy, and I'm happy to be nappy. However, a lot of other sistas are "going" natural now, but trust 5-10 yrs ago, it was not "the in thing to do". So to Haiti, they gone hate you for what ever you do. So you may as well embrace what and who you are in THIS phase in yo life and be yourself. Peace !

I was teased all through my senior year because my hair was nappy and unmanageable while I was transitioning. However, I stuck to my decision for ME!

I been natural for well over 2 decades, All of a sudden now it's en-vogue to be "Natural". Please believe me, some years back other Black women hated on my nappy headed self. I am Gifted, Black and Nappy, and I'm happy to be nappy. However, a lot of other sistas are "going" natural now, but trust 5-10 yrs ago, it was not "the in thing to do". So to Haiti, they gone hate you for what ever you do. So you may as well embrace what and who you are in THIS phase in yo life and be yourself. Peace !

@HipHopcheerleader I went natural because I wanted to not because it was the "in thing to do." I didn't feel the need to alter my hair texture. I had hair down my back when I was relaxed. I wouldn't cut my hair for a "trend." You really don't know everyones reason and story for going natural so who are you to make generalizations? I was teased all through my senior year because my hair was nappy and unmanageable while I was transitioning. However, I stuck to my decision for ME!

I am an adult now and going natural wasn't a trend it was a life long decision of embracing who I am. I love my hair and who I am. If natural was to be no longer accepted I WOULD STILL BE NATURAL! I was scolded for cutting all of my "LONG PRETTY STRAIGHT HAIR!" There's not that many naturals in my family.
