My aunt had a white 1993 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4, great vehicle, but the transmission went at about 130,000 miles for some unknown reason.

I myself had a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 that we just traded for a 2010 Toyota Tacoma (fortunately not for C4C). It was 13 years old, with about 114,000 miles, never had a problem.

I agree with you this is a waste of a perfectly good truck. These Pathfinders will run forever

I have a 1993 pathfinder......with 260,000 miles and still runs like it came from the factory, so this car had at least another 150,000 miles of life in it........MORE MILES THAN ANY NEW CAR IS EXPECTED TO LAST, the highest warranty on any new car that I know of is 100,000 miles......so this old car should be worth 1.5 times what the new car is, at least in functionality.

That particular nissan was designed, built and shipped from Japan. I don't think they started to assemble them here until the 1996 model year. That looked like a 1995. What a waste of a good vehicle.

This is stimulating the shit out of the economy which is what everyone needs. Don't get me wrong, I love cars and would have a hard time doing it, but the vehicles included are being replaced with more efficient vehicles, the "clunkers" are being recycled and the program is pumping money into a hurting industry/economy with effects FAR beyond what most people realize. It's better than a collapse of the US auto industry, which may have been on its way.

Your paying for a new car that's been sitting on the lot for like 2-4yrs. I know their are older cars that get good mileage, no need to trash perfectly good cars b/c everything has to be economical. My mom drives a 1998 nissan sentra-4dr gxe & gets 38miles to the gallon. I don't see her throwing away her car she can still use it for another 2-3yrs.
